Definitions
- the length of the actually used yarn is measured and compared with a pre-calculated setpoint. If the deviation of the actual value from the target value exceeds a predetermined tolerance limit, then the measured actual value of the yarn consumption is corrected by changing the stitch length by a corresponding control of trigger parts, in particular of needle knives of the machine, until its deviation from the desired value lies within the tolerance limits again.
- the nominal value of the yarn consumption for a row to be knitted not only the mesh size typical per needle but also possibly existing transitions between the needle beds as well as possible offset movements of the needle beds and any floats are included.
- other parameters such as the type of thread used, the thread tension, the mutual spacing of the needle beds and properties of the knitted type of binding such as right-right, single-bed or rib knit, which also affect the yarn length, make it impossible to set the setpoint with absolute precision determine. If the type of binding remains the same within a knitted part, the actual value of the yarn consumption can be brought to the desired value within a few knitting rows by regulating the yarn length.
- the EP 0 699 792 A1 describes a method for controlling the thread length during the production of an intarsia tricot or rib knit on a flat knitting machine for its manufacture several different yarns from different directions must be fed to a knitting lock.
- a test fabric is first prepared.
- the resulting correction values for the trigger parts are then adopted for further production. During the actual production process, no changes are made to the correction values.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a method for controlling the yarn consumption, with which these corrections can be avoided at the transition to another type of binding.
- the correction values determined for the respective types of weave can be further improved.
- the length of the rows of stitches is not taken into account for determining the correction values per type of weave. If you want to make the same knitwear in a different size, you have to for the new size, no recalculation of the correction values for the weave types occurring in the knit fabric. The once determined correction values are also valid for all new sizes.
- the thread length measuring means used to make the binding type, and the direction of the carriage of the flat knitting machine can be taken into account for determining the correction values per binding type.
- different yarn tensions can occur. Even with a transition from one needle bed to another, more yarn is needed between the stitches than between adjacent stitches of the same needle bed.
- a separate yarn guide with associated thread length measuring device is used for each yarn also a separate yarn guide with associated thread length measuring device. If it is therefore determined which yarn length measuring device the determined yarn length originates from, the yarn quality is also included in the determination of the correction values.
- an average value can be formed and stored from the correction values determined in each stitch row.
- the value obtained in this way is very stable, so that during the transition to further production of the desired knitwear the correction values for all weave types are already very accurate and only fluctuations in the yarn quality during production have to be compensated.
- the knits are designed at so-called design design facilities or patterning facilities, the one Designers offer various graphic aids and display options of his knit design and also automatically create machine control data from the design.
- the pattern data of the knitted fabric with the weave types and the deduction partial positions are transferred from such a knit design design to the flat knitting machine.
- the correction values stored for each type of binding can be used for triggering the withdrawal parts for other knitted fabrics having the same binding types and / or can be transferred to other knitting machines.
- the correction values can preferably be stored in a memory of the machine and / or on an external storage medium to which several machines have access.
- the yarn consumption control can also be switched off for certain or all fabric areas. This can be advantageous in particular if, from a technical point of view, regulation in a region such as a cuff is not desired.
- the regulation can be reactivated at any time. The determination of the correction values based on pattern data and a first knit piece is no longer necessary in this case, even if changing to other sizes and / or yarn qualities.
- the currently knitted weave type is displayed with the used correction values. This allows visual control of the production process.
- the invention also relates to a flat knitting machine for carrying out a method according to the invention with at least two needle beds, a carriage with at least one lock system and a plurality of thread guides with associated thread length measuring devices, which is characterized in that it has a device for mesh length control, the data from the yarn length measuring devices a comparison of Actual values of the yarn consumption are stored with stored in a memory setpoints of yarn consumption and using data of a knit design designer for each type of binding correction values for the position of trigger parts of the at least one lock system generates and generates control signals for the trigger parts on the at least one lock system.
- the device for mesh length control can also have a memory for the correction values determined for each binding type.
- the correction values can be stored elsewhere in the flat knitting machine and / or on an external storage medium.
