Description

Gebiet der ErfindungField of the invention

The present invention relates to a transportable amusement ride, in particular a Ferris wheel comprising a horizontal main axis, a wheel rim with spokes rotating about this main axis, on which the individual passenger cabins are arranged radially on the outside, and a support structure resting on several vehicles, wherein in the assembly position of the Ferris wheel at least two vehicles are arranged next to one another.

Hintergrund der ErfindungBackground of the invention

From the DE 20 2006 017 416 U1 The basic structure of a Ferris wheel is known. This usually includes a horizontal main axis, a wheel rim with spokes, on which the individual passenger cabins for the passengers are located radially on the outside, and a support structure that carries the Ferris wheel rotating around its horizontal main axis and which is supported on a base.

For transportable Ferris wheels, which can be set up more quickly, the supporting structure is supported on several vehicles. DE 89 11 634 U1 A Ferris wheel has become known in which the entire structure is housed on a total of three carriages, so that the Ferris wheel is transportable, whereby these three carriages or containers are placed next to each other when the Ferris wheel is erected. The two outer carriages each support load-bearing elements, which also include supports that run diagonally outwards when viewed from the front of the structure. The spoke structure for the wheel rim is located above the middle carriage. The size of such a Ferris wheel, which is housed on just three carriages, is limited, however.

If you want to set up a larger Ferris wheel using this principle that is still transportable, the vehicles used for this, usually semi-trailers known as mid-body trailers, have to be extremely long and heavy. Such vehicles are not permitted under the Road Traffic Act, as the maximum trailer size according to the EURO standard is 13.6 m. The vehicles are also too heavy and weigh around 50 tonnes with the tractor. A special permit is therefore required for these vehicles, and the transport itself is also associated with considerable effort.

Zusammenfassung der ErfindungSummary of the invention

The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a transportable ride, in particular a Ferris wheel with the features mentioned at the beginning, which can be transported by road with reasonable effort even with a large diameter of the wheel rim and can therefore be set up comparatively quickly.

The solution to the above-mentioned problem is provided by a transportable amusement ride, in particular a Ferris wheel of the type mentioned at the beginning with the features of claim 1.

The solution according to the invention has the advantage that the entire construction of the ride can be accommodated on several vehicles, each of which has a reduced overall length and a reduced overall weight and is therefore permitted in normal road traffic. Before the ride is set up, the vehicles are set up in such a way that in the assembly position a total of at least four vehicles are arranged next to each other in two rows, with two vehicles in each row being arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction and a further vehicle being arranged between the respective ends of two longitudinally arranged vehicles in both rows and transversely to them, so that as a rule a total of at least five vehicles can be arranged in an approximately cross-shaped arrangement of the vehicles, or that in the assembly position a total of at least six vehicles are arranged next to one another in three rows, with two vehicles in each row arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction.

The present invention is not limited to Ferris wheels, but can also be used in other high-altitude rides, such as swings, propellers or the like.

According to a preferred development of the present invention, two vehicles arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction are arranged in such a way that they are positioned with their respective vehicle end areas against each other. The vehicles in the longitudinal rows are therefore preferably rear to rear. In these rear areas, there are usually several axles in these vehicles, so that a high weight can be taken up here, and the area in the rear of the vehicle is lower than the front area, which rests on the saddle of the towing vehicle.

According to a preferred development of the present invention, the vehicles are semi-trailers, in particular central trailers, and the vehicles arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction with their lower end regions facing away from the saddle are positioned against each other.

In one assembly position, at least two vehicles are arranged next to each other and at least two vehicles are arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction, i.e. in this case there are a total of four vehicles in two rows which are aligned in the longitudinal direction and a fifth vehicle is positioned transversely to these and behind the rear ends of these four vehicles.

If this is necessary because the structure requires additional vehicles, a total of at least six vehicles must be arranged in three longitudinal rows next to one another in the other assembly position, with two vehicles in each row arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction. A seventh vehicle is then positioned between the rear ends of these six vehicles and transversely to them.

According to the present invention, in the assembly position, support structures comprising struts rest with their respective lower end regions on the two vehicles in the two outer rows, and in the transport position, circular arc sections that make up the wheel rim of the Ferris wheel are accommodated on a total of four vehicles arranged in two rows next to each other in the longitudinal direction. The weight of the struts is then supported on the vehicles via their lower ends. There is also enough space on the vehicles to accommodate the circular arc sections for the wheel rim of the Ferris wheel, and these can be distributed over the four vehicles arranged in two rows in the longitudinal direction.

