Abstract

Una abrazadera para tubería para reforzar una junta soldada entre dos tuberías, que tiene una pluralidad de segmentos de abrazadera circunferenciales que se atornillan entre sí alrededor de la junta. Un extremo axial de la abrazadera tiene crestas extendidas circunferencialmente que se extienden hacia dentro y se asientan en surcos circunferenciales correspondientes en una tubería a un lado de la junta. El otro extremo axial de la abrazadera tiene dedos espaciados circunferencialmente que se extienden hacia dentro y ajustan en cavidades correspondientes al otro lado de la junta soldada. Cualquiera de las crestas o dedos o ambos de ellos tiene un abocinado cuya sección transversal se reduce en una dirección hacia dentro y ajusta en surcos o cavidades complementarios a cualquiera de los lados de la junta. El abocinado empuja uno hacia el otro los lados opuestos de la junta soldada a medida que los segmentos de abrazadera se aprietan entre sí.
