  • the comb can be mounted adjustable relative to the stock body, in particular in an inclinable manner relative to a longitudinal axis.
  • the invention also relates to a gun, characterized in that it comprises a gun stock as described previously.
  • the rifle may include a grip including a longitudinal through opening, the rear surface of the grip being positioned in contact with the front surface of the first adjustment element of the rifle stock, a screw passing through said handle to engage with a rifle barrel positioned against the front surface of the handle, so as to fix the first adjustment element the rifle butt, the grip and the rifle barrel between them.
  • Longitudinal direction means the direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rifle on which is mounted or intended to be mounted the rifle butt, i.e. along the longitudinal axis of the rifle barrel.
  • the longitudinal axis of the rifle stock and the rifle barrel are aligned. Due to the invention, as will be detailed later, a gun can assume configurations in which these longitudinal axes will no longer be aligned: we can then consider as the longitudinal direction that of the gun stock when it is considered relatively in its nominal configuration or detached from a barrel.
  • vertical direction is meant the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and perpendicular to the ground. It forms with the longitudinal axis of a rifle or of the butt of a rifle a vertical median plane of the rifle, when the rifle is positioned in its nominal configuration. Such a median plane is generally a plane of symmetry or substantially of symmetry of a gun.
  • transverse direction is meant the perpendicular to the vertical and longitudinal directions. It is also perpendicular to the aforementioned vertical median plane.
  • horizontal direction will be used for any direction in a plane perpendicular to the vertical direction. The longitudinal and transverse directions thus define a horizontal plane.
  • the invention is based on a rifle stock comprising at least one element for adjusting its position relative to a rifle barrel to which it is linked, and/or relative to a handle to which it is linked.
  • This or these adjustment elements form a device for adjusting the position of the rifle stock.
  • this adjustment is based over at least two degrees of freedom in rotation, or more generally two degrees of freedom in orientation, as will be detailed later.
  • this adjustment allows continuous orientation adjustment, according to an infinity of possible orientations between two predefined limits of a predefined angular range.
  • the figures 1 and 2 thus represent a part of a rifle stock comprising two adjustment elements according to one embodiment, and the figures 3 to 14 more precisely illustrate some of the main elements of such a rifle stock.
  • the figures 1 and 2 illustrate a rifle stock part comprising a stock body 1 and a device for adjusting its position making it possible to fix this stock body to a gun barrel and/or to a handle by allowing its position to be adjusted, in particular of its orientation, relative to such a gun barrel and/or such a handle.
  • This adjustment device comprises a first adjustment element 10 and a second adjustment element 20, which will now be described in detail.
  • the first adjustment element 10 is intended for direct attachment to the barrel of the rifle, and/or to a handle of the rifle stock which is positioned between this first adjustment element 10 and the barrel of the rifle.
  • the second adjustment element 20 is directly fixed to the first adjustment element 10 on the one hand and to the stock body 1 on the other hand. It therefore forms an intermediate element.
  • the second adjustment element 20 and the first adjustment element 10 are fixed together by an adjustable connection, allowing adjustment of their respective orientation relative to a transverse axis.
  • the stock body 1 is likewise fixed to the second adjustment element 20 by an adjustable connection, allowing adjustment of their respective orientation relative to a vertical axis.
  • This construction thus finally allows a double orientation of a stock body 1 relative to a gun barrel, and/or to a handle, and therefore allows adjustment of the position of a stock body 1 on a gun barrel according to two degrees of freedom, relative to two mutually perpendicular axes according to the embodiment.
  • the adjustment device could be limited to a single adjustment element.
  • the adjustment could be limited to an adjustment according to a single degree of freedom, and/or according to a single orientation among the two orientations shown.
  • the adjustment device could comprise more than two degrees of freedom and/or more than two adjustment elements.
  • the figures 3 to 7 represent the first adjustment element 10 of the adjustment device.
  • This first adjustment element 10 comprises a front face 11, particularly visible on the figure 4 , intended for fixing a handle and a gun barrel, not shown.
  • a connecting device any mechanical connecting device can be considered.
  • the front face 11 comprises openings 12 which allow the positioning of a handle, the latter comprising a longitudinal opening allowing the passage of a screw, in particular a tie-rod screw whose head is housed in a opening 12 and the end comes into engagement with the barrel of the rifle, thus allowing the clamping and fixing of the assembly around the handle of the rifle.
