Abstract
Passage valve device, applicable to air brakes in railway trains, characterized in that it comprises: (a) a box having a control chamber with a pressure controlled conduit for supplying pressurized fluid thereto for charging said control chamber, (b) said chamber having a compensating box, (c) throttling means connecting said chambers for charging said compensating chamber with compressed fluid from said control chamber, (d) movable stop means subjected to opposing pressure from said control chamber and said compensating chamber for movement in any of the opposite directions. (e) a normally seated valve, operatively connected to said movable stop means and rising from the seat in response to the movement of said movable stop means upon a reduction in pressure in said control chamber occurring at a rate above a certain degree to effect a rapid evacuation to the atmosphere of fluid under pressure from said control chamber to said conduit with controlled pressure, and (f) valve means comprising cooperating members on said movable stop and said housing for opening a restricted passage between said compensating chamber and said control chamber during the movement of said movable abutment means in response to the concurrence of a pressure reduction in said control chamber in a regime up to said determined degree and to close said restricted passage, when moving said abutment moving means in a direction opposite said last mentioned movement, in response to a predominant pressure in said control chamber above of the pressure in said compensating chamber.
