COMPRENDE BOMBARDEAR UN COMPONENTE HECHO DE UN METAL O ALEACION CON IONES NITROGENO EN UN SISTEMA EN VACIO Y A UNA TEMPERATURA POR DEBAJO DE LA CONVENCIONALMENTE USADA EN LA NITRURACION CON PLASMA. EL BOMBARDEO CON IONES NITROGENO SE EFECTUA PREFERIBLEMENTE A UNA TEMPERATURA INFERIOR A 850GC Y DURANTE UN PERIODO DE TIEMPO DE 1-2 HORAS. SEGUN UNA MODALIDAD, ANTES DEL BOMBARDEO CON IONES NITROGENO, LA SUPERFICIE DEL COMPONENTE SE LIMPIA POR BOMBARDEO IONICO, CON LO QUE FINALMENTE SE OBTIENE UN REVESTIMIENTO SUPERFICIAL SOBRE EL COMPONENTE.
