Antitheft device for locking the steering of motor vehicles, with a cylinder (barrel) lock (4), whose rotor (3) actuates a cam (2) for pushing back the bolt towards the unlocking position. The device comprises a member (6) for holding the cam (2) in rotation, the operation of which is controlled by the effect of the axial withdrawal of the rotor (3) with respect to the body (1) of the antitheft device.
