Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a flat floor covering for covering an access area of a passenger conveyor and to a passenger conveyor equipped therewith and a method for converting a passenger conveyor.
  • Passenger conveyors such as escalators or moving walks generally serve to convey people or objects standing on a step belt provided with steps or a pallet belt provided with pallets, standing upright along an inclined or horizontal path.
  • the steps or pallets are shifted by means of a conveyor along the inclined or horizontal path, so that, for example, a person can enter the person conveyor in a first access area and climb onto one of the steps or one of the pallets and then together with them to an am opposite second end of the passenger conveyor to be conveyed where the person can leave the passenger conveyor again.
  • a flat floor cover is generally used as a walkable floor to cover an opening of an underfloor space with, for example, technical facilities of the passenger conveyor, so that people can move across the access area to the moving steps or Pallets can reach.
  • a deflection axis with deflection sprockets can be arranged and, on the other hand, a drive, its control and a drive train with a drive shaft and drive sprockets can be accommodated.
  • the floor cover can be in one of the access areas of the passenger conveyor on the one hand for a walkable and as flush as possible Ensure transition between, for example, a floor of the surrounding structure and the step or pallet belt moved in the passenger conveyor.
  • the base cover can often be designed to be removable or foldable, in order to then be able to get into the space underneath with the components of the passenger conveying device accommodated therein, in order, for example, to be able to repair or maintain it.
  • the EP 0 661 229 B1 discloses an angled frame connected to the construction parts of a passenger conveyor, which serves as a base cover for a cover element.
  • the angle frame can be adjusted in the vertical and horizontal position using screws and nuts.
  • the support surface of the angle frame is covered with an elastic profile, this elastic profile being positively connected on the underside to the horizontal leg of the angle profile of the angle frame.
  • the cover element since the deflection area of the step belt of the escalator or the pallet belt of the moving walk is usually located in the underfloor space below the floor cover, the cover element must be arranged securely on the floor cover support, so that regardless of the direction of force and the point of application of force, one acting on the cover element , external force, this under no circumstances slips, lifts or tilts on the floor covering support and unintentionally releases an opening to the room with the technical equipment.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a floor covering which takes into account the aforementioned requirements and largely rules out incorrect installation.
  • the base cover has a base cover support and at least one cover element. Through the floor cover is the opening of an underfloor or space on the pit side of the passenger conveyor towards the surrounding, accessible floor can be closed flush with at least one cover element placed on the floor covering support.
  • the base cover includes at least one device that is at least partially arranged between the base cover support and the at least one cover element. By means of this device, the only possible correct installation position of the at least one cover element on a floor cover support is predetermined. When installed correctly, the device ensures that the cover element is arranged flush on the base cover support. In the event of incorrect installation, at least part of the cover element on the base cover support is visibly protruding or elevated due to the device.
  • the device As a result of the visible protrusion of at least part of the cover element, it is immediately apparent that the cover element has not been installed correctly.
  • the device thus indicates a dangerous state even for laypeople and forces the defect to be checked and remedied.
  • the device can be designed differently in order to achieve a visible protrusion of the cover element when incorrectly installed. Depending on the design of the device, this or parts thereof is arranged between the base cover support of the base cover and the at least one cover element.
  • the device can comprise at least one elastic element and a fastening means.
  • the at least one cover element is held in the visible projecting position by the elastic element until the cover element is correctly connected to the base cover support by the fastening means.
  • the elastic element can be a block of elastic material or a spring element which is arranged, for example, on the base cover support. If a cover element is now placed on the base cover support, the spring element holds at least part of the cover element on the base cover support in a visibly protruding position. In order to bring the cover element into the correct installation position, it must be pressed against the spring force of the elastic element onto the base cover support and fixed in this position by the fastening means.
  • the Fastening means can be, for example, a screw connection or a locking device. A screw connection has the advantage that it can be used to compress the elastic element.
  • the proposed first embodiment also monitors the fastening means in a simple manner. As soon as the screw connection or the locking device is released, the elastic element moves the cover element back into the incorrect installation position, which is visually perceptible without problems.
