Definitions
- the present invention relates to hinges for toilet seat assemblies by which toilet covers, such as toilet lids or toilet seats, are pivotally supported on toilet bodies. Furthermore, the invention relates to toilet seat assemblies with such hinges.
- a toilet cover is typically pivotally mounted on hinges which in turn are mounted on the toilet body. Pivoting dampers arranged on the hinges allow the toilet cover to be dampened when it pivots. If the toilet body, which is mostly made of ceramic, has bumps on the surface, it is often difficult or even impossible to attach the toilet cover to the toilet body. A misalignment of the toilet cover can further impair the functionality and service life of the swivel damper. Although unevenness could be compensated for by using wedges, yielding materials, etc., this proves to be impractical in practice. For this reason, toilet bodies are usually produced with low fault tolerance, which, however, increases the production costs.
- EP 3 357 387 A1 describes a hinge according to the preamble of claim 1.

- the toilet pad is attached to the toilet body with two hinges.
- FIG 1 shows an embodiment of the proposed hinge 1 for a toilet seat arrangement 2.
- the hinge 1 comprises a first hinge part 3 and a second hinge part 4.
- the first hinge part 3 comprises a pivoting section 5, which is designed in such a way that a toilet pad 7, e.g. as in figure 2 shown a toilet seat 21 and / or a toilet seat 22, about the first axis A can be pivotally mounted on this.
- a pivoting damper 6 is arranged on the pivoting section 5, which is set up to dampen the pivoting of the toilet seat cover 7, so that it does not hit the toilet body 8 in a noise-intensive and/or material-damaging manner when it is closed, for example.
- the second hinge part 4 comprises a bearing section 12 for bearing the second hinge part 4 on a toilet body 8.
- the first hinge part 3 comprises a connecting section 9 and the second hinge part 4 comprises a receptacle 11 which is designed to receive the connecting section 9 .
- the connection section 9 comprises a joint section 10 and the receptacle 11 comprises - as in FIG Figure 3, Figure 4 and figure 5 is clearly recognizable - a correspondingly shaped joint mount 13. If - as in figure 3 shown - the joint section 10 is located in the joint receptacle 13, the two form a joint about which the first hinge part 3 can be pivoted relative to the second hinge part 4.
- the illustrated joint portion 10 is partially spherical formed, the sphere deviating from the spherical shape by two surfaces 16, 16', which form part of a pivoting lock 15, the connection for a shaft section 23 and the connection for a remaining section 24 of the first hinge part 3.
- the two in the Figures 3 to 5 Due to their curvature, the easily recognizable, spherical connection components of the joint section 10 together with their corresponding counterparts of the joint receptacle 13 allow the joint to pivot.
- the joint section 10 is at least partially cylindrical.
- a cylindrical joint shape allows pivoting on only one axis, namely the cylinder axis.
- a spherical joint shape can allow pivoting on two or more, preferably a family of, axes.
- the joint makes it possible to compensate for unevenness, in particular a sloping surface of the toilet body 8, so that even with imprecisely manufactured toilet bodies 8, the hinge 1 can be installed without shearing forces acting on the pivoting section 5, which could otherwise impair the service life of the pivoting damper 6 .
- the joint can also be designed to allow pivoting about at least one further second axis (not shown), preferably about a one-dimensional family of second axes, in order to correct unevenness in different ways to compensate for directions.
- the at least one further second axis is preferably also essentially orthogonal to the first axis A.
- the connecting section 9 and the receptacle 11 are designed such that after just a few degrees the shaft section 23 or other parts of the connecting section 9 abut against parts of the receptacle 11 and thus prevent further pivoting in this direction.
- the first hinge part 3 can only be pivoted about the second hinge part 4 with a small amount of play, but this can be sufficient to compensate for the usually correspondingly slight unevenness in the toilet bodies 8 .
- the hinge is preferably designed in such a way that the first hinge part 3 can be pivoted by a maximum of ⁇ 10°, for example by a maximum of ⁇ 5°, relative to the second hinge part 4 .
- the limited pivoting freedom can contribute to the stability of the hinge.
- the joint mount 13 shown is designed as a snap mount.
- An elastically mounted tab 14 is arranged in the receptacle 11 and delimits the joint receptacle 13 .
