Claims (11)

  1.     wherein the press tool has two tool halves (14, 15, 18) which can be closed by means of a movement towards each other and opened by means of a movement away from each other,
    said tool halves having a respective press part (15) for the pressing of the press lug during the closing movement,
    wherein parts of the press parts (15) which are facing each other and located at the front, in respect of the press movement of the press tool, are wedge-shaped and designed so as to engage a foot of the press lug facing the cylindrical part of the fitting and to compress it during the press movement and thus plastically deform the press lug,
    characterised by a marking device in the form of at least one projection (33) and/or at least one recess on at least one of the press parts (15),
    and namely on a side of the press part (15) facing the cylindrical part of the press fitting.
  2. The press tool in accordance with claim 1, wherein the marking device has at least one projection (33) and preferably no recess.
  3. The press tool in accordance with claim 1 or 2, wherein the marking device is provided on both press parts (15).
  4. The press tool in accordance with one of the preceding claims, wherein the marking device has at least two projections (33) per press part (15).
  5. The press tool in accordance with claim 4, wherein the projections (33), in the axial direction of the cylindrical part of the press fitting, in other words the direction of a width (b) of the press part (15), are spaced at a distance of at least 20% of that width.
  6. The press tool in accordance with one of the preceding claims, wherein the projection(s) (33) or the recess(es) is (are) arranged directly on a front edge (34), in respect of the press direction of the press part(s) (15), such that they are located at least partially in a convex area, relative to a sectional plane perpendicular to the axial direction of the cylindrical part of the press fitting, on the front of the press part (15) in respect of the press direction.
  7. The press tool in accordance with one of the preceding claims, wherein the projection(s) (33) or recess(es) is (are) arranged directly on a front edge (34), in respect of the press direction of the press part (15), such that they are located at least partially within 30% of the thickness (d) of the press part (15) in respect of the press direction, on the front, starting from the front-most location, as viewed in the press direction, wherein the thickness (d) is located at an end of a convex area on the front of the press part (15) in respect of the press direction.

The press tool in accordance with claim 8, wherein the projection(s) (33) is (are) more pronounced in a direction perpendicular to the press direction and perpendicular to the axial direction of the cylindrical part of the press fitting in a front part of the projection(s) (33) in respect of the press direction than in a rear part of the projection(s) (33).
  10. A set of press tools, each in accordance with one of the preceding claims, wherein the respective marking devices of the press tools differ from each other in that the resulting markings created on the press fittings are different and wherein the press tools also differ from each other in respect of their configuration for press fitting sizes and/or their configuration for motor-assisted or manually actuated compressions.
  11. Use of a press tool or set of press tools in accordance with one of the preceding claims for compressing a press fitting, which press fitting has a cylindrical part and a press lug protruding therefrom and said press lug is to be pressed plastically in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the cylindrical part of the fitting during said compressing in order to clamp the cylindrical part, wherein the marking device leaves a visible marking on the press fitting which presents as a plastic deformation whose shape is specific to the marking device.
