Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for operating a draw frame, in particular for starting and/or stopping the draw frame, for example for a can change and/or for threading the fiber sliver into a sliver channel.
  • a sliver is passed between the drafting system rollers of a drafting system, which distort the sliver.
  • a thin point is produced in the sliver in order to be able to separate the sliver at the thin point.
  • the present invention includes a draw frame for drafting the sliver with a controller, by means of which at least drafting system rollers of the drafting system can be controlled.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to increase process reliability when operating the draw frame.
  • a method for operating a route, in particular for starting and/or stopping the route is proposed.
  • the starting and stopping can be carried out, for example, for a can change and/or for a later threading of a fiber sliver into a sliver channel.
  • the sliver is passed between drafting rollers of a drafting system, which stretch the sliver. Before the sliver reaches the drafting rollers, it has a certain thickness. The sliver is stretched lengthwise by the drafting system rollers so that it becomes thinner. Thinning makes the sliver more uniform and more workable for subsequent processing. In order to be able to separate the sliver, a thin area is created in the sliver by the drafting system rollers. The thin point serves as a predetermined breaking point or as a desired weak point, so that the sliver can be defined and easily separated there.
  • the thin point in the sliver is produced during a holding phase of the draw frame.
  • the draw frame is stopped so that, for example, a sliver jam is prevented.
  • the fiber sliver can then be treated further while the draw frame is stationary.
  • the sliver is separated in a controlled manner at the thin point.
  • a can change and/or maintenance of the draw frame can be carried out.
  • the thin point in the sliver is produced during a start phase of the drawing frame.
  • the fiber sliver is separated by means of the thin area created in the starting phase, so that the fiber sliver has a defined start from this point. In particular, this allows thick points to be removed from the sliver at the start of the draw frame.
  • a length and/or a thickness of the thin point is generated as a function of parameters of the fiber sliver and/or the draw frame.
  • Parameters of the fiber sliver are, for example, the fiber material, a strength of the fiber sliver and/or the nature. If the sliver has a large cross section, for example, it is advantageous if the thin area has a longer extension along the sliver, so that a transition from the thin area to the normal sliver is flatter. If, on the other hand, the dimensions of the drafting system are smaller, for example, it is advantageous if the thin point has a smaller extent along the sliver. If, on the other hand, the strength of the sliver is high, for example, the thin point can be made particularly thin.
  • the drafting system is closed before or in the starting phase of the draw frame and/or opened after or in the holding phase of the draw frame of the drafting system.
  • a cover of the drafting system can be closed and/or opened. This is a relief for the staff who have to carry out maintenance work on the drafting system, for example.
  • the starting phase has a duration of between 0.5 s and 5 s, with the fiber sliver being accelerated to a delivery speed during this duration.
  • the duration can also be between 1 s and 4 s, with the thin point being generated during this duration.
  • the thin point can be created in an initial section, in a middle section and/or in an end section of the duration, with the individual sections dividing the starting phase into equal time periods, for example.
  • the sliver can be accelerated to a maximum delivery speed of 1200 m/min, for example.
  • the drafting system rollers are set in rotation.
  • the maximum delivery speed corresponds to a speed on a delivery drive of approx. 4500 rpm (revolutions per minute) and approx. 9500 rpm at the output cylinders of the drafting system rollers.
  • the holding phase has a duration of between 0.2 s and 4 s, with the fiber sliver being decelerated by the delivery speed during this duration.
  • the delivery drive and the output cylinders are braked from a maximum speed (similar to the values for the start phase).
  • the thin point can be generated in an initial section, in a middle section and/or in an end section of the duration, with the individual sections dividing the holding phase into equal time periods, for example.
  • the delivery speed of the sliver is continuously reduced during the holding phase.
  • the delivery speed can be reduced linearly and/or parabolic, for example.
  • the delivery speed of the sliver can be generated by the rotation of the drafting system rollers.
  • the delivery speed of the sliver can be reduced by reducing the speed of the drafting rollers.
  • a continuous reduction in the delivery speed can therefore be achieved by continuously reducing the speed of the drafting system rollers.
  • the continuous reduction of the speed of the drafting system rollers can be carried out with particularly little effort and in a way that is gentle on the material.
  • the location of the thin point naturally depends on the delivery speed of the sliver.
  • the location of the thin spot is easier to trace with a continuous decrease in the delivery speed than with a more complicated course of the delivery speed.
  • the continuous decrease in the speed of the rollers and the resulting decrease in the delivery speed can be particularly easy to reach.
