Definitions
- the invention relates to a vehicle silencer for a charge air line of a turbocharged internal combustion engine.
- the EP 2 757 235 A1 discloses a vehicle silencer for a charge air line of a turbocharged internal combustion engine, comprising at least a first and a second housing part made of a metallic material, which are coupled together in a connection region and form an outer shell of the vehicle silencer. Furthermore, a Resonatorinnenelement is formed, which is positively received in at least one of the housing parts and at least one Kammentrennwand and then at least a first inner tube section, wherein at least a first and a second resonator are formed by the housing parts and the Resonatorinnenelement.
- the EP 1 400 662 A1 discloses a vehicle silencer with a resonator chamber wall made of a plastic and a metal perforated plate as the inner tube section.
- the EP 1 400 685 A2 discloses an air filter made of a plastic material.
- the present invention has for its object to provide an improved vehicle silencer, which despite having the simplest possible structure has a high functionality or effectiveness. This object of the invention is achieved by the vehicle muffler described in this document.
- a vehicle silencer is provided for a charge air line of a turbocharged internal combustion engine, comprising at least first and second housing parts of a metallic material, which are coupled together in a joining or connecting area and form an outer shell of the vehicle silencer.
- a resonator inner element provided, which is formed of a plastic material.
- the resonator inner element is received in a form-fitting manner in at least one of the housing parts and has at least one chamber dividing wall and subsequently at least one inner pipe section. At least two resonator chambers are formed by the housing parts and the resonator inner element.
- the advantage here is that the Resonatorinnenelement is easy to manufacture from a plastic material.
- the shape of the Resonatorinneniatas can be chosen relatively freely.
- Another advantage of the use of plastic is an achievable weight reduction compared to a Resonatorinnenelement metal. This is especially for the rising Requirements for as weight-optimized vehicles advantageous.
- due to the minimization or reduction of occasionally perceived as disturbing flow or whistling noise in the charge air of internal combustion engines, which are charged with compressor arrangements, especially with turbochargers or compressor arrangements an increased comfort level for motor vehicles can be achieved without serious weight increases occur.
- a plastic resonator inner element can be produced relatively inexpensively not only in large series, but also in small batches, since a tool for producing the resonator inner element made of plastic is easy to produce and thus the tool costs remain low.
- the Resonatorinnenelement of polyamide, in particular of a fiber-reinforced polyamide is formed.
- the resonator inner element can be formed by PA66 and / or PA6, which is reinforced with 20% to 40% fibers, preferably about 30% fibers, in particular glass fibers.
- PA66 and / or PA6 which is reinforced with 20% to 40% fibers, preferably about 30% fibers, in particular glass fibers.
- the advantage here is that such a plastic has a relatively good heat resistance and also allows a simple and cost-effective production or processing.
- such a plastic has little distortion or good dimensional stability even at relatively high temperatures.
- sufficient mechanical strength can be achieved in order to be able to insert or press the resonator inner element into the outer casing or into at least one housing part of the vehicle silencer in a dimensionally accurate and long-term stable position.
- Such a plastic also allows a relatively tailor-made production, so that defective productions can be kept behind.
- the good dimensional stability and toughness also ensures the longest possible retention of the planned function or, thus, any possible vibrations or disturbing rattling noises within the specified vehicle silencer can be reliably prevented.
- an injection molded part is inexpensive to manufacture, especially in mass production.
- an injection molded part can be designed as freely as possible with respect to its shape, whereby this can be well adapted to the requirements of the vehicle silencer.
- the resonator inner element has an axially extending centering projection on the outer circumference of its chamber dividing wall, which is coupled to one of the housing parts or bears against its inner surface.
- the centering lug is rotationally symmetrical about the central axis.
- the resonator inner element can be accommodated in a housing part, which is likewise rotationally symmetrical.
- the resonator inner element does not have to be aligned in any particular angular position with respect to the central axis.
- the assembly of the resonator can be accelerated or simplified.
- the two housing parts at least in their connection region rotationally symmetrical about the resonator, in particular around its central axis, are formed.
- the advantage here is that such trained housing parts, for example, by a deep-drawing process, can be produced efficiently.
- the mass production of the housing parts is simple and inexpensive possible.
- the two housing parts may have a joining or separating plane that is normal to the center axis, with the resonator inner element being pushed into one of the housing parts in the axial direction.
- the advantage here is that the housing parts can thereby pot-shaped or cup-shaped and the Resonatorinnenelement can be well integrated or used in the housing parts in the course of assembly.
- the series production of the housing parts by means of a metal or sheet-metal deep-drawing process is simple and inexpensive.
- the resonator inner element has a second inner pipe section, wherein the first and the second inner pipe section respectively connect to the chamber partition wall, and extend in opposite axial directions.
- the resonator inner element has webs which connect in the radial direction to the first inner pipe section and / or webs, which adjoin the second inner pipe section and are each connected at a first web end face with the chamber parting wall.
- the advantage here is that such webs can serve as stiffeners to stabilize the resonator inner element formed of plastic, in particular the two inner tube sections.
- the webs on a second web end face have a support portion which cooperates with at least one of the housing parts.
- all support sections or at least one of the support sections for punctiform or as small as possible, axially directed support and relative positioning of the Resonatorinneniatas be formed within the outer shell. It is advantageous that a relatively good thermal decoupling between the metallic housing parts of the outer shell and the Resonatorinnenelement made of plastic can be achieved. In addition, unwanted axial displacements of the resonator inner element, for example due to the flow pressures occurring or due to vibrations, can thereby be avoided in a simple and reliable manner.
- the centering projection is tongue-like or in the form of a sealing lip and dimensioned such that it is urged under elastic prestress against an inner circumferential surface of the first or further housing part.
- This can be achieved in a reliable manner a backlash-free and thus vibration-free fitting of the Resonatorinneniatas in the vehicle muffler.
- this may result in a possibly desired, relatively fluid separation in the contact or transition region between the peripheral portion of the resonator inner element and the inner lateral surfaces of the first or further housing part are created.
- the resonator inner element is formed by a polymer selected from the group of polyolefins or polyethylene terephthalate, or else mixtures of these polymers.
- a plastic in the sense of this description is an organic, polymeric solid which is produced synthetically or semi-synthetically from monomeric organic molecules or biopolymers.
- a polyolefin in the sense of this description is a collective term for polymers prepared from alkenes such as ethylene, propylene, 1-butene or isobutene by polymerization or polyolefin copolymers such as polyethylene and polypropylene.