  • the first adjustment element 10 comprises on the face substantially opposite the front face 11 a connection device with a stock body 1.
  • this connection with the stock body 1 is indirect, since it is done via a second adjustment element 20, mentioned above. Alternatively, it could be direct.
  • This connecting device comprises a hollow portion 13 of substantially open cylindrical shape, delimited by a wall which forms a cam surface 16. It extends around a first transverse axis 14, over the entire width of the first adjustment element. This hollow portion 13 opens towards the rear through an opening 15, which also extends over the entire width of the first adjustment element.
  • the hollow connection portion 13 is delimited by a wall, forming a cam surface 16 in the form of a cylinder portion, the section of which by a vertical longitudinal plane is substantially circular, truncated over a circular sector of approximately 90 degrees, which corresponds at the opening 15 mentioned above. This section is constant over the entire width of the first adjustment element 10, two of these sections being visible respectively on the figures 6 and 7 .
  • the opening 15 defines the cam surface 16 in two parts 161, 162 facing each other. These two parts 161, 162 are further separated by a thin hollow portion 163, substantially planar, extending over the entire width of the first adjustment element 10. This hollow portion 163 makes it possible to provide elastic mobility relative to the two parts 161 , 162, whose function will be specified later.
  • the underside 17 of the first adjustment element 10 further comprises several openings.
  • Two openings 171 pass through, through the first part 161 of the wall forming the cam surface 16, symmetrically distributed around a vertical longitudinal median plane. These openings 171 are aligned with threaded openings 172 arranged in the second part 162 of the cam surface 16, as is particularly visible on the section of the figure 6 .
  • Two other through openings 173 are also arranged through the first part 161 of the cam surface 16. They are aligned in a substantially longitudinal direction, positioned at the level of the vertical longitudinal median plane of the first adjustment element 10.
  • the figures 8 to 11 represent the second adjustment element 20 of the rifle stock, arranged intermediately between the first adjustment element 10 and the stock body 1.
  • This second adjustment element 20 comprises a first portion in relief 23, of shape corresponding to the hollow connecting portion 13.
  • This portion in relief 23 is intended for insertion with play into the hollow connecting portion 13 of the first element 10, so as to fix the two elements together.
  • the portion in relief 23 is delimited by an adjustment surface 27 and represents the male part and the hollow connection portion 13 the female part of a mechanical connection between the two adjustment elements 10, 20.
  • the cam surface 16 of the first adjustment element 10 cooperates with the adjustment surface 27 of the second adjustment element 20.
  • the two respective surfaces 16, 27 of the two adjustment elements 10, 20 can move the relative to the other, in contact, by friction with play.
  • the cam surface 16 of the hollow portion 13 thus guides the movement of the raised portion 23.
  • the two surfaces 16, 27 in contact being of cylindrical shape, the second adjustment element 20 is rotatable relative to the first transverse axis 14 of the first adjustment element 10.
  • the stock body 1, connected to the second adjustment element 20 can be adjusted rela tively to the gun barrel and/or to the handle by this mobility around this first transverse axis 14, which makes it possible to position it more or less high in the vertical direction, more precisely to raise or lower its rear part.
  • the adjustment surface 27 is inscribed in a cylinder with a transverse axis. According to the embodiment, it is discontinuous, formed by several parallel discs delimiting spaces 22. These spaces 22 make it possible to lighten the second adjustment element 20, while allowing the passage of locking and fixing screws, as will be detailed afterwards.
  • the second adjustment element 20 further comprises a hollow portion, arranged on its face opposite the portion in relief 23, forming a hollow connection portion delimited by a second cam surface 26, similar to the hollow connection portion 13 of the first element, of substantially cylindrical shape, but arranged around a vertical axis 24.
  • This second cam surface 26 also comprises at least two parts 261 and 262, elastically movable with respect to each other via cutouts 263, as is particularly visible on the figure 11 .
  • the wall part 262 comprises through openings 271, aligned with threaded openings 272 of the other wall part 261.
  • the raised portion 23 is connected to the rest of the second adjustment element 20 by a narrow part or neck 25, intended to position itself at the level of the opening 15 of the hollow portion 13 of the first adjustment element 10.
  • the figures 12 to 14 finally illustrate the stock body 1 according to the embodiment of the invention.