- the tab 14 can yield and thus allow the reception of the hinge section 10 in the hinge socket 13, after which the tab 14 can snap back again due to the rounding of the hinge section 10 shown.
- the tab yields again, so that the joint section 10 can be released from the joint mount 13 again.
- the joint can be secured against being pulled out of the joint section 10 by a form fit formed by a securing element 20, as is the case, for example, in FIGS Figures 3 and 4 is shown.
- connection section 9 shown has a shank section 23 . This is preferably completely accommodated by the receptacle 11 in the joint-forming state.
- the shank section 23 is separated from the rest of the first hinge part 3 by the joint section 10 .
- the connecting section 9 and in particular the shank section 23 are elongate and the resulting long lever can contribute to the stability of the hinge.
- the Shaft section 23 is at least twice as long as joint section 10.
- the shank section 23 also has a securing recess 18 for receiving a securing element 20 .
- the second hinge part also has securing recesses 19 .
- the hinge shown is designed in such a way that, in the joint-forming state of the hinge 1, the securing recesses 19 of the second hinge part 4 and the securing recess 18 of the first hinge part 3 at least partially overlap, so that a securing element 20 can be inserted into the securing recesses 18, 19, which, as in the Figures 3 and 4 is shown, the connection of the first hinge part 3 and the second hinge part 4 secures by positive locking.
- FIG 4 shows a toilet seat arrangement 2 in which a toilet seat 21 is pivotably mounted on the pivoting section 5 and a toilet lid 22 is pivotally mounted on a further pivoting section 5'.
- a toilet seat 21 is pivotably mounted on the pivoting section 5 and a toilet lid 22 is pivotally mounted on a further pivoting section 5'.
- only the pivoting section 5 on which the toilet seat 21 is mounted has a pivoting damper 6 .
- the pivoting section 5 and/or the further pivoting section 5 ′ can have a sliding sleeve 25 .
- the second hinge part 4 is mounted on the connecting section 8 by means of a mounting element 29 .
- the bearing element 29 shown here is fastened to the connecting section 8 by means of a washer 27, which is preferably lined with a protective ring 28, a thread and a corresponding nut 33.
- the bearing section 12 of the second hinge part 4 comprises a first groove 31 which is connected via a snap ring 32 to a second groove 35 arranged on a head 34 of the bearing element 29 via a snap ring 32, whereby the hinge 1 is fixed to the toilet body.
- a carrier profile 30 is also arranged on the head 34, in which a corresponding tool can engage.
- the securing element 20 can have a correspondingly designed driver section 36 with which it can engage in the driver profile 30 .
- the securing element 20 can be mounted in a non-rotatable manner.
- the securing element 20 and / or the bearing element 29 can also be designed so that frictional forces Pulling out fuse element 20 from the storage element 29, and in particular from its head 34, make it difficult.
- the second hinge part 4 can be covered by a cover 26 which—in addition to optical advantages—can also protect the securing element 20 against access and unintentional detachment.
- FIG 6 shows a hinge 1 on which a toilet seat 21 is pivotally mounted.
- the pivoting section 5 is covered by a storage eyelet 37 of the toilet seat 21 and other parts of the hinge 1 are covered by covers 26, so that an optically advantageous appearance results in normal use.
- FIG 7 shows a cross-section through a plane figure 6 .

Description
The present invention relates to hinges for toilet seat assemblies by which toilet covers, such as toilet lids or toilet seats, are pivotally supported on toilet bodies. Furthermore, the invention relates to toilet seat assemblies with such hinges.
It is an object of the invention to provide hinges and toilet seat assemblies which overcome the disadvantages of the prior art. In particular, it is a particularly preferred object of the present invention to specify a hinge which allows a toilet cover to be fitted easily even on uneven toilet bodies.
The present invention solves this object by a hinge according to

In alternative embodiments, the
The joint makes it possible to compensate for unevenness, in particular a sloping surface of the

A.The joint can also be designed to allow pivoting about at least one further second axis (not shown), preferably about a one-dimensional family of second axes, in order to correct unevenness in different ways to compensate for directions. The at least one further second axis is preferably also essentially orthogonal to the first axis A.

The