The
The present invention has for its object to provide an improved vehicle silencer, which despite having the simplest possible structure has a high functionality or effectiveness.
This object of the invention is achieved by the vehicle muffler described in this document.
A vehicle silencer is provided for a charge air line of a turbocharged internal combustion engine, comprising at least first and second housing parts of a metallic material, which are coupled together in a joining or connecting area and form an outer shell of the vehicle silencer. Furthermore, a resonator inner element provided, which is formed of a plastic material. The resonator inner element is received in a form-fitting manner in at least one of the housing parts and has at least one chamber dividing wall and subsequently at least one inner pipe section. At least two resonator chambers are formed by the housing parts and the resonator inner element.
The advantage here is that the Resonatorinnenelement is easy to manufacture from a plastic material. In particular, the shape of the Resonatorinnenelementes can be chosen relatively freely. Thus, it is possible to form resonator chambers, which can be optimally matched to the requirements of the sound attenuation. Another advantage of the use of plastic is an achievable weight reduction compared to a Resonatorinnenelement metal. This is especially for the rising Requirements for as weight-optimized vehicles advantageous. In addition, due to the minimization or reduction of occasionally perceived as disturbing flow or whistling noise in the charge air of internal combustion engines, which are charged with compressor arrangements, especially with turbochargers or compressor arrangements, an increased comfort level for motor vehicles can be achieved without serious weight increases occur. In addition, a plastic resonator inner element can be produced relatively inexpensively not only in large series, but also in small batches, since a tool for producing the resonator inner element made of plastic is easy to produce and thus the tool costs remain low.
It may be expedient if the Resonatorinnenelement of polyamide, in particular of a fiber-reinforced polyamide is formed. In particular, the resonator inner element can be formed by PA66 and / or PA6, which is reinforced with 20% to 40% fibers, preferably about 30% fibers, in particular glass fibers. The advantage here is that such a plastic has a relatively good heat resistance and also allows a simple and cost-effective production or processing. In addition, such a plastic has little distortion or good dimensional stability even at relatively high temperatures. In addition, sufficient mechanical strength can be achieved in order to be able to insert or press the resonator inner element into the outer casing or into at least one housing part of the vehicle silencer in a dimensionally accurate and long-term stable position. Such a plastic also allows a relatively tailor-made production, so that defective productions can be kept behind. The good dimensional stability and toughness also ensures the longest possible retention of the planned function or, thus, any possible vibrations or disturbing rattling noises within the specified vehicle silencer can be reliably prevented.
Furthermore, it can be provided to form the resonator inner element by an injection molded part. The advantage here is that an injection molded part is inexpensive to manufacture, especially in mass production. In addition, an injection molded part can be designed as freely as possible with respect to its shape, whereby this can be well adapted to the requirements of the vehicle silencer.
In addition, it can be provided that the resonator inner element has an axially extending centering projection on the outer circumference of its chamber dividing wall, which is coupled to one of the housing parts or bears against its inner surface. The advantage here is that the Resonatorinnenelement can be well received in one of the housing parts and fixed in its plangemäßen position or position by the centering approach. In addition, the Resonatorinnenelement can be easily inserted or inserted into one of the housing parts by the centering approach.