According to the present invention, the main axle and wheel hub and, if applicable, a further support structure for the main axle are accommodated in the transport position on the at least one further vehicle, which is arranged transversely between the vehicles arranged in the longitudinal direction and approximately orthogonally to them. Since the main axle extends transversely to the vehicles arranged in the longitudinal direction, the main axle can be accommodated longitudinally on the transversely positioned vehicle, so that sufficient space is available there. Even when the five vehicles are arranged before assembly begins, the four struts of the support structure and the main axle are correctly aligned with each other. The main axle can then be connected to the respective upper ends of the four struts and erected over them. The struts of the support structures can then rest in the assembly position with their respective lower end regions on the two vehicles in the two outer rows and their respective upper end regions end above the two vehicles in the middle row on the main axle and wheel hub.

According to a preferred development of the present invention, the support structure thus comprises several, preferably at least four support units with either at least two struts connected to one another in an articulated manner or with each with a strut that can be extended telescopically in its longitudinal direction. With these two design variants, a greater effective length of the support units can be achieved in the assembled state, while in the transport state the support units are retracted and have a shorter length so that they can lie lengthwise on the vehicles without exceeding the permitted vehicle length.

In addition, according to a preferred development of the present invention, a further support structure can be provided which is arranged on the transversely arranged vehicle in the transport state, which can also be extended telescopically if necessary and supports the main axle in one of its axial end areas in the assembly position. In this design variant, the space on the transversely arranged vehicle is used for the main axle and for a further support structure which then supports the main axle at its front end in the assembled state and absorbs the forces arising there, whereby this preferably fifth support is at an angle to the main axle and to the four other support structures in the assembled state.

According to a preferred development of the present invention, at least two additional vehicles are provided on which the spokes of the wheel rim of the Ferris wheel are accommodated, wherein these two additional vehicles are preferably arranged in the erected position of the vehicles during assembly in a central longitudinal row between two longitudinal rows of vehicles standing next to one another. In this variant, two additional vehicles would be added to the four vehicles standing in the longitudinal direction and the one vehicle standing in the transverse direction, which in turn are aligned in the longitudinal direction, so that in this variant at least seven vehicles are used to transport the entire supporting structure of the ride. These seven vehicles are then arranged in a total of three longitudinal rows with two vehicles each next to one another before assembly. and the seventh vehicle is positioned in the middle of the arrangement, perpendicular to the other six vehicles.

According to a preferred development of the present invention, the support units can be raised from the transport state into the assembly position using hydraulic cylinder units mounted on the vehicles or can be erected using cables. Additional lifting devices can be used to initially raise the support units by a first smaller angle and thus overcome a blind spot, and then the hydraulic cylinder units can be used for the further lifting path.

It is understood that the embodiments or features thereof described above can also be combined with one another in any combinations deviating from the claims and their references in order to provide solutions to the above object within the scope of the present invention.

AusführungsbeispieleExamples of implementation

11, 13 nebeneinander. First, the Figure 1 and this illustration explains how the vehicles used for transport are set up before the ride, in this example a Ferris wheel, is assembled. In the illustration according to Figure 1 a total of five vehicles are shown on which the most important structural components of a Ferris wheel can be transported to the installation site, namely four vehicles 10, 11, 12, 13, which are arranged lengthwise in two longitudinal rows in such a way that in each of the two longitudinal rows the two vehicles are positioned with their rear ends 10 a, 11 a facing each other. Since two longitudinal rows are provided, in each longitudinal row two vehicles 10, 12 and 11, 13 are positioned next to each other in the transverse direction. A gap remains between the rear ends of the four vehicles 10, 11, 12, 13 arranged lengthwise, and a fifth vehicle 14 is positioned there so that it is in the transverse direction and is thus aligned approximately orthogonally to the other four vehicles. This results in an approximately cross-shaped arrangement of the five vehicles. The main axle 16 and the wheel hub of the Ferris wheel can be accommodated on this fifth vehicle 14. The struts 27, 30 of the support structures and parts of the wheel rim 17 can be accommodated on the remaining four vehicles 10, 11, 12, 13, whereby as a rule there are several curved sections of the wheel rim 17 on one vehicle.