  • the drafting system rollers can be switched to be non-driven by switching off an electric current from a drive. Due to frictional resistance, among other things in the bearings of the drafting system rollers, the speed is constantly reduced, so that the delivery speed of the sliver is also continuously reduced.
  • the drafting system rollers can also be braked with the aid of a braking device.
  • a constant braking effect leads to a linear reduction in the speed of the drafting system rollers and thus to a linear reduction in the delivery speed of the sliver.
  • a continuous braking of the drafting system rollers and thus a continuous reduction in the delivery speed also has another advantage.
  • the fiber sliver is slowed down gently, so that flaws in the fiber sliver are prevented as well as possible.
  • the continuous braking of the drafting system rollers also has advantages for the mechanics of the drafting system compared to non-continuous braking. Abrupt braking can lead to increased wear, for example of bearings, couplings between a drive and the drafting system rollers, or to overloading of the electronics, which is largely prevented with continuous braking.
  • the delivery speed of the fiber sliver is continuously increased during the starting phase.
  • Increasing the delivery speed of the sliver continuously has essentially the same advantages as reducing the delivery speed.
  • the sliver is protected, the mechanics of the drafting system rollers and/or the drive are less stressed and it can be carried out more easily.
  • the thin point is formed by means of an increase in a draft applied compared to the normal drafting of the sliver.
  • normal warping is a factor of six. This means that a fiber sliver leaving the drafting system is stretched six times compared to a fiber sliver entering the drafting system.
  • the distortion can be increased by 25% to 100%, for example.
  • the delay can preferably also be increased by 50%.
  • the 50% increase in warpage means that while the thin spot is being created, the warpage is short term by a factor of nine. After the thin point has been created, the distortion is reset to the value of six, for example.
  • the increase in the delay is formed by reducing the speed of a pair of rollers of the drafting system rollers compared to a speed of a pair of rollers of the drafting system rollers arranged downstream of this pair of rollers in the delivery direction of the sliver.
  • the delay is thus achieved in that a speed of a pair of rollers, which is in contact with the fiber sliver first in the delivery direction, is reduced compared to a subsequent pair of rollers.
  • the speed of a pair of rollers located further to the rear in the delivery direction of the sliver can also be increased compared to a pair of rollers located further forward in order to increase the draft.
  • the speed of at least one pair of rollers of the drafting system rollers can be reduced compared to a pair of delivery rollers arranged downstream, in order to produce the thin point.
  • the pair of delivery rollers can be arranged, for example, between the turntable and the sliver funnel.
  • the stopping phase is carried out when a malfunction of the path is detected, with the thin point first being produced during the stopping phase and then the path being stopped.
  • a malfunction can be, for example, a sliver winding around a drafting system roller, a sliver jam or the like, which reduces or even prevents the draw frame from functioning properly. If the malfunction is detected, the holding phase is carried out and the thin point is produced during the holding phase, so that after the malfunction has been eliminated the fiber sliver can be separated at the thin point and can be supplied again.
  • the holding phase can also be carried out as follows.
  • An electronic coupling can be canceled between an infeed drive and a delivery and/or deposit drive. Due to the inertia ratios, the feed drive can decelerate much more quickly than if it has to run synchronously with the delivery drive and/or the storage drive. In these cases, braking the infeed drive as quickly as possible reduces the lap thickness, for example, since less material is fed into the drafting system than with normal stopping. Additionally or alternatively, the delay can also be significantly increased during the holding phase.
  • an end part of the sliver arranged after the thin point in the delivery direction of the sliver is removed manually, mechanically and/or by means of compressed air, so that the sliver is separated at the thin point.
  • the end part of the sliver can still be removed in the holding phase and/or in the starting phase.
  • the tail is removed, there remains a beginning of the remaining sliver beginning with the thin spot.
  • the thinner sliver in the region of the thin point can be threaded more easily between rollers located behind and/or more easily into a sliver funnel located behind. If the end part is removed during the holding phase and/or the starting phase so that only at least part of the thin area at the beginning of the sliver remains, subsequent threading can be carried out more easily.
  • a sliver defect for example a fiber winding of the sliver around a drafting roller, a defect in the sliver or a sliver jam is removed manually, mechanically and/or by means of compressed air and the thin point is then produced, particularly in the starting phase.
  • the beginning of the sliver which is still thinned out by the thin point, can be threaded more easily between the calender rollers and/or into the sliver funnel during the starting phase.

