Description

Technisches GebietTechnical field

The present invention relates to a watch according to the preamble of claim 1.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

Conventional watches are generally known with a cylindrical body and a carrier in different shapes, the gears being divided into flat two-dimensional surfaces and connected to one another. The disadvantage of these watches is, in particular, that they do not make it possible to perceive them from the back, since they are either completely opaque or covered with a flat glass pane, which makes it possible to look at the watch or the movement from an orthogonal, rear perspective.

Watches are already known from the prior art, which comprise a watch case which is essentially spherical. Such clocks are generally designed to be partially transparent and the display or the time hands and, if appropriate, the clockwork are shown here visible from the front inside the ball. Time hands and these driving gears are also two-dimensional. The disadvantage of this watch is therefore also limited viewing.

The DE 13 38 453 U describes a watch with a dynamic, analog display of the time comprising a plurality of time hands which are arranged so as to be rotatable around a common axis, the watch comprising a watch case which is essentially spherical the time hands have a curvature which is essentially correspondingly matched to the spherical shape of the watch case.

From the US 2002/131329 A1 A watch case is known which is essentially spherical, the watch case being formed from a watch case core and an outer partially or fully transparent protective cover surrounding this watch case core.

According to the invention, the above object is achieved in accordance with the preamble of claim 1 in conjunction with the characterizing features. Advantageous refinements and developments of the watch according to the invention are specified in the dependent subclaims.

According to the invention, a watch of the type mentioned at the outset is characterized in that each time hand is driven by at least one gearwheel, the at least one gearwheel having a curvature which is essentially matched to the spherical shape of the watch case.

Likewise, it is provided according to the invention to preferably provide at least one gear on the side of the watch case opposite the pointers, the at least one gear being arranged in the region of the outer circumference of the watch case and having a curvature which is essentially matched to the spherical shape of the watch case.

The clock of the invention solves the first problem described by allowing the clock to be viewed from all angles, from the natural position of the table clock (where the table clock is placed on the table). The user gets the impression of a third dimension, the dynamic parts (time hands and gears) being visible from all sides in the preferred embodiment of the invention.

Like from the Fig. 1 , 3rd , 5 As can be seen, the clock 1 according to the invention comprises a dynamic, analog display of the time with a plurality of time hands 10a, 10b, 10c, which are about a common axis 11 (see Fig. 3 , 5 ) are arranged so as to be rotatable all round, the watch comprising a watch case 12 with a watch case core 120 which is essentially spherical. The time hands 10a, 10b, 10c are arranged in the area of the outer circumference of the watch case core 120 and have a curvature which is essentially matched to the spherical shape of the watch case 12. How from Fig. 7 As can be seen, the watch 1 according to the invention is formed in the illustrated embodiment from the watch case core 120 and an outer (partially or fully transparent) protective cover 121 (preferably made of glass) surrounding this watch case core 120, the cover 121 preferably consisting of two spherical half-shells 121a, 121b is formed, which can be reversibly connected to one another by means of a sleeve 122, the sleeve 122 preferably having a fold with which it holds the front and rear glass panes together and fixes them to a stand 2.

Fig. 2 shows a schematic representation of the watch 1 from the perspective from behind, the gears 13a, 13b, 13c and further gears can be seen. Each time hand 10a, 10b, 10c is driven by at least one gear 13a, 13b, 13c, the at least one gear 13a being arranged in the region of the outer circumference of the watch case 12 or the watch case core 120 and one corresponding to the spherical shape of the watch case 12 has a substantially correspondingly adapted curvature.

The watch case core 120 of the watch case 12 is preferably hollow and may preferably be of multiple parts in order to make assembly or repair more accessible.

The shafts or axles 15a, 15b, 15c, 17, which serve to transmit the rotation transmitted by the drive mechanism 14 to the gearwheels 13a, 13b, 13c and 16a, 16b, 16c, run through the watch case core 120 of the watch case 12.

The enlargement in Fig. 3 shows drive axles 17 with conical gear wheels 170, which serve to transmit the generated rotation of the drive mechanism 14 to the drive axles 17.

Fig. 4 shows a gear 13n from above and from the side (below). The gearwheel 13n - viewed laterally (below) represents a part-spherical body, where viewed laterally at its center (bottom illustration of the Fig. 4 ) is in the center of orientation 18. The orientation center 18 is according to Fig. 4 within the volume of the spherical body of the watch case 12 or watch case core 120 and preferably corresponds to the center of the spherical body of the watch case core 120. The teeth of the gear 13n are conical and the angle of its cone intersects in the orientation center 18.

