Description

The invention relates to assemblies formed by a top plate of a cooking appliance, in particular for household use, and in particular to gas burners with multiple crowns of flames which are suitable for being mounted on such a plate.

Such burners generally include a central burner and an annular burner, surrounding the central burner.

Such burners are used when significant heating power is required and / or, in conjunction with respective gas supply devices for the central and annular burners, when modulation of the heating power is required (Asian cuisine by example).

We already know in particular burners with multiple flame crowns provided with a central burner with a peripheral flame crown and an annular burner, surrounding the central burner, provided with one or two flame crowns: an inner flame crown and an outer flame crown. The annular burner may also have only one outer flame ring.

The document EP 1,120,603 describes, for example, such burners.

The document EP 2,053,309 A1 describes a burner having the characteristics specified in the preamble of claim 1.

At the origin of the invention, we sought to make the assembly described in the document more compact. EP 1,120,603 and to further improve the performance of such burners.

The object of the invention is therefore to propose a gas burner with multiple flame crowns of an improved type, the structure of which is suitable for allowing it to be placed both on a conventional cooker and on a thin baking sheet. (less than 3 cm).

For these purposes, the invention relates to a gas burner with multiple flame crowns, suitable for being mounted on a top plate of a cooking appliance in particular for household use, the top plate extending substantially along a plate plane, said gas burner comprising:
  • a central burner having a ring of peripheral flames and at least one annular burner having at least one ring of peripheral flames, said annular burner surrounding the central burner,
  • and a burner body suitable for being fixed on said top plate,
said burner body comprising at least a first gas inlet communicating with a first gas injector situated opposite a first converging-diverging duct forming Venturi, said first duct having an axis capable of extending substantially parallel to said plate plane , said first duct extending over at least the greatest part of a transverse extent of the burner body,
said first duct being, at its end opposite to said first gas injector, in communication with a well substantially perpendicular to said axis of said first duct, said well being open upwards and capable of supplying said annular burner with an air / gas mixture,
said burner body comprising a second venturi duct situated above said first duct,
said second duct having one end in communication with an opening towards the top of the burner body, capable of supplying said central burner with an air / gas mixture.
The burner according to the invention is remarkable in that the axis of the second conduit is parallel to the axis of the first conduit.

Thanks to the structure adopted, a burner with multiple flame crowns is constituted in which the mixture of gas and air jets passing through the first Venturi and supplying the external burner head is also used to supply the internal burner head, because the Venturi supplying the interior burner head communicates with the Venturi of the exterior burner head. This optimizes the space occupied by the burner body.

In addition, by horizontally orienting the supply Venturi for the interior burner head, and by positioning the two Venturi on top of each other, the height occupation of the assembly is limited, which makes it possible to create sets space-saving in height, can be mounted on a hob of reduced thickness.

Also, by horizontally orienting the supply Venturi of the interior burner head, the length of the Venturi (and therefore the performance of the interior burner head) can be increased without affecting the vertical size of the assembly.

The assembly according to the invention may also include the following characteristics, taken separately or in combination:
  • The second conduit may have a second end open in said well, so that the air / gas mixture of said first conduit also circulates in said second conduit. This allows a single gas supply to be used to supply the two central and annular burners.
  • The burner body may include a second gas inlet communicating with a second gas injector located opposite the second venturi duct, the second gas injector being positioned at a second end of said second venturi duct, said second end being opposite to said end in communication with the opening upwards of the burner body, said second gas injector being oriented parallel to said first gas injector.
  • The central burner and the annular burner may each include a central burner head and an annular burner head and, respectively, a central burner cap and an annular burner cap.
  • The central burner head and the annular burner head can be made in one piece. This facilitates the mounting of the burner.
  • The central burner head assembled with the burner body can form a passage parallel to the axis of the first and second venturi ducts, the passage possibly having a hallway entry made by the opening upwards of the burner body and a hallway exit opening out substantially in the center of the central burner head.
  • Upstream of the second venturi duct, the burner body can form, with the central burner head, an air intake chamber around said second gas injector.
  • Said second gas inlet can open into said air intake chamber in the vicinity of said second gas injector.
  • The annular burner head may comprise an annular chamber bordered at least mono-laterally by flame passages and having at its bottom an opening in communication with said well. In addition, the central burner head may include a central burner chamber having an opening adapted to communicate with the upward opening of the burner body.
  • In the vicinity of said at least one first gas inlet, the burner body may include an air intake opening in the vicinity of the inlet of said first venturi duct.
  • The annular burner may be surrounded below by a peripheral skirt inclined downwards, the peripheral skirt preferably being made removable.
  • The burner can comprise at least one flame detection thermocouple and / or at least one electric ignition member and said at least one thermocouple and / or said at least one electric ignition member can be functionally associated with the central burner .