Description

The present invention relates to a method for operating a draw frame, in particular for starting and/or stopping the draw frame, for example for a can change and/or for threading the fiber sliver into a sliver channel. In this case, a sliver is passed between the drafting system rollers of a drafting system, which distort the sliver. In addition, a thin point is produced in the sliver in order to be able to separate the sliver at the thin point. Furthermore, the present invention includes a draw frame for drafting the sliver with a controller, by means of which at least drafting system rollers of the drafting system can be controlled.

From the DE 195 48 232 C5 a method for separating a fiber sliver when changing cans on a drawing frame is known. A thin spot is created in the sliver at which the sliver tears when the can is changed. The disadvantage of this draw frame is that during the can change and the sliver separation, the sliver is continuously supplied and this can lead to complications.

From the DE 10 2004 017 441 A1 a method for initiating a separation process of a fiber composite at the exit of a spinning preparation machine is known. To do this, the machine is stopped, a thin area is created in the fiber composite and the fiber composite is separated.

The object of the present invention is therefore to increase process reliability when operating the draw frame.

The object is achieved by a method for operating a track and the track itself with the features of the independent patent claims.

A method for operating a route, in particular for starting and/or stopping the route, is proposed. The starting and stopping can be carried out, for example, for a can change and/or for a later threading of a fiber sliver into a sliver channel.

In the method, the sliver is passed between drafting rollers of a drafting system, which stretch the sliver.

According to the invention, the thin point in the sliver is produced during a holding phase of the draw frame. After the thin point has been formed, the draw frame is stopped so that, for example, a sliver jam is prevented. Additionally or alternatively, the fiber sliver can then be treated further while the draw frame is stationary. The sliver is separated in a controlled manner at the thin point. In addition, after the draw frame has stopped, a can change and/or maintenance of the draw frame can be carried out.

Additionally or alternatively, the thin point in the sliver is produced during a start phase of the drawing frame. The fiber sliver is separated by means of the thin area created in the starting phase, so that the fiber sliver has a defined start from this point. In particular, this allows thick points to be removed from the sliver at the start of the draw frame.

In an advantageous development of the invention, a length and/or a thickness of the thin point is generated as a function of parameters of the fiber sliver and/or the draw frame. Parameters of the fiber sliver are, for example, the fiber material, a strength of the fiber sliver and/or the nature.

It is also advantageous if the drafting system is closed before or in the starting phase of the draw frame and/or opened after or in the holding phase of the draw frame of the drafting system. For this purpose, for example, a cover of the drafting system can be closed and/or opened. This is a relief for the staff who have to carry out maintenance work on the drafting system, for example.

It is also advantageous if the starting phase has a duration of between 0.5 s and 5 s, with the fiber sliver being accelerated to a delivery speed during this duration. The duration can also be between 1 s and 4 s, with the thin point being generated during this duration. For example, the thin point can be created in an initial section, in a middle section and/or in an end section of the duration, with the individual sections dividing the starting phase into equal time periods, for example. The sliver can be accelerated to a maximum delivery speed of 1200 m/min, for example. In order to accelerate the sliver to the delivery speed during such a period, the drafting system rollers are set in rotation. The maximum delivery speed corresponds to a speed on a delivery drive of approx. 4500 rpm (revolutions per minute) and approx. 9500 rpm at the output cylinders of the drafting system rollers.