  • the device and in particular the locking device can have a wide variety of forms. It can be a rotary bolt or a sliding bolt, for example.
  • the locking device can also be combined with a lock, for example with a cylinder lock.
  • the elastic element also does not necessarily have to be arranged separately from the fastening means. For example, a so-called spring catch (spring bolt) with a snap-in lug can be used, the latch of which is held up by the elastic element and the cover element is thus arranged so as to protrude in the incorrect installation position until the spring clip catches the correct installation position by actuating and snapping it into place ,
  • the device can have at least one projection on the cover element and a recess on the base cover support corresponding to this projection.
  • the at least one recess can also be formed on the cover element and a projection corresponding to this recess on the base cover support. If the installation position is correct, the projection protrudes into the recess and if the installation position is incorrect, the at least one cover element is either arranged so that it protrudes by the protrusion of the projection, or it protrudes and protrudes above the base cover.
  • the projection and the recess extend in a parallel plane to the planar extent of the cover element or to the floor cover support, so that any engagement moments of the cover element arranged on the floor cover support are absorbed solely by the device due to the engagement of the projection in the recess.
  • Bringing the cover element into the correct installation position is not enough by simply placing it on the base cover support.
  • the cover element When the cover element is placed on the base cover support, it must still be moved in the direction of the extension of the projection until it has reached the correct installation position. If it is only placed on it, but not moved, it will not fit into the floor covering support and will stick out with one side above it.
  • the cover element must be made of several parts or have at least one joint point so that the projection can be inserted into the recess.
  • the projection is preferably a bar and the recess is a groove.
  • the strip can be created, for example, by arranging an angular profile on a lateral section of the floor covering support. A groove corresponding to the bar is then to be formed on the cover element as a recess.
  • the device can have at least one stop piece on the cover element and a recess on the base cover support corresponding to this stop piece.
  • the device can also have at least one stop piece on the base cover support and a recess on the cover element corresponding to this stop piece.
  • the cutout can also be formed on a cover element that can be installed downstream of the cover element. It applies to both versions that the stop piece protrudes into the recess when the installation position is correct and that the incorrectly installed position means that the at least one cover element is arranged so that it protrudes when the stop piece comes to rest.
  • the recess can be designed as a hole, slot, blind hole, groove, pocket, recess and the like.
  • the stop piece ensures the correct position of the cover element on the base cover support and leads to correct alignment of the support regions formed in the edge region of the cover element to the corresponding support locations formed on the base cover. If the installation position is correct, the stop piece protrudes into the recess and if the installation position is incorrect, the at least one cover element is arranged so that it protrudes visibly by the abutment of the stop piece.
  • the device can be developed in a further development of the above Execution also have at least one elastic element which is arranged in the region of an end face of the cover element which faces away from the stop piece or the recess.
  • This elastic element must be pressed together during assembly by pushing the cover element on the base cover support so that the cover element can be brought into the correct installation position between the elastic element and the stop piece. If the cover element is simply placed on the floor covering support, the stop piece is inevitably arranged offset to the recess due to the expanded elastic element, so that at least part of the cover element rests on the stop piece and is thus visibly projecting on the floor cover support.
  • a nose can also be arranged on the stop piece, which extends parallel to the planar extent of the base cover support.
  • a cover groove corresponding to the nose is then to be provided on the cover element, the nose being arranged so as to engage in the cover groove in the correct installation position of the cover element.
  • the device preferably also has at least one sensor or switch by means of which the correct or incorrect installation position of the cover element can be monitored.
  • the easiest way to do this is with a simple pressure switch or pushbutton which, for example, directly interrupts the energy supply to a drive motor of the passenger conveyor as soon as the cover element is in an incorrect installation position or is missing.
  • the cover element can also be monitored by means of a sensor which transmits corresponding signals to a control of the passenger conveyor. This can then trigger suitable measures such as immediate braking (emergency stop) of the step belt or pallet belt.