Fig.5 zeigt im Schnitt die Achsen 15a,15b,15c, die die Zeitzeiger 10a,10b,10c mit dem hinteren Zahnrädern 13a,13b,13c verbindet. Fig. 5 shows in section the axes 15a, 15b, 15c, which connects the time hands 10a, 10b, 10c with the rear gears 13a, 13b, 13c. The time hands 10a, 10b, 10c are each driven via an axis 15a, 15b, 15c, at least one axis 15c being designed as a hollow shaft for receiving an axis 15b, 15a. Each level (from the inside to the outside) of the time hands 10a, 10b, 10c is connected to the same level of the gear wheels 13a, 13b, 13c on the opposite side with the axes 15a, 15b, 15c. The enlargement views in Fig. 5 show the attachment of the dynamic parts on the wall of the watch case 12 itself.

How from Fig. 3 and Fig. 5 it can be seen that the at least one gear 13a for the hour hand 10a, the gear 13b for the minute hand 10b and possibly the gear 13c for the second hand 10c can be driven by a single common drive mechanism 14.

Out Fig. 3 and Fig. 5 it can also be seen that the watch case core 12 carries the clockwork, wherein the drive energy in this preferred embodiment of the invention is not transmitted directly to the gears 13a; 13b and 13c, the gears 13a, 13b, 13c thereby over the circumference of the watch case. Core 12 arranged gears 16a, 16b, 16c are driven, which preferably have different diameters and are connected to the central drive mechanism 14 via at least one hollow shaft and / or axis (s) 17, 17a, those gears being closer to the center of orientation 18, have a concentrically smaller radius of curvature than the gearwheels which are further away from the center of orientation 18.

According to Fig. 4 it can be seen that preferably each individual gear 13a, 13b, 13c, 13n, 16a, 16b and 16c preferably has a curvature whose half radius - r corresponds to the distance of the respective gear from the center of orientation 18.

How from Fig. 5 As can be seen, the axes 15a, 15b, 15c are arranged on the diameter of the watch case core 120 and the time hands 10a, 10b, 10c are connected to the gearwheels 13a, 13b, 13c arranged on the opposite side of the watch case 12. Fig. 5 illustrates the interaction of opposing times and independent gears 13a, 13b and 13c.

The gear wheels 13a, 13b, 13c are arranged one above the other in the representations on the circumference of the watch case 12 and have different diameters.

According to Fig. 6 there is no direct connection between the time hands 13a; 13; b and 13c and the gears shown, but are only held in position advantageously with a screw. These only serve to transfer the mechanical energy. Fig. 6 thus illustrates the arrangement and interaction of gears, each level being further away from the core center and the radius of the spherical body becoming concentrically larger.

Fig. 7 shows the clock 1 in a perspective view. The watch case core 120 is fastened to the stand 2 with a nut screw 123.

The clock 1 according to the invention is not limited in its design to the preferred embodiments specified above. Rather, a large number of design variations are conceivable, which make use of the solution shown even when the design is fundamentally different.

Claims (5)

  1. Clock (1) with a dynamic, analogue display of the time, comprising a plurality of time hands (10a,10b,10c), which are arranged so that they are rotatable around common axis (11), whereby the clock comprises a clock case (12), which has an essentially spherical shape, and whereby the time hands (10a,10b,10c) have a curvature essentially matching the spherical case of the clock case (12),
    characterized in that
each one of the time hands (10a, 10b, 10c) is driven by at least one gear wheel (13a), whereby the at least one gear wheel (13a) has curvature matching the spherical shape of the clock case (12).
  2. Clock (1) according to claim 1,
    characterized in that
the gear wheels (13a, 13b, 13c) are arranged above each other around the circumference of the clock case (12) and have different diameters, whereby the gear wheels closer to the centre of the sphere (18) have a concentrically smaller curvature radius than the ones further away from the centre of the sphere (18).
  3. Clock (1) according to one of the preceding claims 1 or 2,
whereby the clock case (12) consists of a clock case core (120), which is enveloped by an outer partially transparent or completely transparent spherical protective shell (121), and that this outer spherical protective shell (121) consists of two semi-spheres (121a, 121b),
    characterized in that
the semi-spheres (121a, 121b) are reversibly connectible by a bracket (122) comprising a fold, which is intended for the fixing the front and rear glass cover together and fixing this to the stand (2).
  4. Clock (1) according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
each individual gear wheel (13a,13b,13c,13n,16a,16b,16c) has a curvature with a semi-radius corresponding to the distance of the respective gearwheel clock core centre (18).
  5. Clock (1) according to the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
the gear teeth of each gear wheel, viewed laterally, and part of the clockwork, are conically shaped, whereby the angle of the cone intersects with the centre of the sphere(18).