It is also advantageous if the holding phase has a duration of between 0.2 s and 4 s, with the fiber sliver being decelerated by the delivery speed during this duration. During the holding phase, the delivery drive and the output cylinders are braked from a maximum speed (similar to the values for the start phase). Here again, the thin point can be generated in an initial section, in a middle section and/or in an end section of the duration, with the individual sections dividing the holding phase into equal time periods, for example.

It represents a particular advantage if the delivery speed of the sliver is continuously reduced during the holding phase. The delivery speed can be reduced linearly and/or parabolic, for example. As already described above, the delivery speed of the sliver can be generated by the rotation of the drafting system rollers. In particular, the delivery speed of the sliver can be reduced by reducing the speed of the drafting rollers. A continuous reduction in the delivery speed can therefore be achieved by continuously reducing the speed of the drafting system rollers.

The continuous reduction of the speed of the drafting system rollers can be carried out with particularly little effort and in a way that is gentle on the material. On the one hand, the location of the thin point naturally depends on the delivery speed of the sliver. The location of the thin spot is easier to trace with a continuous decrease in the delivery speed than with a more complicated course of the delivery speed.

On the other hand, the continuous decrease in the speed of the rollers and the resulting decrease in the delivery speed can be particularly easy to reach. For example, the drafting system rollers can be switched to be non-driven by switching off an electric current from a drive. Due to frictional resistance, among other things in the bearings of the drafting system rollers, the speed is constantly reduced, so that the delivery speed of the sliver is also continuously reduced.

In addition or as an alternative, the drafting system rollers can also be braked with the aid of a braking device. A constant braking effect leads to a linear reduction in the speed of the drafting system rollers and thus to a linear reduction in the delivery speed of the sliver.

A continuous braking of the drafting system rollers and thus a continuous reduction in the delivery speed also has another advantage. In such a method, the fiber sliver is slowed down gently, so that flaws in the fiber sliver are prevented as well as possible.

The continuous braking of the drafting system rollers also has advantages for the mechanics of the drafting system compared to non-continuous braking. Abrupt braking can lead to increased wear, for example of bearings, couplings between a drive and the drafting system rollers, or to overloading of the electronics, which is largely prevented with continuous braking.

In addition or as an alternative, it offers an advantage if the delivery speed of the fiber sliver is continuously increased during the starting phase. Increasing the delivery speed of the sliver continuously has essentially the same advantages as reducing the delivery speed. By means of the continuous increase, the sliver is protected, the mechanics of the drafting system rollers and/or the drive are less stressed and it can be carried out more easily.

It is also advantageous if the thin point is formed by means of an increase in a draft applied compared to the normal drafting of the sliver. For example, normal warping is a factor of six. This means that a fiber sliver leaving the drafting system is stretched six times compared to a fiber sliver entering the drafting system. In order to form the thin point, the distortion can be increased by 25% to 100%, for example. However, the delay can preferably also be increased by 50%. For example, the 50% increase in warpage means that while the thin spot is being created, the warpage is short term by a factor of nine. After the thin point has been created, the distortion is reset to the value of six, for example.

Furthermore, it is advantageous if the increase in the delay is formed by reducing the speed of a pair of rollers of the drafting system rollers compared to a speed of a pair of rollers of the drafting system rollers arranged downstream of this pair of rollers in the delivery direction of the sliver. The delay is thus achieved in that a speed of a pair of rollers, which is in contact with the fiber sliver first in the delivery direction, is reduced compared to a subsequent pair of rollers.

In addition or as an alternative, the speed of a pair of rollers located further to the rear in the delivery direction of the sliver can also be increased compared to a pair of rollers located further forward in order to increase the draft.

For example, the speed of at least one pair of rollers of the drafting system rollers can be reduced compared to a pair of delivery rollers arranged downstream, in order to produce the thin point. The pair of delivery rollers can be arranged, for example, between the turntable and the sliver funnel.