  • This butt body 1 represents the main central part of a rifle butt. It is intended for attachment to a gun barrel, via a connecting portion in relief 3 forming a substantially cylindrical adjustment surface 7, arranged at its front face 2, similar to the portion in relief 23 of the second adjustment element 20. It further comprises a connecting device with a comb, not shown, in its upper part 4, and a connecting part 5 with a heel at its rear face 6, as will be described by the sequel in relation to figures 15 to 22 .
  • the stock according to the embodiment comprises a device for blocking and fixing the various elements together. Indeed, when an orientation between two elements of the butt is considered suitable, it is then necessary to block the chosen orientation and to fix the two elements reliably in this orientation. This fixing is chosen so as to withstand the repeated efforts undergone by a gun during firing.
  • the blocking and fixing device according to the embodiment is based on screws, one embodiment of which will be specified below.
  • the second adjustment element 20 is first arranged in cooperation with the first adjustment element 10, by inserting its male part inside the corresponding female part by translation in the transverse direction, the neck 25 of the second adjustment element 20 is positioned in the opening 15 of the first adjustment element 10. The user then proceeds to the adjustment by relative movement of the two adjustment elements, their respective surfaces 16, 27 sliding in contact against one another. When the orientation is considered suitable, the relative position of the two adjustment elements 10, 20 is locked and the two adjustment elements 10, 20 are fixed together.
  • This blocking and fixing can be done in several stages. For example, two screws, not shown, can first be inserted respectively into each opening 171 and then tightened in the threaded openings 172: this tightening brings together the two parts 161, 162 of the cam surface 16 which clamp the portion in relief 23 housed in the hollow portion 13, to prevent its mobility. She is then caught in a vice. The tightening is distributed over the entire contact surface of the two surfaces 16, 27, which makes it very effective.
  • two other screws 71 are then added in a second time in the openings 173, and screwed until a complementary blocking of the portion in relief 23, by means of nuts 73, by coming into direct support on the adjustment surface 26.
  • the two adjustment elements 10, 20 are fixed to each other in an integral manner, with a fixing device which supports the forces undergone by the shots of the rifle without becoming loose.
  • the invention is not limited to the blocking and fixing device described.
  • the latter could take other configurations, such as for example another type of screwing, another number of screws, and/or any other fixing device than a screwing.
  • the adjustment range can be limited by stops. It advantageously extends over a large range, for example extends from a first angle of orientation comprised between -40 degrees to +40 degrees, or even between -20 and +20 degrees, choosing by convention zero orientation in the nominal configuration, that is to say when the butt body is aligned with the gun barrel. According to this first orientation around a transverse axis, the first angle of orientation is measured in a vertical longitudinal plane, relative to a horizontal direction. This orientation moves the stock body upwards or downwards, its rear part undergoing the maximum amplitude of displacement relative to an initial horizontal plane.
  • fixing is possible for any angle of orientation included in the range provided. Indeed, the adjustment is carried out by a continuous relative displacement of an adjustment surface on a cam surface. The adjustment thus makes it possible to be carried out from an infinity of positions, any orientation value being able to be chosen within the predefined range.
  • the orientation can be modified by loosening the fixing screws until reaching the relative mobility of the two elements allowing the orientation adjustment explained above.
  • connection portion in relief 3 of the stock body 1 is housed in the corresponding hollow connection portion, so that the adjustment surface 7 delimiting the connection portion in relief 3 comes into contact with the second cam surface 26, allowing the relative displacement of two components.
  • a blocking and fixing device is actuated to secure the two components in this chosen orientation.
  • the blocking device rests on four screws, including two fixing screws which pass respectively through the openings 271, 272 of the second adjustment element, so as to achieve tightening of the connection portion in relief 3 of the stock body by bringing together the two opposite walls 261, 262.
  • two other screws 71 are added to bear against the adjustment surface of the connection portion in relief 3 and complete the fixing.
  • the setting range can be the same as mentioned for the first setting.
  • this adjustment is likewise advantageously continuous over the entire predefined range, offering an infinity of possible orientations.
  • the orientation adjustment can therefore be very fine.
  • This second orientation adjustment is carried out along a vertical axis, which induces a left-right adjustment of the stock body, of maximum amplitude for its rear part.
  • the cam surface could have a shape other than a cylinder portion, to cause a movement combining a change of orientation and a translation for example.
  • the cam surface could also have a shape combining more than one orientation. It could be of the ball joint type, allowing orientation adjustment in all directions.