Description

The present invention relates to a flat floor covering for covering an access area of a passenger conveyor and to a passenger conveyor equipped therewith and a method for converting a passenger conveyor.

Passenger conveyors such as escalators or moving walks generally serve to convey people or objects standing on a step belt provided with steps or a pallet belt provided with pallets, standing upright along an inclined or horizontal path. The steps or pallets are shifted by means of a conveyor along the inclined or horizontal path, so that, for example, a person can enter the person conveyor in a first access area and climb onto one of the steps or one of the pallets and then together with them to an am opposite second end of the passenger conveyor to be conveyed where the person can leave the passenger conveyor again.

In the access areas at opposite ends of the step belt or pallet belt, a flat floor cover is generally used as a walkable floor to cover an opening of an underfloor space with, for example, technical facilities of the passenger conveyor, so that people can move across the access area to the moving steps or Pallets can reach. In the underfloor space, on the one hand, for example, a deflection axis with deflection sprockets can be arranged and, on the other hand, a drive, its control and a drive train with a drive shaft and drive sprockets can be accommodated.

The floor cover can be in one of the access areas of the passenger conveyor on the one hand for a walkable and as flush as possible Ensure transition between, for example, a floor of the surrounding structure and the step or pallet belt moved in the passenger conveyor. On the other hand, the base cover can often be designed to be removable or foldable, in order to then be able to get into the space underneath with the components of the passenger conveying device accommodated therein, in order, for example, to be able to repair or maintain it.

The EP 0 661 229 B1 discloses an angled frame connected to the construction parts of a passenger conveyor, which serves as a base cover for a cover element. For a flush and seamless transition to the surrounding floor, the angle frame can be adjusted in the vertical and horizontal position using screws and nuts. To dampen the footsteps when walking on the floor cover, the support surface of the angle frame is covered with an elastic profile, this elastic profile being positively connected on the underside to the horizontal leg of the angle profile of the angle frame.

As mentioned above, since the deflection area of the step belt of the escalator or the pallet belt of the moving walk is usually located in the underfloor space below the floor cover, the cover element must be arranged securely on the floor cover support, so that regardless of the direction of force and the point of application of force, one acting on the cover element , external force, this under no circumstances slips, lifts or tilts on the floor covering support and unintentionally releases an opening to the room with the technical equipment.

The invention has for its object to provide a floor covering which takes into account the aforementioned requirements and largely rules out incorrect installation.

This object is achieved by a floor covering of an access area of a passenger conveyor which is designed as an escalator or moving walk. The base cover has a base cover support and at least one cover element. Through the floor cover is the opening of an underfloor or space on the pit side of the passenger conveyor towards the surrounding, accessible floor can be closed flush with at least one cover element placed on the floor covering support. The base cover includes at least one device that is at least partially arranged between the base cover support and the at least one cover element.

As a result of the visible protrusion of at least part of the cover element, it is immediately apparent that the cover element has not been installed correctly. The device thus indicates a dangerous state even for laypeople and forces the defect to be checked and remedied. The device can be designed differently in order to achieve a visible protrusion of the cover element when incorrectly installed. Depending on the design of the device, this or parts thereof is arranged between the base cover support of the base cover and the at least one cover element.

In one embodiment of the invention, the device can comprise at least one elastic element and a fastening means. The at least one cover element is held in the visible projecting position by the elastic element until the cover element is correctly connected to the base cover support by the fastening means.

The elastic element can be a block of elastic material or a spring element which is arranged, for example, on the base cover support. The Fastening means can be, for example, a screw connection or a locking device. A screw connection has the advantage that it can be used to compress the elastic element. The proposed first embodiment also monitors the fastening means in a simple manner. As soon as the screw connection or the locking device is released, the elastic element moves the cover element back into the incorrect installation position, which is visually perceptible without problems.

In addition, the device and in particular the locking device can have a wide variety of forms. It can be a rotary bolt or a sliding bolt, for example. The locking device can also be combined with a lock, for example with a cylinder lock. The elastic element also does not necessarily have to be arranged separately from the fastening means. For example, a so-called spring catch (spring bolt) with a snap-in lug can be used, the latch of which is held up by the elastic element and the cover element is thus arranged so as to protrude in the incorrect installation position until the spring clip catches the correct installation position by actuating and snapping it into place ,

In a further embodiment of the invention, the device can have at least one projection on the cover element and a recess on the base cover support corresponding to this projection. Of course, the at least one recess can also be formed on the cover element and a projection corresponding to this recess on the base cover support. If the installation position is correct, the projection protrudes into the recess and if the installation position is incorrect, the at least one cover element is either arranged so that it protrudes by the protrusion of the projection, or it protrudes and protrudes above the base cover.

