Abstract

Cylindrical pistons 10, 12 are moved in circular paths without rotating about their own axis by mechanisms each comprising a spindle 16 secured at one end to the piston and mounted eccentrically in a bore of a shaft 20 to which a driving gear 22 or 23 is attached. Each spindle 16 is secured to the centre of a link 50 which on one side of the spindle 16 carries a rod 54 or 56 and on the other side has a bore in which the rod 56 or 54, rigidly secured to the other link 50, slides. The gears 22, 23 mesh each other and are driven by a gear 48. Sealing bellows 38 are provided. A further sealing sleeve 60, Fig. 4, may be located within sealing bellows 38, and the space 68 so formed may be filled with a neutral fluid at a particular pressure. The pistons 10, 12 carry blades 14, 15 which slide on one another and form a partition between the pump intake and delivery ports 2, 4.
