Abstract
1,083,551. Hall effect circuits. HITACHI Ltd. July 6, 1964 [July 10, 1963], No. 27809/64. Heading H3T. [Also in Division F1] An engine ignition system includes automatic advancing means 37 which includes a small electric generator 38 whose output is variable in response to engine speed. The generator output is fed to a Hall effect device 43 disposed in a magnetic field which rotates in synchronism with the engine. The output of the Hall effect device controls the timing of a pulse-generating means 63 whch is composed of a condenser 64 and a resistor 65. One terminal of the condenser is connected with the collector of a transistor 56. Reference 66 designates a monostable circuit which includes two NPN transistors 67, 68. When the trigger signal by the pulse-generating means 63 is applied to the ignition control means 66 the operative states of the transistors 67 and 68 are reversed. The cut-off of the transistor 68 results in abrupt cut-off of the igniting transistors 75 and 76 and a pulse at high voltage is thereby induced in the secondary coil 79 of the ignition coil. The timing can be controlled with the aid of variable resistors 50 and 53. The resistor 61 may be replaced by a lamp 62.