For this purpose, the projection and the recess extend in a parallel plane to the planar extent of the cover element or to the floor cover support, so that any engagement moments of the cover element arranged on the floor cover support are absorbed solely by the device due to the engagement of the projection in the recess. To do that Bringing the cover element into the correct installation position is not enough by simply placing it on the base cover support. When the cover element is placed on the base cover support, it must still be moved in the direction of the extension of the projection until it has reached the correct installation position. If it is only placed on it, but not moved, it will not fit into the floor covering support and will stick out with one side above it. If necessary, the cover element must be made of several parts or have at least one joint point so that the projection can be inserted into the recess.

The projection is preferably a bar and the recess is a groove. The strip can be created, for example, by arranging an angular profile on a lateral section of the floor covering support. A groove corresponding to the bar is then to be formed on the cover element as a recess.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the device can have at least one stop piece on the cover element and a recess on the base cover support corresponding to this stop piece. Of course, the device can also have at least one stop piece on the base cover support and a recess on the cover element corresponding to this stop piece. If there are several cover elements, the cutout can also be formed on a cover element that can be installed downstream of the cover element. It applies to both versions that the stop piece protrudes into the recess when the installation position is correct and that the incorrectly installed position means that the at least one cover element is arranged so that it protrudes when the stop piece comes to rest. The recess can be designed as a hole, slot, blind hole, groove, pocket, recess and the like. The stop piece ensures the correct position of the cover element on the base cover support and leads to correct alignment of the support regions formed in the edge region of the cover element to the corresponding support locations formed on the base cover. If the installation position is correct, the stop piece protrudes into the recess and if the installation position is incorrect, the at least one cover element is arranged so that it protrudes visibly by the abutment of the stop piece.

Furthermore, the device can be developed in a further development of the above Execution also have at least one elastic element which is arranged in the region of an end face of the cover element which faces away from the stop piece or the recess. This elastic element must be pressed together during assembly by pushing the cover element on the base cover support so that the cover element can be brought into the correct installation position between the elastic element and the stop piece. If the cover element is simply placed on the floor covering support, the stop piece is inevitably arranged offset to the recess due to the expanded elastic element, so that at least part of the cover element rests on the stop piece and is thus visibly projecting on the floor cover support.

Furthermore, a nose can also be arranged on the stop piece, which extends parallel to the planar extent of the base cover support. A cover groove corresponding to the nose is then to be provided on the cover element, the nose being arranged so as to engage in the cover groove in the correct installation position of the cover element. This modification of the stop piece enables the tilting moments of the cover element arranged on the base cover support to be absorbed solely by the device.

The device preferably also has at least one sensor or switch by means of which the correct or incorrect installation position of the cover element can be monitored. The easiest way to do this is with a simple pressure switch or pushbutton which, for example, directly interrupts the energy supply to a drive motor of the passenger conveyor as soon as the cover element is in an incorrect installation position or is missing. Of course, the cover element can also be monitored by means of a sensor which transmits corresponding signals to a control of the passenger conveyor. This can then trigger suitable measures such as immediate braking (emergency stop) of the step belt or pallet belt.

Since the floor covering of a moving walk or an escalator usually extends over a fairly large area, a cover element which spans the entire area is very heavy. To handle for assembly and To facilitate maintenance personnel, the base cover can also have a plurality of cover elements which lie on the base cover support and are arranged one after the other. According to the invention, at least one device is provided which forces the only possible correct installation position of at least one of the cover elements. Of at least one cover element, because the danger potential of a missing or incorrectly installed cover element can vary depending on its position in the order of the cover elements. For example, an incorrectly installed first cover element, which is then arranged on the comb plate on the base cover support, harbors very high risks for a user, since beneath this first cover element there are moving parts of the step belt or pallet belt that could immediately catch a falling person and could be life-threatening. Cover elements, which are arranged further away from the comb plate on the floor covering support, on the other hand, cover a less critical or dangerous area of the underfloor space in which, for example, the control cabinet and further electrical installations are arranged. Of course, at least one device can be provided for each cover element. The individual cover elements can have connecting elements on the end faces that face other cover elements in the assembled state. These can be configured, for example, as a tongue and groove.

