Abstract

A method of crystallizing a crystallizable component from a solution thereof, comprising the steps of; a) forming a suspension of small crystalline nades of said component in a pre-crystallization zone by causing a solution containing said component to rapidly become a supersaturated solution of said component and forming said small crystalline nades; b) rapidly mixing the suspension of crystalline crystals obtained in step a) with larger crystals of said component in a crystallization zone, said larger crystals having an average size of the order of at least 10 times the average size of said crystalline crystals, for what the small crystalline nuclei dissolve, under adiabatic conditions in said solution and subsequently increase them as crystals developed on said larger crystals.
