Abstract

Magnets 4 on a disc 3 driven by the distributer shaft co-operate with a semi-conductor device 5, the forward conduction of which is varied by the magnetic field to cause an amplifying device (not shown) to generate a spark. Reduction in inlet manifold pressure causes membrane 7 to be displaced, thereby moving the position of device 5. The magnets 4 and device 5 may be interchanged.