The invention also relates to an assembly comprising at least one gas burner as defined above and a cooking plate.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the axis of the first duct is positioned below the plate plane of the cooking plate and the axis of the second duct is positioned above the hob plate plane. Thus produced, the assembly has an occupancy height much lower than that of known assemblies.

According to an alternative embodiment, also, the second duct is enclosed between the cooking plate, on the one hand, and the central burner and the annular burner, on the other hand. Thanks to this arrangement, the second conduit is preserved from any introduction of dirt, which facilitates cleaning of the assembly.

According to yet another advantageous embodiment, the assembly includes at least one primary air inlet located below the plate.

In the following description, the terms "lower", "upper", "high", "low" etc ... are used with reference to the drawings for greater ease of understanding. They should not be understood as being limitations on the scope of the invention.

Il sera tout d'abord fait référence à un premier mode de réalisation illustré sur les figures 1 à 5.Firstly, reference will be made to a first embodiment illustrated on the Figures 1 to 5 .

The second embodiment illustrated in figures 6 to 8 will be described later.

Dans l'exemple illustré dans l'ensemble des figures, la tête de brûleur extérieur annulaire 3 possède une couronne de flammes extérieure (passages de flammes 4).Referring first to the figure 1 , the assembly includes a gas burner comprising an internal burner head 1 (or central burner), which is in the central position, having a peripheral flame crown (flame passages 2) and at least one external burner head 3 ( or annular burner), which is annular and remotely surrounds the central burner head 1, having at least one ring of flames, interior and / or exterior. In the example illustrated in all the figures, the annular external burner head 3 has an external flame ring (flame passages 4).

It should be noted that the two embodiments illustrated and presented in figures 1 to 8 have the same burner heads 1 and 3.

In addition, in the two embodiments which are presented, the interior 1 and exterior 3 burner heads are produced in one piece. This has the advantage of reducing the number of parts in the assembly according to the invention.

The interior 1 and exterior 3 burner heads thus form a single piece which, by means of a burner body 6, is capable of being mounted on a cooking plate P.

La plaque P s'étend suivant sensiblement un plan de plaque P1.The cooking plate P is, for example a stove plate or a cooking plate. It is visible on the drawings of Figures 1 to 3 . The plate P extends substantially along a plane of the plate P1.

The burner body 6 is visible in particular on the figures 1 , 2 and 4 . This burner body 6 has here a relatively elongated shape, substantially in correspondence with the diameter of the external burner head 3 which surmounts said body.

The burner body 6 is arranged to be fixed, by fixing means, at least partially under the plate P from above a cooking appliance.

The figure 4 shows in particular that the burner body 6 is bordered, at least partially at substantially mid-height, with a fixing flange 70, punctually having holes 71.

The plate P has a cutout 72 corresponding substantially to the shape of the section of the burner body 6, to accommodate the burner body 6 ( figure 3 ).

Some holes 73 come in vertical correspondence with the holes 71 of the flange 70 of the burner body when the latter is positioned in the cutout 71 of the plate p.

At one end of the burner body 6 is a gas inlet 8, which can be connected to a gas supply via control means (not shown) which are preferably specific to it.

As seen in the figure 2 , the gas inlet 8 is in communication with a gas injector 9 located coaxially opposite one end of a conduit 10 first convergent, then divergent and forming tubular Venturi, which extends substantially over the greater part of the length of the burner body 6, that is to say of the diameter of the outer burner head 3, along an axis parallel to the plane P1.

Between the gas injector 9 and the duct 10 is a port 11 for primary air intake. The primary air intake lumen is supplied with air through a through opening 80 and / or through the opening 81 made through the burner body 6, in the vicinity of the gas injector 9.

More specifically, in the context of the example illustrated, the burner body 6 is produced in two parts which can be assembled together. A first part 60 which comprises the conduit 10 and a part 61 which comprises a housing for the injector and which can be assembled at one end of the part 60, opposite the inlet of the conduit 10. The arrow F on the figure 4 shows the place where part 61 should be positioned in relation to part 60 to assemble them together.

The figure 2 shows that the end 62 of the part 60 is inserted into the end 62 of the part 61.

It should be noted that parts 60 and 61 could be made in one piece.

At its terminal end, the duct 10 is in connection with a substantially vertical well 12 bringing the air-gas mixture into the external burner head 3.

As can also be seen on the figure 2 , the burner body 6 comprises a second duct 5 forming a tubular Venturi, which extends parallel to the duct 10, also substantially over a part of the length of the burner body 6. The second duct 5 is disposed above the duct 10 and in opposite direction: the inlet 50 of the conduit 5 is from the well 12 and the outlet of the second conduit 5 is through an opening 51 made on the top of the conduit 5, near its end 52 opposite the end 53 comprising the inlet 50 of the second conduit 5.

