Der erfindungsgemäße Wäschebügel enthält zwei an einem Gehäuse klappbar angeordnete Bügelarme und einem am bzw. im Gehäuse angeordneten Auslösemechanismus, der zwischen einer oberen Sperrstellung zur Halterung der Bügelarme in einer hochgeklappten Transportstellung und einer unteren Freigabestellung zum Verschwenken der Bügelarme in eine heruntergeklappte Entnahmestellung bewegbar ist. An den beiden Bügelarmen ist jeweils mindestens eine Halteeinrichtung mit mindestens einem mittels eines Koppelantriebs zwischen einer Schließstellung und einer Öffnungsstellung bewegbaren Halteelement zur Halterung von Hosen, Röcken oder dgl. angeordnet. Die Halteelemente sind über den Koppelantrieb derart mit dem Auslösemechanismus gekoppelt, dass sich die Halteelemente bereits bei noch hochgeklappten Bügelarmen durch die Bewegung des Auslösemechanismus aus der oberen Sperrstellung in die untere Freigabestellung öffnen und sich die Öffnungsbewegung der Halteelemente bei der Bewegung der Bügelarme in die heruntergeklappte Entnahmestellung durchgängig fortsetzt.
