Abstract
Procedure for the separation and recovery of acid gases from a gaseous mixture that contains them, by absorption in an absorbent solution that comprises a solution of an alkaline salt of an alkali metal and regeneration of the absorbent solution; characterized in that the said absorption step is carried out in an absorbent solution that, in addition to the said alkaline salt of an alkali metal, also comprises a minor amount of an amino acid or an ester or salt thereof, the amino acid of which has the formula : **(See formula)** wherein R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, preferably a normal alkyl group with 1-6 carbon atoms, and R'is a normal alkyl group with 2 to 7 carbon atoms, preferably 2-6 atoms carbon, an isopropyl, isobutyl or cyclohexyl group.