It is also an advantage if the stopping phase is carried out when a malfunction of the path is detected, with the thin point first being produced during the stopping phase and then the path being stopped. A malfunction can be, for example, a sliver winding around a drafting system roller, a sliver jam or the like, which reduces or even prevents the draw frame from functioning properly. If the malfunction is detected, the holding phase is carried out and the thin point is produced during the holding phase, so that after the malfunction has been eliminated the fiber sliver can be separated at the thin point and can be supplied again.

In an additional aspect of the invention, the holding phase can also be carried out as follows. An electronic coupling can be canceled between an infeed drive and a delivery and/or deposit drive.

It is also particularly advantageous if, after the thin point has been created, an end part of the sliver arranged after the thin point in the delivery direction of the sliver is removed manually, mechanically and/or by means of compressed air, so that the sliver is separated at the thin point. The end part of the sliver can still be removed in the holding phase and/or in the starting phase. When the tail is removed, there remains a beginning of the remaining sliver beginning with the thin spot. This is advantageous because the thinner sliver in the region of the thin point can be threaded more easily between rollers located behind and/or more easily into a sliver funnel located behind. If the end part is removed during the holding phase and/or the starting phase so that only at least part of the thin area at the beginning of the sliver remains, subsequent threading can be carried out more easily.

It is advantageous if a sliver defect, for example a fiber winding of the sliver around a drafting roller, a defect in the sliver or a sliver jam is removed manually, mechanically and/or by means of compressed air and the thin point is then produced, particularly in the starting phase. As a result, the beginning of the sliver, which is still thinned out by the thin point, can be threaded more easily between the calender rollers and/or into the sliver funnel during the starting phase.

It is advantageous if the sliver is separated in a region of the thin point, so that an initial part of the sliver is still thinned. As a result, this thinned initial part can be threaded more easily into the sliver funnel and/or between a pair of rollers. For example, the initial part can also be more easily threaded back between the drafting system rollers or into the drafting system if the sliver also slips out of the drafting system. The initial part is arranged at the end of the sliver, which is arranged in the drafting system.

Additionally or alternatively, it is particularly advantageous if this thinned initial part of the sliver is threaded by means of an air flow, in particular in the holding phase and/or starting phase, into a sliver funnel arranged in the delivery direction after the drafting system rollers and/or between the pair of calender rollers. For this purpose, the draw frame has an air nozzle, for example, which is arranged in the area of the sliver funnel so that it generates the air flow that threads the initial part into the sliver funnel. Of course, the route can also have several air nozzles have, so that, for example, the beginning part can be threaded additionally or alternatively between the drafting rollers of the drafting system or between the calender rollers.

It is also advantageous if, after the thin point has been created, the fiber sliver or after the fiber sliver has been separated at the thin point, the end of the initial part of the fiber sliver is delivered further until the thin point or the end of the initial part of the fiber sliver is in a region of a turntable, in particular in an area of an outlet of the turntable. The onward transport can also preferably be carried out during the holding phase and/or the starting phase. When a can is changed, the sliver can thus be separated at the turntable and the sliver can then be introduced directly into a new empty can.

It is also advantageous if the fiber sliver is measured by sensors after and/or during the starting phase of the drawing frame. The sensors can be arranged, for example, on the pair of calender rollers and can be designed, for example, as microwave sensors and/or light barrier sensors.

In addition or as an alternative, it is advantageous if a controller continues to operate the route based on the measurement of the sensors if the start phase is successful. Additionally or alternatively, in the event of an incorrect start phase, the controller can stop the segment again, preferably after the thin point has been generated again.

Also proposed is a draw frame for drafting a sliver with a controller, by means of which at least drafting system rollers of a drafting system can be controlled.

According to the invention, the controller is configured in such a way that the route can be operated according to a method according to one or more of the descriptions above and/or below.

