PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA OBTENCION DE CETONAS AROMATICAS DE FORMULA (I) DONDE R1 PUEDE SER UN METILO O PROPILO, R2 Y R3 UN METILO O HIDROGENO Y R4 UN METILO O UN ISOPROPENILO. LA REACCION SE LLEVA A CABO A PARTIR DE M-XILENO Y EL ACIDO MONOCARBOXILICO CORRESPONDIENTE EN PRESENCIA DE PENTACLORURO DE FOSFORO Y TRICLORURO FERRICO. ESTOS COMPUESTOS DE FORMULA (I) TIENEN APLICACIONES FARMACOLOGICAS POR SU ACTIVIDAD ANALGESICA Y ANTIINFLAMATORIA.PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING AROMATIC KETONES FROM FORMULA (I) WHERE R1 MAY BE A METHYL OR PROPYL, R2 AND R3 A METHYL OR HYDROGEN AND R4 A METHYL OR ISOPROPENYL. THE REACTION IS CARRIED OUT FROM M-XILENO AND THE CORRESPONDING MONOCARBOXYLIC ACID IN THE PRESENCE OF PHOSPHORUS PENTACHLORIDE AND FERRIC TRICHLORIDE. THESE COMPOUNDS OF FORMULA (I) HAVE PHARMACOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS FOR THEIR ANALGESIC AND ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY.
