Description

Domaine de l'inventionField of the invention

The invention relates to a relief decoration provided with a fastener allowing it to be fixed to a part.

Arrière-plan de l'inventionBackground of the invention

Il est connu de fabriquer des heures index sous forme d'appliques, c'est-à-dire des pièces massives qui sont usinées puis rapportées sur le cadran par exemple par rivetage des pieds de chaque applique dans le corps du cadranIt is known to manufacture hour markers in the form of appliques, that is to say massive parts which are machined and then attached to the dial, for example by riveting the feet of each applique in the body of the dial.

The document CH 201 862 A discloses, for example, a method of manufacturing a decoration provided with at least one fastener and comprising the steps of forming an envelope of material, the outer surface of which forms the visible part in relief of the decoration, and in forming said at least a clip.

The manufacture, necessarily individually, of such appliques is complicated in particular because of the difficulties in coloring and finishing the visible faces.

Résumé de l'inventionSummary of the invention

The aim of the present invention is to overcome all or part of the drawbacks mentioned above by proposing an automatable manufacturing process which uses less material, makes possible a greater variety of materials while guaranteeing colors and finish which are suitable for reducing the rate of scum.

    • a1 ) former une empreinte (3) dudit décor dans un substrat (1);
    • a2) recouvrir ladite empreinte d'une couche de matière (7) ;
  2. b) former ladite au moins une attache ;
To this end, the invention relates to a method of manufacturing a decoration provided with a fastener comprising the following steps:
  1. a) forming an envelope of material, the outer surface of which forms the visible part in relief of the decoration, said step comprising the following phases:
    • a1) forming an imprint (3) of said decoration in a substrate (1);
    • a2) covering said imprint with a layer of material (7);
  2. b) forming said at least one fastener;
  3. c) securing said at least one fastener directly against the internal surface (Si) of the envelope (9) of the decoration (15) formed during step a) before filling the volume of the cavity defined by the envelope.

It is therefore understood that the process allows the manufacture of a relief decoration provided with at least one fastener whose envelope forms a "skin" of material, that is to say a predetermined thickness of material, the rest of the material. volume being hollowed out of said material, which makes it possible to very appreciably reduce the cost of the material and the mass of the decoration.

It is thus possible, for example, to manufacture a wall lamp whose visible surface in relief is formed from a precious metal, such as gold, while limiting its intrinsic cost by not using the material to precious metal base only for the thickness of the envelope and not the entire decor.

In addition, the material used for said at least one fastener can be, advantageously according to the invention, completely independent of the material used for the envelope. It is thus possible, by way of example, to manufacture a fastener in a more usual metal such as brass or in a polymer material allowing varied shaping.

Finally, the process comprising fewer steps, it can be automated, that is to say that the manufacture can be partially or totally carried out using automatic devices in order to lower the cost of the decorations.

  • l'étape a) comporte les phases a4) : se munir d'une feuille de matière puis a5) : déformer la feuille de matière de façon à former une enveloppe de matière et, éventuellement, a6) : retirer ladite enveloppe du reste de la feuille afin d'obtenir une enveloppe dont la surface externe forme la partie visible en relief dudit décor ;

Description détaillée des modes de réalisation préférésDetailed description of the preferred embodiments

The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a relief decoration provided with a fastener which can, for example, form all or part of a flange, a dial, an applique or a needle. 'a timepiece. Indeed, for aesthetic and durability reasons, these decorations are generally made from materials that are not very sensitive to the oxidizing atmosphere of the air. It is quite common for high-end timepieces that the hour markers, dial or hands are formed from precious metal, such as gold, which makes it very expensive to dress the timepieces. .

With the aim of making the decorations even based on precious metal more affordable, the present process comprises a first step a) intended to form an envelope of material, the external surface S E of which forms the visible part in relief of the decoration.

It is therefore understood that the decoration comprises an envelope in relief which forms a "skin" of material, that is to say a predetermined thickness of material, the rest of the volume being hollowed out of said material, which makes it possible to reduce very substantially the cost of the material and the mass of the decor. It is thus possible, for example, to manufacture a wall lamp whose visible surface in relief is formed from a precious metal, such as gold, while limiting its intrinsic cost by not using the material to precious metal base only for the thickness of the envelope and not the entire decor.

According to the invention, the first step a) 2 comprises a first phase a1) intended to form an imprint 3 of said decoration in a substrate 1 as visible at the figure 1A . The substrate 1 can be of various kinds, for example based on silicon, ceramic or metal.