In order to introduce the fiber sliver 2 into the drawing frame 1, this has a pair of transport rollers 8. Downstream in the delivery direction L are two lower deflection points 9a, 9b and two upper deflection points 10a, 10b. After the deflection points 9a, 9b, 10a, 10b, the sliver 2 is introduced into the drafting system 3, in which the sliver 2 is drawn.

For drafting, the drafting system 3 comprises an input roller pair 4, an intermediate roller pair 5 and an output roller pair 6. The input roller pair 4 also has a lower roller 4a and an upper roller 4b, the intermediate roller pair 5 has a lower roller 5a and an upper roller 5b and the output roller pair 6 has a lower roller 6a and two top rollers 6b, 6c. All rollers mentioned here can be combined as drafting rollers 4, 5, 6. The top rollers 4b, 5b, 6b, 6c all have a direction of rotation D (for the sake of simplicity, the direction of rotation D is only shown on the top roller 4b). The lower rollers 4a, 5a, 6a all have a direction of rotation opposite to the direction of rotation D, so that the sliver 2 is passed on through the drafting system rollers 4, 5, 6.

The sliver 2 is passed between the drafting system rollers 4, 5, 6 of the drafting system 3. The drafting system 3 drafts the sliver 2 in that a rotational speed of the drafting system rollers 4, 5, 6 in the delivery direction L is increased.

For example, the input roller pair 4 rotates at a reference speed. The pair of intermediate rollers 5 rotates at a higher rotational speed than the reference speed, so that the sliver is stretched between the pair of input rollers 4 and the pair of intermediate rollers 5 .

Additionally or alternatively, the output roller pair 6 can rotate at a higher rotational speed than the intermediate roller pair 5. As a result, the fiber sliver 2 is also stretched or warped by these two roller pairs 5, 6.

For example, the sliver 2 can be drawn by a factor of six by the drafting system 3 . This means that the fiber sliver 2 has a cross section six times higher before it enters the drafting system 3 than after the drafting system 3 . As a result, the sliver 2 is homogenized.

After the warped sliver 2 leaves the drafting system 3 , it is passed through a sliver funnel 11 and after the sliver funnel 11 is measured by a pair of calender rollers 12 . The sliver 2 is finally deposited in the can 14 by means of a turntable 13 .

A thin point 7 in the sliver 2 is arranged between the pair of output rollers 6 and the sliver funnel 11 , and it can be separated at the thin point 7 . The thin point 7 acts as a predetermined breaking point. However, the thin point 7 is created in such a way that the sliver 2 together with the thin point 7 can be transported further. For example, the thin point 7 shown here and arranged between the pair of output rollers 6 and the sliver funnel 11 can be transported further to a region of the turntable 13 . The fiber sliver 2 can only be separated, for example in order to carry out a can change, when the thin point 7 is arranged on the turntable 13, in particular at its outlet.

The thin point 7 can have a cross section and a length in the direction of the sliver 2 that depend on a material and/or the nature of the sliver 2 itself. For example, the thin point 7 can be made very thin if the sliver 2 is made of a resistant material. As a result, the transportability of the sliver 2 is still given. However, the sliver 2 can also easily be separated at the thin point 7 .

According to the invention, the thin point 7 in the sliver 2 is produced during a holding phase of the draw frame 1 . In addition or as an alternative, the thin point 7 can also be generated during a start phase of the section 1 . If the thin point 7 is produced during the holding phase and/or start phase, the productivity of the section 1 is increased since the additional step for producing the thin point 7 can be dispensed with. The fiber sliver 2 can still be separated at the thin point 7 during the holding phase and/or starting phase. In addition, the process reliability is increased by the production of the thin point 7 and the subsequent stopping of the draw frame 1, since the fiber sliver is no longer separated and further processed at the thin point 7 while the draw frame 1 is running. This avoids a source of error.