Thus produced, the second conduit 5 communicates with the well 12 and the air / gas mixture circulating in the conduit 12 is also sucked into the second conduit 5 in which it also circulates.

The outlet opening 51 of the second conduit 5 opens into a corridor 54 which opens substantially at the center 59 of the central burner head 1, which makes it possible to conduct the air / gas mixture as far as the central burner head 1.

It should be noted that, in an alternative embodiment, there could be several exits 51 which would lead into the corridor 54.

Il va maintenant être fait plus particulièrement référence aux têtes de brûleur intérieur 1 et extérieur 3 en faisant référence aux figures 1, 2, 3 et 5.Reference will now be made more particularly to the interior 1 and exterior 3 burner heads with reference to the figures 1 , 2 , 3 and 5 .

Dans la paroi 25 sont pratiquées des encoches formant des passages de flammes 4.The external burner head 3 comprises an annular chamber 22 located in the vicinity of the external periphery of this head. Chamber 22 is formed by a channel defined by a bottom 23 and two concentric side walls 24, 25 and by an annular cover or cap 26 covering said channel ( figure 1 ). In the wall 25 are made notches forming flame passages 4.

In the example illustrated, the notches forming the flame passages are of different depths to allow better combustion and a non-fragile crown of flames.

As seen especially at the figure 5 , the bottom 23 of the chamber has an opening 27, which is positioned opposite the substantially vertical well 11 (above) of the burner body 6 when the assembly is assembled ( figure 2 ).

As in figure 5 , the external burner head 3 is arranged so that between a central region which will be discussed later and the chamber annular 22, it includes lights 29 which open up this intermediate annular zone.

More specifically, the central interior burner head 1 has a central region, which has a central opening 34.

The central opening coincides with the exit from the corridor 54 mentioned above, which makes it possible to guide the air / gas mixture leaving the second duct 5 towards a central region of the central interior burner head 1.

Inside the space delimited by the projecting part in the shape of a rectangle, is the outlet end 51 of the second conduit 5 forming Venturi.

Le fond plein 56 de l'espace intérieur délimité par la partie saillante en forme de rectangle 55 est réalisé par la paroi du corps de brûleur et il se situe sensiblement au même niveau que celui de l'extrémité de sortie 51 du second conduit 5.The solid bottom 56 of the interior space delimited by the projecting part in the shape of a rectangle 55 is produced by the wall of the burner body and it is situated substantially at the same level as that of the outlet end 51 of the second duct 5.

Le fond plein 56 forme le fond du couloir 54.The solid bottom 56 forms the bottom of the corridor 54.

The side walls of the corridor 54 are formed in part by the projecting part in the shape of a rectangle 55, and by the side walls of a hollow part in the shape of a parallelepiped 57 which connects the side wall 24 of the external burner 3 and the internal burner 1 .

Ainsi, lorsque la tête de brûleur central (ou intérieur) 1 est assemblée au corps de brûleur 6, le couloir 54 est formé entre la partie saillante en forme de rectangle 55 et partie creuse en forme de parallélépipède 57.Thus, when the central (or interior) burner head 1 is assembled with the burner body 6, the passage 54 is formed between the projecting part in the form of a rectangle 55 and the hollow part in the form of a parallelepiped 57.

Corridor 54 has an axis parallel to the axis of the first and second conduits 10 and 5 (respectively) and comprises:
  • a corridor entry, produced by an opening towards the top of the burner body 6 corresponding to the exit of the second duct 5, and
  • a corridor outlet, which opens substantially at the center of the central burner 1, so that the air / gas mixture from the well 12 is delivered to the center of the internal central burner 1.

Un chapeau ou couvercle 36 repose sur la paroi 35 (voir figure 1).The central burner head 1 has a peripheral wall 35 which is pierced with notches 2, of different depths, forming flame passages (see figures 3 and 5 especially). A cap or cover 36 rests on the wall 35 (see figure 1 ).

Finally, it will be noted that the external burner head 3 is, as is often the case for gas burners, bordered below by a peripheral annular skirt 38 inclined downwards. This skirt can be an integral part of the burner head 3, or it can be an annular piece attached removably to the burner head 3: this annular piece 38 can be put in place by means of suitable shoulders, for example.

In addition, it then becomes easy to shape and / or decorate this annular part in various ways in order to satisfy, for example, commercial requirements.

The structural arrangements which have just been described lead to a gas burner with multiple crowns the burner heads 1 and 3 of which operate with only one gas inlet. By communicating between them two conduits forming Venturi, it is possible to supply two different burner heads. By arranging the two parallel Venturi ducts one to the other and one above the other, parallel to the plane P1 of the plate P, the burner body occupies a space limited in height and in width.

It will also be noted that the burner body 6, when it is fixed to the plate P, occupies a space above the plate P and a space below the plate P, which further reduces the bulk of the body burner under the plate P and allows the burner body to be installed in very small spaces such as, for example, under a hob of reduced thickness (less than 3 cm).