Step a), according to the invention, continues with a second phase a2) intended to cover the imprint 3 with a layer of material 7 intended to form the envelope 9 of the future decoration. The layer of material 7 can, for example, be deposited by galvanic growth, by physical vapor deposition (known by the English abbreviation "PVD"), by chemical vapor deposition (known by the English abbreviation "CVD" ), by atomic layer deposition (known by the English abbreviation "ALD") or by any other additive method.

As shown in figure 1B and 1C depending on the nature of the envelope 9 desired, that of the substrate 1 and the deposition process, the second phase a2) can comprise a preparation of the substrate 1 and then, only afterwards, the deposition of the material 7 of the envelope 9.

As shown in figure 1B , the preparation of the substrate 1 is intended to make possible the adhesion of the material 7 on the substrate 1. The preparation can thus consist in making at least a part of the upper surface of the substrate 1 rougher and / or depositing a layer of bonding on at least part of the upper surface of substrate 1 and / or depositing a technical layer on at least part of the upper surface of substrate 1 allowing the deposition of material 7 as illustrated in figure 1C .

Of course, depending on the deposition method, the layer 7 can be deposited on all or part of the upper surface of the substrate 1 and at least so as to cover without necessarily completely filling the imprint 3 with the future decoration 15.

Cet exemple permet de réaliser plusieurs enveloppes 9 différentes ou identiques sur le même substrat 1, c'est-à-dire fabriquer en série des enveloppes 9.In a non-limiting manner, the example of figures 1B to 1D proposes to deposit an electrically conductive layer 5 on the entire upper surface of the substrate 1 by physical vapor deposition, to deposit the layer 7 by galvanic growth from the layer 5, that is to say on the entire upper surface of the substrate 1 then to leave the layer 7 only in the imprint 3 in order to form the envelope 9. This example makes it possible to make several different or identical envelopes 9 on the same substrate 1, that is to say to manufacture in series of envelopes 9.

Furthermore ; alternatively, it is also possible to deposit directly and only in each cavity 3, the layer 7, that is to say to pass directly from the figure 1A to the figure 1D .

Une autre technique alternative peut être l'utilisation d'un masque pochoir sur la trajectoire de la matière à déposer parfois appelé en anglais « stencil lithography ».By way of example, it is thus possible to use a sacrificial layer not covering the impression 3 which, after the deposition of the layer 7, would be removed leaving the layer 7 only in the impression 3. This technique is known by the English terms "lift-off". Another alternative technique can be the use of a stencil mask on the trajectory of the material to be deposited, sometimes called “stencil lithography”.

According to a second embodiment, step a) comprises a first phase a4) intended to be provided with a sheet of the material intended to form the envelope 9 of the decoration 15. The step could then continue with the second phase a5) intended to deform the sheet of material so as to form said envelope of material. Similarly to the first embodiment, several different or identical envelopes 9 could be produced on the same sheet of material, that is to say mass-produced envelopes 9. The sheet could also be advantageously used as a support.

For example, a sheet of amorphous metal alloy based on a precious metal, such as based on palladium or platinum, can be used. Indeed, such an amorphous metal alloy is easy to deform when it is heated between its glass transition temperature and its crystallization temperature. In addition, it advantageously comprises a very high elastic limit making it possible to be particularly indicated for an application to a covering part.

Thus, in the case of an amorphous metal alloy, the second phase a5) could, for example, be obtained by stamping (also known under the English term "stamping") or by blow molding (also known under the English terms " blow molding ”).

Finally, according to a third embodiment, step a) comprises a first phase a7) intended to form a mold of said decoration such as for example by means of photolithography in order to form several levels of photosensitive resin structured according to the pattern of the future decor. This third embodiment could be a positive alternative of the first embodiment, that is to say instead of creating an imprint 3 destructively, it is formed additively, for example by photolithography.

According to the third embodiment, step a) comprises a second phase a8) intended to cover the mold with material in order to form one directly or indirectly the envelope 9 of material. In fact, depending on the shape of the decoration 15, either the mold is covered with the layer 7 in a manner similar to the first embodiment, or the mold is filled to form a massive blank which is subsequently hollowed out to indirectly obtain the envelope. 9.

Whatever the embodiment of the first step a), the method makes it possible to form an outer surface S E of envelope 9 which will have a color and a finish which will depend on the deposition method, the material deposited and the roughness. of the substrate 1, of the sheet or of the mold, in a very reproducible manner.

