Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve safety in the control device of an electric rolling stock which carries out braking by using electric brake force and air brake force by cutting off an electric brake circuit and operating only an air brake device when abnormality occurs in an electric brake control system. CONSTITUTION:A brake force command signal S1 is converted 1 into a digital signal to be an electric brake force signal S2, which is applied to a main electric motor 4 via an electric brake force control circuit 2 and an electric power converting device 3 to make the main electric motor 4 act as a generator. The current of the main electric motor 4 is detected 5 and electric brake force is operated 6 from the detected value. By carrying out the subtraction 7 of the difference between the command value S2 and the operated value S5 of the electric brake force and the difference is made an air brake force signal S6 and outputted to an air brake device 9. In this case, if the abnormality of a main control portion 10 is detected 11, a switchover circuit 12 is operated to separate the control circuit 2 while, on the other hand, a switchover circuit 13 is operated to directly output the command signal S1 to the air brake device 9.
