Definitions
- the invention relates to an oil supply system for an internal combustion engine having the features of the preamble of claim 1.
- oil is pumped from an internal oil pan of the internal combustion engine by an oil pump to the consumers in pressure lubrication and returns to the internal oil pan of the internal combustion engine under the influence of gravity. It is also known to increase the service life of the oil by increasing the volume of oil involved in the circuit.
- the internal oil pan of the internal combustion engine is connected to an additional oil reservoir, for example in the form of oil tanks.
- JPH02204609 A discloses such an oil supply system according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to specify an oil supply system with which the dwell time of the oil in the additional oil reservoir is extended.
- an extraction opening of the return line is arranged near the ground or in the bottom of the at least one oil tank, a better mixing of the oil in the additional oil tank and a longer residence time in the additional oil tank given before a withdrawal. This ensures that unused (fresh) oil is removed via the return line.
- a ventilation line is provided which connects the oil reservoir to the return line, in which gases dissolved in the oil are introduced into a crankcase of the internal combustion engine together with returned oil via the return line.
- This measure makes it possible to discharge the gases dissolved in the oil coming from the internal combustion engine from the oil tank. This measure is important, as otherwise the pressure in the oil tank may increase and the oil tank may partially empty into the oil pan.
- Venting can now take place in such a way that a vent line near the cover of the oil tank is connected to a return line.
- the gases are introduced into a crankcase of the internal combustion engine together with the returned oil for the return line.
- the return line is preferably connected to a removal line which extends close to the bottom of the at least one oil tank, the removal line having a removal opening close to the bottom of the at least one oil tank.
- At least one flow guide device is provided in the at least one oil tank. This measure further improves the flow in the oil tank.
- the flow guide device can be designed, for example, in the form of guide plates.
- a preferably spring-loaded check valve is installed in the feed line between the internal combustion engine and the oil reservoir.
- a check valve prevents oil from oil lines of the internal combustion engine or oil from the oil pan from being emptied into the oil reservoir when the internal combustion engine is at a standstill.
- the internal combustion engine and the external oil reservoir arranged outside the internal combustion engine are set up on the same structural level.
- the measure is implemented that the removal opening of the connecting line is close to the bottom of the oil tank located upstream.
- the return line to the internal combustion engine is then connected to the at least second oil tank.
- the return line is connected to the at least one oil tank.
- the invention is particularly suitable for stationary internal combustion engines, in particular internal combustion engines coupled to a generator to form a genset.
- the invention is particularly suitable for applications in internal combustion engines with high oil wear, such as in performance-enhanced engines with an unchanged oil volume, in biogas or landfill gas applications or engines with small internal oil pans due to their design.
- the invention has proven to be particularly advantageous in connection with the use of steel pistons.
- FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of an oil supply system according to the invention.
- An internal combustion engine 1 with an internal oil pan 2 can be seen.
- pressure lubrication 10 includes oil pan 2, an oil pump 11, a main oil line 14 and an oil filter 12. Oil O is routed via main oil line 14 to consumers 13 in internal combustion engine 1.
- a supply line 4 branches off from the main oil line 14 upstream of the oil filter 12 and leads a partial flow of oil O into an external oil reservoir 3, formed here by two oil tanks 7 arranged in series.
- the oil reservoir 3 can also be formed by just a single oil tank 7 .
- the oil level of oil O in the two oil tanks 7 is indicated by the shaded area.
- the oil level preferably reaches the cover of the oil tank 7.
- the oil O is fed back to the internal combustion engine 1 via a return line 6 from the second oil tank 7 located downstream of the first oil tank 7 .
- the supply line 4 leads to the first of the two oil tanks 7 arranged in series and ends in a filling opening 5 near the bottom of the oil tank 7.
- a flow guide device 15 here in the form of a guide plate, can be provided in order to further improve the flow through the oil tank 7.
- a connecting line 19 between the oil tanks 7.
