Definitions

  • the invention relates to a starting device for swimmers comprising a jumping platform and a support unit arranged under the jumping platform, and wherein the support unit has fastening means for a tool-free detachable arrangement on a swimming pool edge.
  • Starting devices for swimmers are installations found in the majority of public swimming pools that provide the swimmer with a platform for jumping into the pool, especially for use in swimming competitions.
  • the actual jumping platform has typically has a rectangular outline and is installed at a height of 50 cm to 75 cm above the water surface so that its front edge is flush with the edge of the pool. Its top is usually provided with a non-slip surface and is inclined towards the pool to enable the swimmer to make a powerful jump.
  • the jumping platform rests on a support unit that is solidly anchored to the edge of the pool and can also have a step at the back to help with climbing.
  • All state-of-the-art launchers have in common that they are mounted as permanent, stationary installations. They are usually attached to the edge of the pool with fasteners and are therefore designed for long-term use in one place. Accordingly, typical state-of-the-art launchers have extremely robust designs, for example with support units made of welded pipe profiles or glued fiber-plastic composite materials, and the launchers can be screwed to the edge of the pool with a large number of screws.
  • the US 2004/0063545 A1 discloses a starting device for swimmers that can be attached to entry and exit handles for swimming pools in the area of the ladder, which also makes the starting device not very flexible.
  • the US4,780,085 A1 shows a launching device that can be attached to the edge of a swimming pool. However, secure fastening and, if necessary, height adjustment of the launching device is not possible with this device.
  • a starting device which is characterized by flexible and easy-to-use arrangement.
  • a modular starting device is to be created, which can be set up variably in height and position.
  • the invention includes the technical teaching that the fastening means comprise at least one foot arranged on the underside of the support unit with at least one adhesive element for arrangement on an upper section of the swimming pool edge, and wherein the support unit comprises a base plate and supports detachably connected to the base plate, on which the jumping platform is received, wherein the supports are formed from detachably connected support elements.
  • the tool-free detachable arrangement describes an arrangement that can only be carried out with the hands, which means that the starting device can be manually positioned and removed from the edge of the pool using the fastening devices, without the need for a screwdriver or other tool, for example.
  • One or more feet on the underside of the support unit are used to absorb the vertically downward force component, e.g. cylindrical or truncated cone-shaped bodies with suitably dimensioned contact surfaces and arranged in a regular arrangement, e.g. in a rectangle.
  • the feet have suitable adhesive elements which form the essential contact surface of the launching device with the upper section of the pool edge.
  • the support unit has a base plate and detachably connected supports.
  • the supports also have a modular structure consisting of a plurality of support elements that are detachably connected to one another.
  • the individual support elements should be designed to be identical or at least suitably similar to one another, so that the number of support elements used to construct the supports can be varied. This allows a needs-based variation of the height of the supports and thus the height of the jumping platform above the water surface, which is of practical interest in particular for training purposes.
  • suitably dimensioned plug-in connections can also be used in addition to screw connections.
  • the supports could be constructed from cylindrical support elements, which have a pressed-in bolt on one of their flat surfaces and an opening suitable for receiving the bolt on the other flat surface.
  • the lateral surfaces of the support elements could be provided with a structure or a rubber coating to make them easier to handle when setting up or dismantling in wet conditions.
  • the jump platform, the support unit and the fastening means are detachably connected to one another, whereby the connection and release can also be done without tools, i.e. manually.
  • screw connections can be used, for example, and in an advantageous embodiment these should be designed in such a way that the proper construction of the starting device is possible purely manually without the aid of tools, i.e. can be carried out freely by hand.
  • the solvability also enables individual components to be easily replaced.
  • the forces occurring during operation of the starting device must be taken into account.
  • the two main force components act on the starting device vertically downwards towards the edge of the pool and horizontally away from the swimming pool.
  • horizontal forces can also occur along the edge of the pool and in the direction of the swimming pool.
  • the horizontal force that occurs when jumping from the jumping platform and is directed away from the swimming pool can be supported by at least one arm held on the support unit, which protrudes downward into the swimming pool and is brought into contact with the swimming pool wall.
  • the arm held on the support unit which protrudes downward into the swimming pool and is brought into contact with the swimming pool wall.
  • it should also be equipped with one or more adhesive elements.
  • the adhesive elements provided on the fastening means can be formed, for example, by suction cups, which are attached individually or in groups under the feet or on the side of the arms facing the pool wall. Since the top of swimming pool edges usually has tiles with a structured, e.g. grooved, surface, the use of a large number of small suction cups under the feet can be advantageous in order to ensure that a sufficient number of suction cups are always subject to the negative pressure required for adhesion.
  • the feet can of course also be formed using the adhesive elements themselves, in particular the suction cups or adhesive mats.
  • the adhesive elements can also be represented by adhesive mats.
  • Soft elastomers are particularly suitable as adhesive mats, which, when placed under the feet, interlock with the surface of the pool edge due to their pronounced elasticity and stabilize the launch device against sideways slipping.
  • adhesive mats with removable adhesives can also be used to improve adhesion.