Quel que soit le mode de réalisation de la première étape a), le procédé se poursuit avec la deuxième étape b) destinée à monter, contre la surface interne Si de l'enveloppe 9, au moins une attache 13 agencée pour fixer le décor 15.Whatever the embodiment of the first step a), the method continues with the second step b) intended to mount, against the internal surface Si of the casing 9, at least one fastener 13 arranged to fix the decoration 15 .

It is thus possible, by way of example, to manufacture a fastener 13 in a more metal. usual such as brass or polymer material allowing varied shaping without modifying either the color or the finish of the outer surface S E of the casing 9.

According to a first embodiment, step b) comprises a first phase b1) intended to form said at least one fastener 13 then a second phase b2) intended to secure said at least one fastener against the internal surface Si of the casing 9 formed during step a) as illustrated in figure 2B .

Phase b1) can, advantageously according to the invention, be carried out according to any type of preferred process. Indeed, the clip (or clips) provided not being dependent (s) on the material chosen for the casing 9, no restriction as to the material of said at least one clip 13 or as to the method of manufacturing said at least one fastener 13, is not to be deplored.

For example, the figure 2B has a clip in the form of a prismatic volume with a circular section. Of course, several fasteners 13 could alternately be formed during phase b1) in one piece or not. Indeed, one can imagine in the manner of a clip that two fasteners 13 are connected with the aid of a base forming a single-piece element or that several independent fasteners 13 are formed.

In fact, depending on the attachment (or attachments) provided and the envelope 9 provided, several types of connection can be envisaged. In a nonlimiting manner, it is possible to envisage gluing, welding or brazing each clip 13 against the internal surface Si of the casing 9.

Cet exemple permet de réaliser plusieurs décors 15 différents ou identiques sur le même substrat 1, c'est-à-dire, une fois libérés du substrat 1, fabriquer en série des décors 15.In a non-limiting manner, the example of figures 2B to 2D proposes to deposit a securing material 11, such as glue, against the internal surface Si of the casing 9 and then adjusting said at least one fastener 13 via the layer of securing material 11 against the internal surface Si of the envelope 9. This example makes it possible to produce several different or identical decorations 15 on the same substrate 1, that is to say, once released from the substrate 1, to manufacture decorations 15 in series.

Note that this advantage is retained even for the other two embodiments of step a), that is to say respectively by using the same sheet or the same mold.

According to an embodiment not forming part of the invention as claimed, step b) may alternatively comprise a phase b3) intended to fill the internal surface Si of the casing 9 with a material, forming said at least a fastener 13. Indeed, it can be imagined, for example, the injection of a polymer material adhering against the internal surface Si of the casing 9 and of which the (or them) injection core (s) make it possible to form said at least one fastener 13. Of course, said at least one fastener 13 can be obtained by using a die over the casing 9 making it possible to give a predetermined shape for injection.

We therefore notice that the process has fewer steps than the manufacture of a traditional wall light. It is also immediate that the use respectively of the substrate 1, of the sheet or of the mold, makes the process automatable, that is to say that the manufacture can be partially or totally carried out using automatons in order to lower the cost of decorations 15.

In a non-limiting manner, in the example of figures 2C, 3 and 4 , a decoration 15 is obtained formed by an envelope 9 in relief formed for example based on gold, the outer surface S E of which determines the visible part of the decoration 15. It is apparent that a recess 17 can be provided in order to receive, for example, a luminescent substance such as superluminova or create a particular aesthetic form.

The decoration 15 further comprises a fastener 13 secured against the internal surface Si of the casing 9 using an adhesive 11. The fastener 13, once fixed, for example by riveting in the hole of a dial , will be completely hidden and only the external surface S E will remain visible without being able to differentiate the decoration 15 from a traditional wall light as regards its color and its finish.

En particulier, à la fin de l'étape a), l'enveloppe 9 pourrait être retirée du substrat 1, de la feuille ou le moule avant d'effectuer l'étape b).Of course, the present invention is not limited to the example illustrated but is susceptible of various variants and modifications which will appear to those skilled in the art. In particular, at the end of step a), the envelope 9 could be removed from the substrate 1, from the sheet or from the mold before performing step b).

In addition, the internal surface S I of the casing 9 could also have a shape, such as a groove or a rib, intended to improve the adhesion and / or the positioning of said at least one fastener.

Finally, in the case of a recovery as illustrated in figure 1C , it can also be envisaged to remove the excess material 7 not during step a) but at the end of step b) without losing the advantages of the invention.