- a first extraction line 9 leads via the connecting line 19 into the oil tank 7 located downstream.
- the extraction opening 8 of the extraction line 9, which opens into the connecting line 19 is arranged near the bottom of the oil tank 7 .
- connection line 19 is omitted and the extraction line 9 is connected directly to the return line 6 .
- the extraction opening 8 of the extraction line 9 is arranged near the bottom of the oil tank or tanks 7 .
- the removal opening 8 is designed as an opening in the bottom of the oil tank 7 and opens into the return line 6 there.
- the arrangement of the removal opening 8 near the bottom of the oil tank 7 thus ensures good mixing of the oil O in the oil tank 7 on the one hand and ensures on the other hand that hot oil that has just come from the internal combustion engine 1 is removed and returned to the internal combustion engine 1.
- the gas G dissolved in the oil O separates from the oil O in the oil tank 7 and rises to the surface. So that the pressure in the oil tank 7 does not rise, a ventilation line 16 is provided, which directs the gas G to the return line 6 . In this way, it gets back into a crankcase 20 of the internal combustion engine 1.
- the removal line 9 has a ventilation bore 17, via which gas G can be fed into the return line 6 (or, if there are several oil tanks, first into the connecting line 19). can step.
- the return line 6 opens into the crankcase 20 of the internal combustion engine 1, preferably above the oil level of the oil O in the oil pan 2.
- the internal combustion engine 1 and the external oil reservoir 3 arranged outside the internal combustion engine 1 are set up on the same structural level. It may be that when setting up Internal combustion engine 1 and oil reservoir 3 results in an elevation of the oil pan 2 compared to a reference level in the oil tank 7 . This can lead to oil O leaking out of oil lines in the internal combustion engine 1 or oil O out of the oil pan 2 into the oil tank 7 . Leaking of oil lines when the internal combustion engine 1 is at a standstill, for example lines between the main oil line 14 and consumers 13, is particularly unfavorable because this significantly lengthens a pre-lubrication process before the internal combustion engine 1 is started. In a pre-lubrication process, oil O is brought to consumers 13 before the internal combustion engine 1 is started.
- the pre-lubrication is usually taken over by a pre-lubrication pump 21, which is designed significantly below the oil pump 11 in terms of performance and bridges this during the pre-lubrication process.
- the pre-lubrication pump 21 produces an oil pressure of 0.8 bar, for example.
- a preferably spring-loaded non-return valve 18 prevents oil O from being emptied from the oil lines and the oil pan 2 into the oil reservoir 3 when the internal combustion engine 1 is at a standstill.
- a further particular advantage of a spring-loaded check valve 18 is that it remains closed during the pre-lubrication process and therefore the oil O only has to be pumped through the internal combustion engine 1 and not through the entire oil reservoir 3 during the pre-lubrication process.
- the external oil reservoir 3 is supplied with oil O via the supply line 4 via the main oil line 14. Upstream of the oil filter 12 with a pressure of 3 to 10 bar, with a cross-sectional narrowing of the supply line 4 compared to the main oil line 14 to a cross-section of 2.5 mm an oil flow of 6 l/min at an oil pressure of 4.2 bar at the extraction point in the supply line 4.
- the circulation capacity of the oil pump 11 is 480 l/min.
- the temperature of the oil O emerging from the oil pan 2 is approximately 70°C.
- the pre-lubrication pump 21 produces an oil pressure of 0.8 bar, for example.
- the opening pressure of the check valve 18 is designed to be 1 bar, for example. The pressure of the pre-lubrication pump 21 is then below the opening pressure of the check valve 18.
- the oil reservoir 3 has approximately the same oil volume as the oil pan 2 .
- the oil volume involved in the oil circuit is thus doubled by the oil reservoir 3 .

Description
-
Fig. 1 zeigt ein Ausführungsbeispiel eines erfindungsgemäßen Ölversorgungssystems.
