Abstract

The mechanism is applicable to those self-propelled machines which carry baskets used for pruning and collecting fruit from trees, which baskets are suspended from a telescopic boom emerging from a rotary platform 11 mounted on the actual frame 1 of the machine, the latter having respective drivewheels 2 and directional (steering) wheels 3. The mechanism is based on a pair of hydraulic, dual-effect cylinders 14 and 16 whose chambers are connected together by means of corresponding conduits 15, the cylinder 14 being actuated by means of an arm 12 integral with the shaft 10 on which the rotary platform 11 is mounted, the latter being actuated by the pinion 8 of a hydraulic motor 23 secured thereto, which pinion 8 meshes with a fixed ring 7 on whose bush 9 the shaft 10 is mounted, whilst the cylinder 16 acts on an arm 18 which moves the hose 19 of the steering system of the machine, so that, linking the volumes of the chambers of both cylinders 14 and 16, it is possible to cause a specific rotation of the pinion 8 with respect to the ring 7 to produce a flow of oil from the cylinder 14 to the cylinder 16, giving rise to the rotation of the directional wheels 3 to a greater or lesser degree with respect to the rotation of this pinion 8 and therefore to the rotation of the platform 11 in which the basket- suspension boom is mounted.