  • a simplified embodiment could only include a single adjustment element, and then allow a single adjustment orientation.
  • a single adjustment element could allow two degrees of freedom, either by a single cam surface, or by two distinct cam surfaces, and for example implement the two orientations described above.
  • an additional adjustment, or replacing another adjustment described above could be obtained by orienting the stock body around a longitudinal axis, thus allowing the same inclination of the entire stock body around a longitudinal axis.
  • the stock body could be adjustable by one, two or three translations, in addition to the orientations described above.
  • the rifle stock according to the embodiment therefore comprises a stock body 1, on which are arranged in the front part a handle and two adjustment elements 10, 20 intermediate.
  • the stock body further comprises a comb in the upper part, and a butt in the lower part.
  • a connection with a comb can be chosen so that the comb is orientable according to an inclination around a longitudinal axis, as described by the document DE9411466 .
  • the stock body 1 further comprises a longitudinal groove 8 in its upper part, which allows adjustment in longitudinal translation, front-rear, of the comb.
  • the stock body 1 further comprises an opening in its upper part 4, allowing the housing of a plate for mounting a comb.
  • this plate allows adjustment of the position of the comb according to other degrees of freedom than those described above, among a rotation around a vertical axis, around a transverse axis, a vertical translation, a transverse translation .
  • a heel is also mounted at the level of the rear face 6 of the butt body 1.
  • the rifle heel could be as described by the document WO2020120418 .
  • the figures 15 to 22 illustrate a rifle butt 100 intended to be connected to the butt body 1 according to one embodiment.
  • the rifle butt according to this embodiment also includes several components, identified by the exploded view of the figure 16 , and represented one by one by the figures 17 to 22 .
  • a first component 30 of the rifle butt is in the form of a tube, intended for connection in the connecting part 5 arranged at the rear of the stick body 1.
  • This tube can be moved in longitudinal translation relative to the stick body 1 to fix it according to several more or less advanced positions, which thus allows fore-aft adjustment of the heel relative to the stock body 1.
  • a second component 40 is illustrated in the figure 18 . It comprises on the one hand a first connection portion 41 with the first component 30, and on the other hand a second connection portion 42, in the form of a slot, for an adjustable connection with a third component 50.
  • the third component 50 is illustrated in the figure 19 . It comprises a first connection portion 51 with the second component, allowing position adjustment by rotation about a transverse axis between the two components 40, 50. It comprises a second connection portion 52 for connection with a fourth component 60 .
  • the fourth component 60 is illustrated in the figure 20 . It comprises a first connecting portion 61 with the third component. It comprises a second connecting portion 62 for an adjustable connection in vertical translation with a fifth component 70.
  • the fifth component 70 is illustrated in the figure 21 . It comprises a first connection portion 74 with the fourth component 60. It comprises a second connection portion 75 for a connection adjustable in rotation about a transverse axis with a sixth component 80. More precisely, the second connection portion 75 comprises two identical parts positioned respectively at the two ends of the fifth component 70, which forms an elongated base intended for positioning substantially in the vertical direction.
  • the sixth component 80 is illustrated in the figure 22 . It comprises a first connecting portion 81 with the fifth component 70. It comprises a second connecting portion 82, in the form of two parallel grooves substantially oriented in a transverse direction, provided for positioning a support element, not shown , intended to bear directly on the shooter's body. More precisely, the heel comprises two sixth components 80: a first allows the positioning of a first support element at the level of the shooter's shoulder, and a second allows the positioning of a second distinct support element lower , at the level of the shooter's chest. Each sixth component is movable independently relative to the base formed by the fifth component 70, by a rotation around a substantially transverse axis. The two grooves of the second connecting portion 82 allow the additional adjustment of the position of a support element, by a transverse translation and by a rotation around a longitudinal axis.
  • the invention also relates to a heel as such, as described above.
  • the invention is not limited to the heel described. It can also be extended to any heel, preferably an adjustable heel with mobility allowing its adjustment according to at least one degree of freedom, or even two, three, four or more degrees of freedom.
  • the heel comprises two support elements that are movable independently of each other.
  • these two mobile bearing elements form the entire bearing surface of the heel (that is to say the functional bearing surface on the shooter's body).
  • the invention also relates to a rifle as such comprising a rifle stock as described previously, a handle, and a rifle barrel.