Also advantageous is an expression, according to which the centering lug is rotationally symmetrical about the central axis. As a result, the resonator inner element can be accommodated in a housing part, which is likewise rotationally symmetrical. In addition, the resonator inner element does not have to be aligned in any particular angular position with respect to the central axis. Thus, the assembly of the resonator can be accelerated or simplified.
Furthermore, it may be expedient that the two housing parts, at least in their connection region rotationally symmetrical about the resonator, in particular around its central axis, are formed. The advantage here is that such trained housing parts, for example, by a deep-drawing process, can be produced efficiently. Thus, the mass production of the housing parts is simple and inexpensive possible.
Furthermore, it may be expedient for the two housing parts to have a joining or separating plane that is normal to the center axis, with the resonator inner element being pushed into one of the housing parts in the axial direction. The advantage here is that the housing parts can thereby pot-shaped or cup-shaped and the Resonatorinnenelement can be well integrated or used in the housing parts in the course of assembly. Thus, the series production of the housing parts by means of a metal or sheet-metal deep-drawing process is simple and inexpensive.
It is further provided that the resonator inner element has a second inner pipe section, wherein the first and the second inner pipe section respectively connect to the chamber partition wall, and extend in opposite axial directions. The advantage here is that the two pipe sections each form a resonator and thus a desired or improved sound damping effect of the vehicle silencer can be achieved.
In addition, it is provided that the resonator inner element has webs which connect in the radial direction to the first inner pipe section and / or webs, which adjoin the second inner pipe section and are each connected at a first web end face with the chamber parting wall. The advantage here is that such webs can serve as stiffeners to stabilize the resonator inner element formed of plastic, in particular the two inner tube sections.
Finally, it can be provided that the webs on a second web end face have a support portion which cooperates with at least one of the housing parts. The advantage here is that the webs can thereby contribute to the correct positioning of the Resonatorinnenelementes in the two housing parts.
According to an expedient embodiment, all support sections or at least one of the support sections for punctiform or as small as possible, axially directed support and relative positioning of the Resonatorinnenelementes be formed within the outer shell.
According to a practicable embodiment, it is provided that the centering projection is tongue-like or in the form of a sealing lip and dimensioned such that it is urged under elastic prestress against an inner circumferential surface of the first or further housing part. This can be achieved in a reliable manner a backlash-free and thus vibration-free fitting of the Resonatorinnenelementes in the vehicle muffler. In addition, this may result in a possibly desired, relatively fluid separation in the contact or transition region between the peripheral portion of the resonator inner element and the inner lateral surfaces of the first or further housing part are created.
Furthermore, it can be provided that, as an alternative to the use of polyamide, the resonator inner element is formed by a polymer selected from the group of polyolefins or polyethylene terephthalate, or else mixtures of these polymers.
A plastic in the sense of this description is an organic, polymeric solid which is produced synthetically or semi-synthetically from monomeric organic molecules or biopolymers.
A polyolefin in the sense of this description is a collective term for polymers prepared from alkenes such as ethylene, propylene, 1-butene or isobutene by polymerization or polyolefin copolymers such as polyethylene and polypropylene.

This ensures that upon insertion of the
Subsequent to the centering
By the first
The first

Furthermore, the resonator

Analogously, it can be provided that a first web end face 57 of the
It is expedient here if the

Furthermore, it is conceivable that a

At the beginning of the production process, the
The
In a further method step, the resonator
As already mentioned, it is not important how the resonator

In a further method step, the

In this embodiment, a further
As a