In a further aspect of the invention, the thin point 7 can also be produced if a pair of rollers further ahead in the delivery direction L of the fiber sliver 2 is braked, whereas the other pairs of rollers are not braked or are braked to a lesser extent. For example, the pair of transport rollers 8 can be decoupled from the others in terms of a rotational behavior. The pair of transport rollers 8 can also be braked to a greater extent because it has a simpler structure. The pair of transport rollers 8 decelerates more quickly, for example due to a lower weight. If the pair of transport rollers 8 is independently braked faster than, for example, the drafting rollers 4, 5, 6, the sliver 2 is also stretched more, so that the thin point 7 is formed. The thin point 7 is formed in an area between the pair of transport rollers 8 and the drafting system 3 . This has the advantage that less fiber sliver 2 reaches the drafting system 3 as a result. The drafting system rollers 4, 5, 6 do not have to be braked. They can also continue to be driven quite normally until the thin point 7 has been transported further, for example to the position shown or to the turntable 13 .

In order to separate the sliver 2 at the thin point 7 , the draw frame 1 has a sliver separator 22 . This can separate the sliver 2 mechanically and/or, as shown in this exemplary embodiment, by means of an air nozzle. In the present exemplary embodiment, the sliver separator 22 generates an air flow between the sliver funnel 11 and the pair of calender rollers 12, which exerts a force on the sliver 2 arranged there. The force tears the sliver 2 at the thin point 7, with one part of the sliver 2 being pulled through the sliver funnel 11 in the direction of the sliver separator 22 and the other part of the sliver 2 between the calender rollers 12, also in the direction of the sliver separator 22.

The sliver separator 22 can also tear off the sliver 2 mechanically. For example, the sliver separator 22 can include an arm that pulls away the sliver 2 and thereby tears it off.

In addition, the sliver separator 22 can also be arranged in another area in the draw frame 1 . For example, the sliver separator 22 can also be arranged directly in the area of the thin point 7, in the area of the drafting system 3, in the area between the pair of calender rollers 12 and the turntable 13 and/or in the area between the turntable 13 and the can 14. The sliver separator 22 can be arranged, for example, where the thin point should preferably be located during separation. A separation of the sliver 2 without a sliver separator 22 is possible, for example, by initiating a can change when the thin point 7 is in the turntable 13 or in the region between the turntable 13 and the can 14 . The sliver 2 in the can is removed from the turntable 13 more quickly than the sliver 2 is subsequently supplied, as a result of which the sliver 2 tears at the thin point 7 .

In the diagram, the x-axis corresponds to the time axis. The y-axis corresponds to speed values for two speed curves 16, 17 on the one hand and values for a delay 15 on the other.

The holding phase has a beginning 20 and an end 21 . The thin point 7 is generated during the holding phase.

The diagram also shows the warpage 15, which is essentially constant at least in sections, in particular up to a point in time at which a warpage increase 18 begins. The delay 15 in the constant range can have a value of six, for example.

Furthermore, the two speed curves 16 and 17 of, for example, two pairs of rollers of the drafting system 3 are shown in the diagram. In the diagram, the speed curves 16, 17 are shown congruently except for a period of a speed reduction 19. However, this does not necessarily mean that the speed curves 16 and 17 also have the same value. A different scale than for the speed curve 17 can apply to the speed curve 16 .

However, the speed curve 16 applies to a pair of rollers that move in the delivery direction L of the sliver 2 (cf. figure 1 ) is positioned in front of a pair of rollers with the speed profile 17.

For example, the speed curve 16 applies to the input roller pair 4 of the drafting system 3 and the speed curve 17 to the intermediate roller pair 5 or the output roller pair 6. Additionally or alternatively, the speed curve 17 can also be used for an in figure 1 not shown pair of delivery rollers apply, which is arranged in the delivery direction L of the sliver 2 after the drafting system 3.

Additionally or alternatively, the speed profile 16 can also apply to the intermediate roller pair 5 and the speed profile 17 to the output roller pair 6 and/or the delivery roller pair.

Again, additionally or alternatively, the speed curve 16 can also apply to the output roller pair 6 and the speed curve 17 to the delivery roller pair.

In order to further form the draft 15, the pair of output rollers 6 rotates faster than the pair of intermediate rollers 5 and the pair of intermediate rollers 5 faster than the pair of input rollers 4. If the speeds of the pairs of drafting rollers 4, 5, 6 are constant, the draft 15 of the sliver 2 is also constant, for example at one factor six.

