Abstract

Un acero de fase doble, de añeación baja, soldable, de resistencia ultra alta, con excelente tenacidad a temperatura criogénica en la chapa base y en la zona afectada por calor (HAZ) cuando se suelda, teniendo una resistencia a la tracción superior a 830 MPa (120 ksi) y una microestructura incluyendo una fase de ferrita (14) y una segunda fase predominante de martensita en varillas y bainita inferior (16), se prepara calentando una chapa gruesa de acero incluyendo hierro y los porcentajes en peso especificados de algunos o todos los aditivos de carbono, manganeso, níquel, nitrógeno, cobre, cromo, molibdeno, silicio, niobio, vanadio, titanio, aluminio y boro; reduciendo la chapa gruesa para formar chapa en una o varias pasadas en una banda de temperatura en la que recristaliza la austenita; reduciendo más la chapa en una o varias pasadas en una banda de temperatura inferior a la temperatura de recristalización de la austenita y superior a la temperatura de transformación de transfromación Ar3; efectuando un laminado de acabado en la chapa entre la temperatura de transformación Ar3 y la temperatura de transformación Ar1; enfriando rápidamente la chapa con laminado de acabado a una temperatura de parada de enfriamiento rápido.