A floor covering with several covering elements also has the advantage that only as many covering elements as necessary have to be removed if the access to the room with the technical facilities is to be exposed by removing the at least one covering element.

In order to make the at least partial projecting of an incorrectly mounted cover element even more perceptible, at least one side surface of the cover element can be provided with a signal color. Instead of or in combination with the signal color, the side surface can also have at least one reflective element. Of course, at least one illuminant can also be provided on the side surface for the same purpose, alone or in combination with a signal color and / or a reflective element. The illuminant can be used continuously or flashing. Preferably that is Illuminant connected in such a way that its energy supply is interrupted immediately as soon as the cover element is in its correct installation position. Alternatively, the illuminant can be connected to the energy source in such a way that it does not light or flash when the cover element is in the incorrect installation position and lights up continuously when the cover element is arranged in the correct installation position on the base cover support. In this case, it is advantageous if the light from the illuminant can reach the access area in order to illuminate it for the user and / or to indicate the direction in which the step belt or pallet belt runs.

When installing the base cover, the at least one cover element is placed on the base cover support. Then the cover element is brought into an intended, correct installation position at least by pushing and / or inserting a fastening means. This is followed by a visual check as to whether at least part of the cover element protrudes visibly from the base cover support. If this is the case, it must be checked whether the cover element is in its intended position on the base cover support and, if present, whether the fastener is correctly installed and, if necessary, is sufficiently tightened.

Of course, the invention cannot only be used in new escalators or moving walks. For example, an existing floor covering can be replaced by a floor covering according to the invention and an existing moving walk can thereby be modernized. Of course, it is also possible to supplement an existing floor cover with at least one device which is at least partially arranged between the floor cover support and the at least one cover element. As a result, a single possible, correct installation position on the floor covering support is also specified for the existing cover element, with the mounting element being flush with the floor covering support and its surrounding floor forming a flat, walkable surface, lying on the floor cover support and due to incorrect installation if the installation is correct the device is arranged at least a part of the cover element on the floor cover support protruding visibly.

Figure 1 schematically shows in side view a passenger conveyor 100, which is designed as an escalator and connects a first floor E1 with a second floor E2. The passenger conveyor 100 has a supporting structure 106 or truss 106 with two deflection areas 107, 108, between which a step belt 105, which is only partially shown, is guided all around. The step belt has traction means 109, on which steps 104 are arranged. A handrail 103 is arranged on a balustrade 102. The balustrade 102 is connected to the supporting structure 106 at the lower end by means of a balustrade base 110. The person conveyor device 100 or its step belt 105 can be entered via access areas 111, 112 present at both ends of the person conveyor device 100. The accessible surfaces of the access areas 111, 112 are floor coverings 1, which each close the opening of an underfloor space 113, 114 of the passenger conveyor 100 to the surrounding, accessible floor 115 of the floors E1, E2.

Of course, the passenger conveyor 100 could also be designed as a moving walk, with a pallet belt running all around instead of a step belt is arranged and the middle part has no slope or a smaller slope than an escalator.

Figure 2 shows the in Figure 1 "A" designated section of the access area 111 arranged on the floor E1 in a larger representation, so that details of the floor cover 1 can be seen better. The bottom cover 1 shown in cross section has a plurality of cover elements 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. The first cover element 2, which in the Figure 2 on the right, in the area of the balustrade base 110, is designed as a hollow profile with transverse webs 9 and lies with its tapering right side 8 on a comb plate 18 belonging to a safety device. Its left side ends in a separating point 7. The cover element 3 adjoining on the left is designed in cross section as a rectangular hollow profile with transverse webs 9 and the further cover elements 4 to 6 are also constructed identically as hollow profiles with a rectangular cross section and transverse webs 9. The cover elements 2 to 6 can be connected to one another on the end face at the separation points 7 with suitable connecting elements 14 such as, for example, with a tongue and groove. The left end face of the cover elements 2 to 6 have, for example, a groove and the right end face of the cover elements 3 to 6 has a tongue. A floor cover support 12 designed as an angular frame is fastened to the supporting structure 106 by means of adjusting screws 10, 11, so that the floor cover support 12 can be leveled onto the level of the surrounding, accessible floor 115 of the floor E1. The floor cover support 12 closes the floor cover 2 on two long sides (covered by the floor cover) which extend in the access direction Z and a transverse side 13. All cover elements 2 to 6 are shown in their correct installation position.