On the figure 2 , the arrows F1 show schematically the path followed by the primary air which, from the opening 80 (air coming from below the hob P) or from the upper end of the primary air intake lumen 11 (air arriving from above the cooking plate P), arrives at the inlet of the conduit 10 and simultaneously, passing through the well 12 and arrives at the conduit 5.

As for the secondary air which must reach the feet of the flames, its paths are shown diagrammatically by the arrows in dash F2. It partly comes from the outside of the burner for the external flame ring, and from outside air arriving through the openings 29 (arrows F3) for the internal flame ring of the central burner 1.

Finally, it will be noted that, to simplify the structure of the burner and reduce its cost, a single thermocouple Th and / or a single electric ignition member Al are provided, which are then associated in operation with the single central burner.

As we can see better at the figure 4 , the burner body 6 has housings 74 and 75 in its fixing flange 70 to receive, respectively, at least one thermocouple Th and at least one electric ignition member Al.

The same references have been kept to designate the elements common to the two embodiments.

The second embodiment includes the same burner heads 1 and 3 made in one piece and the same plate P as the assembly shown in Figures 1 to 5 .

It also includes substantially the same burner body 6, since it notably comprises the gas inlet 8, the injector 9, the two conduits 10 and 5 forming Venturi. However, the burner body 6 of this second example has special features that the burner body 6 of the first embodiment does not have and which will be developed now:
As more easily visible to figures 6 and 7 , the burner body 6 in the second embodiment comprises a second gas inlet 13 distinct from the aforementioned first inlet 8, and arranged, here, on the side of the body 6, perpendicular to the axes of the two conduits 10 and 5.

The gas inlet 13 can be connected to a gas supply via control means (not shown) which preferably are specific to it and are distinct from the control means for feeding the first gas inlet 8.

It should be noted that the burner body 6 of the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 5 also includes this second gas supply. However, the second arrival in the first embodiment is carried out by a blind hole.

It should also be noted that the well 12 of the burner body is not in communication with the second duct 5 in this second embodiment.

Thus, it is understood that the burner body 6 of the second embodiment and of the first embodiment can be produced by machining the same basic burner body: particular machining operations are thus carried out depending on whether one wishes to carry out a burner body with one or two gas inlets.

In the second embodiment, the gas inlet 13 is in communication with a gas injector 14 which is directed parallel to the second Venturi 5, and therefore parallel to the first gas injector 9: at the figure 7 , the axis of the injector 14 is substantially horizontal and substantially parallel to the axes of the conduits 10 and 5.

L'injecteur de gaz 14 est positionné à une extrémité du second conduit 5 (extrémité formant l'entrée 50 du conduit 5), opposée à la sortie 51 du conduit 5 (la sortie 5 correspond à l'ouverture vers le haut du corps de brûleur 6).The gas injector 14 is positioned at one end of the second conduit 5 (end forming the inlet 50 of the conduit 5), opposite to the outlet 51 of the conduit 5 (the outlet 5 corresponds to the upward opening of the body of burner 6).

The communication between the gas inlet 13 and the second gas injector 14 takes place by means of a conduit 15 pierced through the burner body 6, visible more particularly in figure 8 .

The duct 15 is straight and has a first end 16 open in the gas inlet duct 13 and a second end 17 which opens at the rear of the second gas injector 14 (see figures 7 and 8 ).

The second gas injector 14 is positioned in a cutout 18 made in the burner body 6 upstream of the second conduit 5 forming Venturi.

The cutout 18 of the burner body 6 is placed under a second parallelepipedic part 58 connecting the two burner heads 1 and 3, the second parallelepipedic part 58 being in the extension of the first parallelepipedic part 57, according to the diameter of the head of external annular burner (see figure 7 ).

The second parallelepiped part is produced by walls connecting the concentric side wall of the annular outer burner head 3 and the peripheral wall of the central inner burner head 1. Just like the first parallelepiped part 57, the second parallelepiped part 58 is open downwards so as to form a cover above the cutout 18 made in the burner body 6.

The cutout 18 thus receives the gas injector 14 and allows a primary air intake F1 on either side of the injector 14 under the second rectangular part 58. Thus, upstream of the second conduit 5, the body of burner 6 forms a primary air intake chamber around the second injector 14 thanks to the cutout 18. Furthermore, thanks to the burner body thus produced, the duct 15 which extends the second gas inlet 13 opens into the chamber d air intake in the vicinity of the second injector 14.

Grâce à ce second mode de réalisation, on peut commander indépendamment le fonctionnement du brûleur central 1 ou du brûleur annulaire 3.Thanks to this second embodiment, the operation of the central burner 1 or of the annular burner 3 can be independently controlled.
