In der Einlegestrecke werden die Verpackungsmulden mit zu verpackenden Produkten befüllt. Die befüllten Verpackungsmulden werden anschließend in der Siegelstation mit einer Oberfolie verschlossen. Der Platzbedarf entlang der Produktionsrichtungen ist für viele Anwendungen besonders relevant, da oftmals bezüglich der Produktionsrichtung vor der eigentlichen Tiefziehverpackungsmaschine weitere Vorrichtungen angeordnet werden sollen. Beispielweise kann eine Aufschneidevorrichtung für zu verpackende Lebensmittel vor der Tiefziehverpackungsmaschine angeordnet werden. In der Einlegestrecke werden die in der Unterfolienbahn ausgebildeten Mulden mit zu verpackenden Produkten befüllt. Die Siegelstation ist der Einlegestrecke bezüglich der Produktionsrichtung nachgeordnet und umfasst ein Siegelwerkzeug zum Verschließen der Mulden mit einer Oberfolie. Insbesondere kann das Siegelwerkzeug ein Siegelwerkzeugoberteil und ein relativ dazu bewegliches Siegelwerkzeugunterteil umfassen. Die Tiefziehverpackungsmaschine umfasst des Weiteren eine Transporteinrichtung, die dazu ausgelegt ist, die Unterfolienbahn entlang der Produktionsrichtung durch die Vorbehandlungsstation, weiter zu der Formstation, noch weiter zu der Einlegestrecke und schließlich zu der Siegelstation zu fördern. Tiefziehverpackungsmaschine (1) mit einer Produktionsrichtung (P), wobei die Tiefziehverpackungsmaschine (1) Folgendes umfasst: eine Folienaufnahme (47) zum Aufnehmen einer Unterfolien-Vorratsrolle (49); eine Vorbehandlungsstation (5) zum Vorbehandeln der Unterfolienbahn (17); eine der Vorbehandlungsstation (5) bezüglich der Produktionsrichtung (P) nachgeordnete Formstation (7) mit einem Formwerkzeug (25) zum Ausbilden von Mulden (27) in der Unterfolienbahn (17) durch Tiefziehen; eine der Formstation (7) bezüglich der Produktionsrichtung (P) nachgeordnete Einlegestrecke (9) zum Befüllen der Mulden (27) mit Produkten (29); eine der Einlegestrecke (9) bezüglich der Produktionsrichtung (P) nachgeordnete Siegelstation (11) mit einem Siegelwerkzeug (37) zum Verschließen der Mulden (27) mit einer Oberfolie (35); eine Transporteinrichtung (15), die dazu ausgelegt ist, die Unterfolienbahn (17) entlang der Produktionsrichtung (P) durch die Vorbehandlungsstation (5), weiter zu der Formstation (7), noch weiter zu der Einlegestrecke (9) und schließlich zu der Siegelstation (11) zu fördern; und eine Umlenkeinheit (51), die dazu konfiguriert ist, die Unterfolienbahn (17) vor Erreichen der Vorbehandlungsstation (5) bezüglich einer vertikalen Achse (V) um einen Winkel (a) umzulenken, wobei die Umlenkeinheit (51) zumindest teilweise unterhalb der Vorbehandlungsstation (5) angeordnet ist.