  • the supporting effect of the feet used as fastening means can advantageously be further increased by arranging one or more of the feet in a movable manner by means of, for example, an extendable rail, so that they can be extended in particular on the side of the launching device facing away from the edge of the swimming pool.
  • Such movable feet can also be used to further optimize the contact situation between the adhesive elements and the edge of the pool by removing objects that hinder the attachment, e.g. Water return with grid-shaped cover embedded in the edge of the pool, as contact partners for the adhesive elements can be avoided.
  • the adhesive elements on the arms attached to the pool wall should also be arranged so that they can move, e.g. they can be moved along slots.
  • the support unit can comprise a base plate and supports detachably connected thereto.
  • the spatial dimensions of the components can be designed in such a way that, when dismantled, they can be arranged relative to one another in such a way that transport is practical without the aid of a suitcase or other additional container.
  • a jumping platform with a square outline which includes the following components: a jumping platform with a square outline, four supports each consisting of five equally dimensioned support elements, a base plate with a square outline corresponding to the jumping platform, and as fastening means four identical, truncated cone-shaped feet of the same height as the support elements and two identical, strip-shaped arms, the largest edge length of which is smaller than the side length of the square outline of the jumping platform and the second longest edge of which is smaller than or equal to the height of the support elements.
  • the jumping platform and the base plate also each have a web running along their outline, the height of which is at least half the height of the Support elements.
  • the launching device should be dimensioned in such a way that, when dismantled, all of the support elements, feet and arms can be arranged next to one another on the base plate within the surrounding web.
  • the take-off platform can then be placed on this arrangement in such a way that the top surfaces of the webs of the base plate and take-off platform are in line.
  • the launching device takes on the character of a closed case, the shell of which is formed from the take-off platform and the base platform, and inside which the support unit and the fastening means according to the invention are stowed.
  • the take-off platform and base plate should be suitably connectable to one another, e.g. by means of bracket clamps provided on the side surfaces.
  • a handle should advantageously be provided on one side of the take-off platform or base plate in order to enable the launching device to be easily carried when folded up in this way.
  • Figure 1 shows a three-dimensional view of an advantageous embodiment of the starting device 100 according to the invention with a jump platform 1, a base plate 21 and four supports 22, as well as four feet 31 and two arms 32 as support unit 2 comprising fastening means.
  • the arms 32 each include two strip-shaped ones arranged at right angles to one another Sections and are connected to the base plate 21.
  • the arrangement on the swimming pool edge 50 is such that the feet 31 with the adhesive elements 41 underneath are on the pool edge top A of the swimming pool edge 50, while the arms 32 extend down into the pool and with their adhesive elements 42 in contact with the vertical pool wall B of the swimming pool edge 50 to be brought.
  • the top 10 of the jumping platform 1 is inclined by a few degrees towards the water surface to improve the swimmer's starting position.
  • Each of the four supports 22 includes five support elements 221, which are releasably connected to one another via screw connections 6.
  • the supports 22 are connected to the base plate 21 and the jump platform 1 via screw connections 5.
  • the support elements 221 can be provided in larger numbers for a larger height of the top 10 of the jumping platform 1 or in smaller numbers for a smaller height of the top 10 of the jumping platform 1.
  • the support elements 221 can be made of plastic, stainless steel or a combination thereof, for example. It is also conceivable that the support elements 221 form sleeve sections that have screw threads at the ends that could replace the screw connections 6, so that the supports 22 are designed as tubular elements made of several tubular segments screwed together.
  • the feet 31 are designed as cylinders with, for example, a truncated cone-shaped end, on the underside of which the adhesive elements 41 are attached.
  • a step can be present on the back of the starting device 100 as part of the starting device 100 or as a separate part, for example with half the height in relation to the height of the top 10 of the jump platform 1.
  • Figure 2 shows the side view of the embodiment, but as a modification with two rails 23 sunk into the base plate 22, to which the two rear feet 31 are attached.
  • the rear feet 31 can be pulled out of the base plate 21 parallel to the underside of the base plate 21 and arranged at a position further away from the edge of the swimming pool edge 50 on the top side of the pool edge A.
  • the rails 23 are shown in the retracted position.
  • FIG 3 is the same embodiment of the jumping platform 1 as in Figure 2 so that all identical reference numerals from Figure 2 also for Figure 3 apply, whereby in variation to Figure 2 in Figure 3 the rear feet 31 are now positioned further away from the edge of the pool rim 50 by means of extended rails 23 in order to achieve an improved support of the forces acting when a swimmer jumps off.
  • six feet 31 can also be provided on the upper side of the pool rim A to improve the stability of the starting device 100, of which four feet 31 are arranged in the corners of the base plate 21 and two feet 31 are arranged on the extendable rails 23.
  • the starting device 100 made of plastic or particularly preferably made of stainless steel, with the exception of the adhesive elements 41, 42.
  • the supports 22 can be made from stainless steel pipe sections and the jump platform 1 and the base plate 21, for example, can be made from a stamped and bent component in particular made of stainless steel.