When installing the base cover 1, the installation or maintenance personnel must take special care that the first cover element 2 with its tapering side 8 lies securely on the comb plate 18. In order to prevent slipping and tipping over, the first cover element 2 is firmly connected to the base cover support 12 in the region of its left end face 15 by means of a fastening means 16. The fastening means can be a screw connection 16, for example. Since this fastening means 16 is not visible when the base cover 1 is fully installed, it cannot be recognized if, for example, the due to an installation error Nut of screw connection 16 is missing.

In order to rule out this situation, the present invention provides that the base cover 1 contains at least one device 20, by means of which the only possible correct installation position of the at least one cover element 2 to 6 on the base cover support 12 is predetermined. The device 20 is at least partially arranged between the floor covering support 12 and the at least one covering element 2 to 6. Correct assembly is signaled by the fact that the cover element 2 to 6 is arranged so that it lies flush on the base cover support 12. If the assembly is incorrect, at least part of the cover element 2 to 6 on the base cover support 12 is arranged so that it protrudes visibly due to the device 20.

The device 20 and its arrangement in the base cover 1 can be designed in various ways. Five possible exemplary embodiments are described below.

The Figures 3 and 4 show a three-dimensional representation of a section of a first embodiment of a floor covering 1 with a device 20 as shown in FIG Figure 2 is shown. In the Figure 3 is that in the Figure 2 Part of the floor cover 1 designated as the first cover element 2 is shown in the incorrect installation position X 1 . As already described above, a missing or incorrect attachment of the fastening means 16 or the screw connection 16 between the first cover element 2 and the base cover support 12 represents a serious danger. This incorrect attachment is in the Figure 3 represented by the removed wing nut 17. A screw connection 16 with wing nut 17 is used when the base cover 1 has a plurality of cover elements 2, such as the Figure 2 shows. In order to indicate the incorrect installation position X 1 and thus the potential danger, the base cover 1 has the device 20, which comprises the fastening means 16 and an elastic element 21. A spring element 21, which is arranged on the base cover support 12, serves as the elastic element 21. Its spring tongue holds the end face 15 of the cover element 2 in the area of the separation point 7 in a raised and thus visibly projecting position X 1 to the adjacent floor (not shown) and to the cover element 3 of the base cover 1 adjoining at the end.

The floor covering support 12 can be a frame made of angle profiles. These angle profiles can be made of sheet steel, which are cut from a sheet metal plate by means of a stamping process and bent into angle profiles. In the course of punching out the sheet, the spring element 21 can also be co-embossed. Of course, the spring element 21 can also be manufactured as a separate component and then attached to the base cover support 12. All common spring types such as leaf springs, plate springs, helical compression springs, torsion springs, spiral springs, leg springs and the like can be used as spring elements 21, as long as they are suitable for visibly lifting and holding the assigned cover element 2 in an incorrectly installed position X 1 from the base cover support 12.

The cover element 2 is only in the correct installation position X 0 when the wing nut 17 of the fastening means 16 is mounted and tightened as shown in FIG Figure 4 is shown. The upper walkable surface 24, which is provided with a rib profile 23, is flush (X 0 = 0) with the walkable surface of the cover element 3, which is arranged adjacent to the correctly mounted first cover element 2 on the floor cover support 12.

The Figure 5 shows a sectional side view of a bottom cover 1 in a second embodiment which, similarly to the first exemplary embodiment, likewise comprises a device 30 with an elastic element 31 and a fastening means 32. The elastic element 31 is a block made of elastic material 31 such as foam or plastic-like deformable material such as cell polyurethanes. This foam can be attached to the floor covering support 12 by gluing or with mechanical fastening means and can also keep its elasticity compressed for decades. The size decreases when pressure is applied, and when the load is released, the elastic element 31 relaxes back into its original shape. A locking device 32, which is fastened to the base cover support 12 and consists of a bolt 33, a compression spring 34 and guides 35, 36, serves as fastening means 32. In the Figure 5 the latch 33 is shown in the release position, so that the locking device 32 releases the first cover element 2 and the elastic element 31 relaxes in it Original form is. Accordingly, it is clearly visible to everyone that the cover element 2, as shown, is in an incorrect installation position X 1 .

