Claims (5)
- A method for changing a geometry of an edge (24) of a portable, card-shaped data carrier (12) and for its processing, wherein the data carrier has a first outer side (26) and a second outer side (28), wherein the geometry of the edge (24) is changed, characterized in that the geometrically changed edge (24) and an outer side (26, 28) of the data carrier (12) are processed from a common side, without changing a location in space of the data carrier (12).
- The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the edge (24) is processed by imprinting the edge (24) by means of a printing method.
- The method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the edge (24) is processed by marking the edge (24) by means of a laser process.
- The method according to any of the preceding claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the geometry of the edge (24) is changed such that it is diagonal and/or circular with respect to the outer side (26, 28) of the data carrier (12).
- The method according to any of the preceding claims 1 to 4, characterized in that a data carrier (12) is employed which in its interior has at least one white foil (14) and an overlay foil (16,18) as an outermost foil.
