Abstract

In a process for the manufacture of toothed rubber belts, a rubberized fabric 21 is disposed on a building drum 9 provided with teeth 11 and preformed structures 10 of extruded rubber are placed on the fabric 21 and pressed into the spaces between the teeth 11. A flexible tape 12 carried on rollers 13 ... 17 maintains the fabric 11 and structure 10 in engagement with the roller 9. A resistant insertion in the form of metal wires 4 is then applied and covered with a rubber layer 7 and the whole subsequently vulcanized in situ on the drum 9.