Instead of the illustrated, linearly displaceable latch 33, a rotary latch mounted in the cover element 2 can also be used, the axis of rotation of which is arranged vertically for the planar extent of the cover element 2. This rotary latch can be operated, for example, from the accessible surface of the cover element 2 with a special key.

As an alternative or in addition to the locking device 32, the screw connection 16 of the first embodiment can of course also be used in this embodiment with a block made of elastic material 31. This variant can easily be retrofitted on all existing passenger conveyors 100 and thereby considerably improve the safety of existing escalators or moving walks.

It is particularly advantageous if an incorrectly installed cover element 2 to 6 of the floor cover 1 directly influences the operating state of the passenger conveyor 100. To achieve this, as in the Figure 6 shown, the correct installation position X 0 of the cover element 2 to 6 are monitored by a sensor 25 or switch 25. A possible attachment of the sensor 25 or switch 25 shows Figure 6 in three-dimensional representation based on the first, in the Figures 3 and 4 Embodiment shown the bottom cover 1 with the device 20. For this purpose, a simple switch 25 can be used which, for example, directly interrupts the energy supply to a drive motor of the step belt 105 or pallet belt.

Alternatively, the switch 25 or sensor 25 can transmit a signal corresponding to the installation position of the cover element 2 to 6 to a controller of the passenger conveyor 100, so that if the installation position X 1 is incorrect (see Figures 3 and 5 ) the control immediately initiates or maintains the standstill of the step belt 105 or pallet belt and, with the correct installation position X 0, enables operation with respect to the base cover 1.

The Figure 7 shows a three-dimensional representation of a section of a third Exemplary embodiment of a floor cover 1. This floor cover 1 has a device 40 which comprises a stop piece 41 and an elastic element 42. The cover element 2 is shown in the correct installation position X 0 . The stop piece 41 is an incompressible solid, for example a bar made of steel, which is firmly connected to the base cover support 12. Its distance from the comb plate 18 corresponds to the width of the first cover element 2. The comb plate 18 has a support region 19 which is designed such that the tapered side 8 of the first cover element 2 can then be placed flush with the comb plate 18.

Between the side surface 43 of the first cover element 2 facing the comb plate 18 and the comb plate 18, the strip-shaped, elastic element 42 is arranged, which is shown in a compressed state. The elastic element 42 is not compressed to such an extent that the opposite side with the side surface 44 of the first cover element 2 is seated on the stop piece 41 and is thus arranged so as to protrude from the base cover support 12. In order to correctly mount the first cover element 2, it must be pressed against the comb plate 18 when it is placed on the base cover support 12, so that the elastic element 42 is pressed together until the opposite side surface 44 passes the stop piece 41 and this side of the first cover element 2 can be placed on the bottom cover pad 12.

It goes without saying that the cover element 3 (not shown) to be subsequently placed must have a recess corresponding to the stop piece 41, so that it does not rest on the stop piece 41 and is therefore arranged so as to protrude from the base cover support 12. The stop piece prevents the first cover element 2 from slipping and tipping away from the comb plate 18 and thus from the support region 19 of the comb plate 18.

So that the at least partial protrusion of an incorrectly installed cover element 2 to 6 is even more noticeable, at least one side surface 44 of the cover element 2 can be provided with a signal color 45, such as neon yellow, neon orange and the like, as illustrated by the first cover element 2.

Instead of or in combination with the signal color 45, the side surface 44 can also have at least one reflective element 46. Of course, at least one illuminant 47 can also be provided on the side surface 44 for the same purpose, as is shown schematically by the illuminant 47 arranged in a groove 48. The illuminant 47 can be used alone or in combination with a signal color 45 and / or a reflecting element 46.

