An item of furniture (1) for displaying various items, of the type comprising a stationary part (2), at least one opening panel (3), the opening panel(s) (3) defining, with said stationary part (2), an enclosure (4) for displaying items, and lighting means for the inside said enclosure (4), said or at least one of the opening panels (3) including a transparent or translucent element, preferably made from glass, having two opposite edges (7), called transverse, and two longitudinal edges connecting said transverse edges (7) to one another, the lighting means comprise at least one strip (5) of light-emitting diodes and electricity supply means (6) for said at least one strip (6), in that the opening panel (3), or at least one of the opening panels (3), is provided, on its so-called inner face turned toward the inside of the enclosure (4), with the or at least one of the strips (5) of light-emitting diodes, this strip (5) of diodes extending from one of the longitudinal edges (8) of said opening panel (3) toward the other longitudinal edge, characterized in that each transverse edge (7) being bordered by an electrically conductive profile (9), such as a metal profile, equipped with rolling or friction members (10) for a sliding assembly of each of said transverse edges (7) along a stationary rail (11) arranged on the stationary part (2) of said item of furniture (1), in that the power supply means (6) for said strip (5) comprise a first series of electrical wires (61, 62), called electrification wires, for the stationary rails (11), on the one hand, these wires (61) extending from said stationary rails (11) to a low-voltage transformer (63) able to be connected to a current source, and on the other hand, a second series of electrical wires (64, 65) extending from said strip (5) of light-emitting diodes to the profiles (9) bordering the transverse edges (7) of the transparent or translucent element or passing through one of the longitudinal edges (8) of said opening panel, and in that the rolling or friction members (10) are made from an electrically conductive material to ensure the electrical continuity between stationary rails (11) and profiles (9).
  2. The item of furniture (1) according to claim 1,
    characterized in that the wires (64, 65) from the second series of wires are, at the longitudinal edge (8) of the opening panel (3), arranged in the thickness of said opening panel (3).

    characterized in that the wires (64, 65) of the second series of wires are, at the longitudinal edge of the opening panel (3), inserted in a slot (12) arranged in the edge of said opening panel (3).
  4. The item of furniture (1) according to claim 3,
    characterized in that the wires (64, 65) of the second series of wires are, at the longitudinal edge (8) of the opening panel (3), maintained in said slot (12) by an adhesive (13).
  5. The item of furniture (1) according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that the wires (61, 62) of the first series of wires are each positioned, over at least part of their length, between stationary rail (11) and stationary part (2) of the item of furniture.
  6. The item of furniture (1) according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that the or each strip (5) of light-emitting diodes is positioned on the opening panel (3) with which it is associated separated from the transverse edges (7) of said opening panel (3).
  7. The item of furniture (1) according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that the or at least one of the opening panels (3) assumes the form of an inverted U, the transverse edges (7) of the opening panel (3) being formed by the free end edges of the branches of the U and the longitudinal edges (8) by the connecting edges of the free end edges of the branches of the U, between them.
  8. The item of furniture (1) according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that the enclosure (4) assumes a generally parallelepiped shape of the top face and the two opposite side faces are formed using two transparent or translucent elements in the shape of an inverted U mounted partially overlapping, at least one of the transparent or translucent elements (3) forming the opening panel or one of the opening panels of said item of furniture, this or these opening panel(s) sliding along a direction parallel to the transparent or translucent side faces formed by the branches of the Us.
