Neben selbst-arretierenden Schiebefittingen, bei denen die Leitung eingesteckt wird und sich bei Zugbelastung in umgekehrter Richtung selbst befestigt, und Schiebefittingen, bei denen ein Fittingteil zur Befestigung in axialer Richtung (bezogen auf die Leitung) verschoben wird, sind auch Pressfittinge bekannt. Bei diesen wird ein Fittingteil mit einem speziellen Werkzeug plastisch verformt; im Regelfall handelt es sich um ein Metallblechteil. - The press tool in accordance with claim 1, wherein the marking device has at least one projection (33) and preferably no recess.

- The press tool in accordance with one of the preceding claims, wherein the projection(s) (33) or recess(es) is (are) arranged directly on a front edge (34), in respect of the press direction of the press part (15), such that they are located at least partially within 30% of the thickness (d) of the press part (15) in respect of the press direction, on the front, starting from the front-most location, as viewed in the press direction, wherein the thickness (d) is located at an end of a convex area on the front of the press part (15) in respect of the press direction.
- The press tool in accordance with claim 2, optionally in conjunction with another of the preceding claims, wherein the projection(s) (33) has (have) an elongated form in respect of the press direction.
- The press tool in accordance with claim 8, wherein the projection(s) (33) is (are) more pronounced in a direction perpendicular to the press direction and perpendicular to the axial direction of the cylindrical part of the press fitting in a front part of the projection(s) (33) in respect of the press direction than in a rear part of the projection(s) (33).
- A set of press tools, each in accordance with one of the preceding claims, wherein the respective marking devices of the press tools differ from each other in that the resulting markings created on the press fittings are different and wherein the press tools also differ from each other in respect of their configuration for press fitting sizes and/or their configuration for motor-assisted or manually actuated compressions.
- Use of a press tool or set of press tools in accordance with one of the preceding claims for compressing a press fitting, which press fitting has a cylindrical part and a press lug protruding therefrom and said press lug is to be pressed plastically in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the cylindrical part of the fitting during said compressing in order to clamp the cylindrical part, wherein the marking device leaves a visible marking on the press fitting which presents as a plastic deformation whose shape is specific to the marking device.