Figure 8 shows a sectional side view of a bottom cover 1 in a fourth embodiment, which differs only slightly from that in Figure 7 shown, third embodiment differs. This also has a device 50 with a stop piece 51 and an elastic element 52, the first cover element 2 also being shown in the correct installation position X 0 . The difference is that the stop piece 51 additionally has a nose 53 which extends parallel to the base cover support 12 in the direction of the comb plate 18. On the side surface 54 of the first cover element 2 facing away from the comb plate 18 in the assembled state, a cover groove 55 is formed, in which, as shown, the nose 53 is arranged so as to engage with the correct installation position X 0 .

The Figure 8 also shows how the further covering element 3 adjoining the first covering element 2 is positively connected to one another by means of the connecting element designed as a tongue 56 and groove 57. The recess 58 on the further cover element 3 can also be seen, which enables the same to rest flush on the base cover support 12.

The Figure 9 and Figure 10 show a three-dimensional representation of a section of a fifth exemplary embodiment of a floor cover 1. The first cover element 2 is shown in FIG Figure 9 shown in the correct installation position X 0 , the first cover element 2 in Figure 10 in the incorrect installation position X 1 . The base cover 1 comprises a device 60 which has a recess 61 on the cover element 2 and a projection 62 on the base cover support 12 which corresponds to this recess 61.

As shown, the device 60 can have at least one projection 62 on the base cover support 12 and a recess 61 on the cover element 2 corresponding to this projection 62. Of course, the at least one recess 61 can also be on the bottom cover support 12 and one this recess 61 corresponding projection can be formed on the cover member 2. With the correct installation position X 0 , the projection 62 protrudes as in Figure 9 shown, in the recess 61. If the installation position X 1 is incorrect, the at least one cover element 2 is either as in FIG Figure 10 shown, protruding and projecting beyond the base cover 12 on the protrusion 62, or by a front face 65 of the protrusion 62, for example on the rear edge 64 of the cover element 2, the cover element 2 protrudes visibly overlapping or arranged over the comb plate, not shown.

In order to force the only correct installation position X 0 of the cover element 2, the projection 62 and the recess 61 extend in a parallel plane to the planar extent of the cover element 2 or to the base cover support 12, so that any engagement by the projection 62 in the recess 61 Tilting moments of the cover element 2 arranged on the base cover support 12 are absorbed or supported solely by the device 60. In order to bring the cover element 2 into the correct installation position X 0 , it is not sufficient to simply place it on the base cover support 12. When it is placed on the floor covering support 12, the cover element 2 must still be displaced in the direction of the extension of the projection 62 until it has reached the correct installation position X 0 . If it is only put on but not moved, it does not fit into the base cover support 12 and projects with one side above it. If necessary, the cover element 2 must be made in several parts or have at least one articulation point so that the projection 62 can be inserted into the recess 61.

The projection 62 is preferably a bar and the recess 61 is a groove. The bar can be created, for example, by how Figures 9 and 10 shown, an angle profile is arranged on a lateral portion of the bottom cover support 12. A groove corresponding to the bar is then formed on the cover element 2.

Although the invention has been described by the representation of specific exemplary embodiments, it is obvious that numerous further embodiment variants are created in the knowledge of the present invention can, for example by using a sensor 25 or switch 25 for monitoring the correct mounting of the first cover element 2 in each of the design variants. Furthermore, the first cover element 2 can also have a plurality of devices 20, 30, 40, 50, 60. All of the exemplary embodiments can also be used for floor covers 1 which have a plurality of cover elements 2 to 6. In the case of such floor covers 1, at least one device 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 can be provided for each of the cover elements 2 to 6. In addition, it basically does not matter which part of the fastening element 16 or the locking device 32 is arranged on the cover element 2 to 6 or on the base cover support 12. For example, the locking device 32 can be arranged on the cover element 2 to 6, and the bore into which the latch 33 is to engage can be formed on the base cover support 12. Of course, the locking device 32 can also be arranged on the base cover support 12, and the bore into which the bolt 33 is to engage can be formed on the cover element 2 to 6.

Of course, existing passenger transport systems 100 can also be modernized by replacing their existing floor covers 1 with floor covers 1 according to the invention or by supplementing the existing floor covers 1 with corresponding devices 20, 30, 40, 50, 60.