Vehicles 10, 11, 12, 13 are semi-trailers, so-called mid-body trailers with a lower loading area 23, below which most of the axles with the wheels 25 are located, and with a saddle area 24 which rests on the towing vehicle during transport. Figure 3 shows a similar view as in figure 1 , but now the five vehicles 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 are standing close together and in their final position, which they will assume before assembly begins. Figure 3 shows that the four vehicles 10, 11, 12, 13 of the two longitudinal rows are not directly next to each other, but are spaced apart from each other, so that two additional vehicles 18, 19 can be driven in if necessary, forming a third middle longitudinal row and on which the spokes of the wheel rim can be accommodated, for example. These two additional vehicles 18, 19 are in the Figure 4 which are referred to below.

In Figure 2 is one of the vehicles 13 (in the list according to Figure 1 rear right) is shown in an enlarged view, so that the saddle area 24 and the wheels 25 on three axles below the rear, lower area can be clearly seen. It can also be seen that the vehicle 13 carries one of the support structures 30, which can be raised hydraulically and extended telescopically, as will be explained in more detail later. In addition, several curved sections of the wheel rim 17 are accommodated on the vehicle 13.

Figure 3 shows a similar line-up of five vehicles as in Figure 1 , of which four vehicles 10, 11, 12, 13 are positioned in two longitudinal rows and a fifth vehicle is positioned transversely between them in the area where the respective rear end areas 10 a, 11 a of two vehicles in the same longitudinal row adjoin each other. The arrangement according to Figure 3 corresponds in principle to that of Figure 1 , with the difference that the vehicles of the two longitudinal rows are now driven closely together with their rear areas, although there is still space between the adjacent vehicles of the longitudinal rows for one more vehicle, which carries further components of the ride, namely parts of the spokes as can be seen in Figure 4 which are referred to below.

You can see in Figure 4 that the struts 27, 30 of the supporting structures have already been partially raised and thus form an acute angle with the ground.

Furthermore, it can be seen here that the upper ends 27 a, 30 a of the four support structures each support the main axle 16 and the support structures are supported with their lower ends 27 b, 30 b in the outer area on the ground and on the vehicles 10, 11, 12, 13 standing in the longitudinal direction. The lower ends of the support structures are connected in an articulated manner to the loading area of the vehicles and are moved from the horizontal transport position to the horizontal transport position by hydraulic cylinder units 26 acting on the support structures. Figure 4 shown angled position.

Furthermore, you can see in Figure 4 the two other vehicles 18, 19, on which the spokes 22 for the rim of the Ferris wheel are transported and which are here in a middle longitudinal row between the two outer longitudinal rows of the four longitudinally positioned vehicles 10, 11, 12, 13. The spokes 22 are still on the other vehicles 18, 19. It can also be seen that walkable platforms 20 have been folded outwards from the outer vehicles around a horizontal axis and are supported on the ground.

In Figure 5 , to which reference is made below, the support structures with the struts 27, 30 are raised further than in the illustration according to Figure 4 and are now at a steeper angle to the horizontal than in Figure 4 This is possible because the struts 27, 30 of the four support structures are telescopic and have several sections along their length that can be extended telescopically. Figure 5 also that now compared to Figure 4 a further, fifth support structure 21 is extended, which supports the main axle 16 at its axially outer end. The other four support structures, however, support the main axle 16 from both sides in the radial direction. At its lower end, the fifth support structure 21 is held between two plate-shaped elements 28, which are connected to the outer end of the fifth vehicle 14, which is positioned in the transverse direction, so that the support forces from the main axle 16 are transmitted via the telescopic support structure 21 into the vehicle 14. These plate-shaped elements are also in the Figure 1 recognizable.

Figure 6 shows an enlarged view of the lower area of the Ferris wheel, which has been largely assembled. Here you can see how the struts 27 of the support structures rest on the ground at their lower ends on the outside and on the outer vehicles on the inside. You can also see a section of the already mounted wheel rim 17 as well as some of the spokes 22, which are located above the two other vehicles 18, 19 in the middle row and were previously mounted on these two vehicles.

Figure 7 shows an overall view of a fully assembled Ferris wheel with wheel rim 17, spokes 22 and main axle 16. The support structures resting on the vehicles with the struts 27, 30 reach in height up to the main axle 16. The further support structure 21 supports the main axle 16 axially at one end. The proportions make it clear that this is a very large Ferris wheel in terms of circumference, in comparison with the vehicles visible in the lower area on which the Ferris wheel is transported. Nevertheless, through the inventive combination of at least four vehicles in longitudinal rows and a vehicle positioned approximately in the middle in the transverse direction, all the essential elements of the ride can be transported on vehicles that are approved for road traffic in terms of length and total weight.