In order to form the thin point 7 in the sliver 2, the draft increase 18 is formed at least briefly. To do this, as in the diagram of figure 2 is shown, a speed reduction 19 is carried out. For this purpose, for example, the speed of the input roller pair 4 is briefly decelerated to form the draft increase 18 compared to the speed of a subsequent roller pair, as is illustrated by the speed curve 16 arranged below the speed curve 17 during the speed reduction 19 .

As in figure 2 is also shown, the two speed curves 16 and 17 are continuously falling. In this example of the operating parameters of section 1, the two speed curves 16 and 17 are even designed to fall linearly. This is of particular advantage since the thin point 7 is produced gently for the fiber sliver 2 by means of such speed curves 16 and 17 . In addition, this protects the mechanics of the drafting system 3 because abrupt accelerations of the drafting system rollers 4, 5, 6 and their drives are largely avoided.

The linear speed curves 16, 17 can be achieved, for example, by switching the roller pairs 4, 5, 6 and/or the delivery roller drive to a non-driven state. The rollers are braked to a standstill by frictional resistance. In addition, the rollers can also be slowed down with the help of a braking device.

The duration of the holding phase, ie the time difference between the end 21 and the beginning 20 of the holding phase, can be in a range between 0.2 s and 4 s, for example. However, the holding phase can also have a duration of between 0.5 s and 2 s.

For the starting phase, a diagram similar to that in figure 2 be trained. The starting phase only shows continuously increasing speed curves on. Here, too, it is a particular advantage if the speed curves increase linearly in the starting phase.

For the sake of simplicity, only the essential differences from the previous figures will be discussed here.

The fiber sliver 2 is separated at the thin point 7 , with only an initial part 23 of the fiber sliver 2 still being arranged in the section 1 . The sliver 2 is also separated at the thin point 7 in such a way that a section of the thin point 7 still remains at the beginning part 23 . The initial part 23 thus begins with part of the thin point 7. This is advantageous in that the initial part 23 of the sliver 2 can be threaded more easily into the sliver funnel 11 and/or between the pair of calender rollers 12.

In order to thread the initial part 23 into the sliver funnel 11, this exemplary embodiment has a sliver feeder 24. This is designed as an air nozzle that forms an air flow and pushes the beginning part 23 through the sliver funnel 11 . Additionally or alternatively, the sliver feeder 24 can also be arranged between the sliver funnel 11 and the pair of calender rollers 12 in order to thread the initial part 23 there. In addition or as an alternative, the sliver feeder 24 can also be arranged between the pair of calender rollers 12 and the turntable 13 in order to introduce the starting part 23 into the turntable 13 .

In addition or as an alternative, the sliver feeder 24 can also be designed mechanically.

The present invention is not limited to the illustrated and described embodiments. Modifications within the scope of the patent claims are possible.

The method according to one of the claims 1 or 12, characterized in that the sliver (2), after producing the thin part (7), or the end of the starting part (23) of the sliver (2), after separating the sliver (2) at the thin part (7), is fed further until the thin part (7) or the end of the starting part (23) of the sliver (2) is disposed in a region of a rotary plate (13), particularly in a region of an outlet of the rotary plate (13), particularly in the stopping phase and/or in the starting phase.
  14. The method according to claim 12, characterized in that after and/or during the starting phase of the draw frame the sliver (2) is measured by means of sensors, particularly by means of sensors on the calender roller pair (12), by means of a microwave sensor and/or by means of a light barrier sensor, and/or that a controller continues to operate the draw frame (1) based on the measurement after a successful starting phase, and/or stops the draw frame (1) after a faulty starting phase, preferably after producing the thin part (7).
  15. A draw frame for drafting a sliver (2) and having a controller by means of which at least drafting system rollers (4, 5, 6) of a drafting system (3) can be controlled, characterized in that the controller is configured such that the draw frame (1) can be operated according to the method according to any one or more of the preceding claims.
