Diese zusätzlichen Schmerzen führen dazu, dass die Muskulatur des Anwenders als Schutzfunktion eine Anspannung durchführt, wodurch der behandelnde Effekt der Massage der Muskulatur unmöglich wird. Es hat sich somit gezeigt, dass die aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Massagerollen nur für den Einsatz an weitestgehend gesunden Personen geeignet sind.Massage rollers are already known from the prior art. Besonders bevorzugt ist der Schaumstoff des Außenbereichs ein offenzelliger PUR-Schaum. Mit einem offenzelligen PUR-Schaum, oder Polyurethanschaum, ist es insbesondere möglich, die große Bandbreite von erforderlichen Stauchhärten von 3 bis 15 kPa zu erzeugen, wobei insbesondere der Stauchvorgang bzw. der elastische Verformungsvorgang eines offenzelligen PUR-Schaums eine gleichmäßige Erhöhung der Anpresskraft bzw. des Anpressdrucks erreicht. Auf diese Weise kann ein Anwender durch Vergrößern oder Verkleinern des Verformungswegs des Außenbereichs direkt und gezielt die Anpresskraft an sein Muskelgewebe entsprechend einstellen.Particularly preferably, the foam of the outer region is an open-celled PUR foam. Die Beschichtung verhindert dabei zum einen, dass Schweiß und Schmutz im offenzelligen Schaumstoff haften bleiben und sich dort sammeln. Auf diese Weise erreicht die Beschichtung eine Erhöhung der Hygiene beim Einsatz mit der Massagerolle. Zum anderen erlaubt die Beschichtung durch ihre glatte Oberfläche, dass ohne weiteres ein Stoff- oder Textilüberzug über die Massagerolle gezogen werden kann. Die Beschichtung ist dabei vorzugsweise aus PU gebildet, welches besonders einfach und kostengünstig herzustellen ist. Alternativ bevorzugt und insbesondere dann, wenn eine höhere Elastizität der Beschichtung und eine größere Dehnstreckgrenze erforderlich sind, kann die Beschichtung aus dem etwas aufwendiger herzustellenden Material PVC gebildet sein. Besonders bevorzugt ist die Beschichtung dabei auf den Außenbereich aufgesprüht oder dieser durch Tränken mit der entsprechenden Beschichtung versehen. Bei einer bevorzugten Beschichtungsdicke von 1 mm bis 4 mm ist es möglich, die Beschichtung als separates Bauteil bereitzustellen und über eine Verklebung mit der Oberfläche des Außenbereichs an diesem festzulegen. Diese Herstellungsweise ist die kostengünstigste, da keine aufwendige Sprüh- oder Tränkvorrichtung vorhanden sein muss, sondern die Beschichtung auf einfache Weise um den Außenbereich herumgewickelt und gleichzeitig mit diesem verklebt wird. Für den Fall, dass die Beschichtung die elastische Verformbarkeit des Außenbereichs nur sehr wenig beeinflussen und beeinträchtigen soll, ist deren Dicke vorzugsweise im Bereich von 20 µm bis 1 mm gehalten, wodurch der Außenbereich am wenigsten durch die veränderte elastische Verformbarkeit beeinträchtigt wird und gleichzeitig aber die Beschichtung eine ausreichende Dicke aufweist, um den Verformungsbeanspruchungen standzuhalten.Further preferably, the outer area is provided with a coating which has a thickness of 20 microns to 4 mm, preferably 80 microns to 2 mm, wherein the coating has a smoother surface than the foam of the outer area.