- the single FIGURE shows a schematic view of a knit design design device 1 and a flat knitting machine 2.
- the knit design design facility 1 off Fig.1 has as a central unit on a computer 10, run on the programs for creating knitted patterns. With the help of a keyboard 11 or a pad 12, the desired shape, the type of binding, the yarns to be used and the size of the knitted fabric can be entered. The on the Calculator 10 existing programs create a draft for the knit and display this on a display device 13 in various forms of representation. When designing the knitted fabric, depending on the desired mesh appearance and size, information about the trim part positions for the different weave types is also specified. After completion of the design, the design data is transferred from the computer 10 to a flat knitting machine 2, which is indicated by the arrow W.
- a first knitted piece 21 having the same pattern data as the knit pieces to be subsequently produced is first created using the design data.
- all deduction partial data applicable to the respective types of binding the combination of stitch formation on the front and rear needle bed and the direction of a carriage 23 of the machine 2 are detected.
- a thread length measurement is carried out before each thread guide used and the associated thread length measuring device 22 is detected.
- These data are stored and the measured actual value of the yarn consumption compared with a stored setpoint. If the actual value deviates from the nominal value outside of a tolerance limit, a correction value for the mesh length is calculated and the deduction partial specification for the binding type is corrected and stored accordingly. With the corrected values, corresponding control signals for the withdrawal parts of the machine 2 are then generated.
- the following knit pieces are produced using the correction values per type of weave, the stitch length optionally being further adjusted due to yarn variations that occur.

Description
To monitor and control the yarn consumption on a flat knitting machine, the length of the actually used yarn is measured and compared with a pre-calculated setpoint.
When calculating the nominal value of the yarn consumption for a row to be knitted, not only the mesh size typical per needle but also possibly existing transitions between the needle beds as well as possible offset movements of the needle beds and any floats are included. However, other parameters such as the type of thread used, the thread tension, the mutual spacing of the needle beds and properties of the knitted type of binding such as right-right, single-bed or rib knit, which also affect the yarn length, make it impossible to set the setpoint with absolute precision determine. If the type of binding remains the same within a knitted part, the actual value of the yarn consumption can be brought to the desired value within a few knitting rows by regulating the yarn length.
However, if the type of weave changes within a knitted fabric, the actual values at the transition can deviate greatly from the target values, which leads to large corrections, some of which only settle over several knitting rows. These knitting rows have visible variations in stitch length.

The present invention has for its object to provide a method for controlling the yarn consumption, with which these corrections can be avoided at the transition to another type of binding.
The object is achieved by a method having the features of
In the method according to the invention, after the detection of the correction values on the first knitted piece in the production of the further knitted pieces, very good correction values for the triggering of the deduction parts are made available already at the beginning of an area in a new binding type. During production, only yarn fluctuations must be recorded and included in the correction values. This eliminates the previously necessary adjustment knitting rows with visible fluctuations in the stitch length.
In the production of the other knitted fabrics, the correction values determined for the respective types of weave can be further improved.
The length of the rows of stitches is not taken into account for determining the correction values per type of weave. If you want to make the same knitwear in a different size, you have to for the new size, no recalculation of the correction values for the weave types occurring in the knit fabric. The once determined correction values are also valid for all new sizes.
To further increase the accuracy, knitting on the front or back needle bed, the thread length measuring means used to make the binding type, and the direction of the carriage of the flat knitting machine can be taken into account for determining the correction values per binding type. Depending on the carriage direction, different yarn tensions can occur. Even with a transition from one needle bed to another, more yarn is needed between the stitches than between adjacent stitches of the same needle bed. For each yarn also a separate yarn guide with associated thread length measuring device is used. If it is therefore determined which yarn length measuring device the determined yarn length originates from, the yarn quality is also included in the determination of the correction values.
In the case of an area with several courses of stitches of the first knitted piece produced in a certain type of weave, or even if such a section is repeated elsewhere in the knitted fabric, an average value can be formed and stored from the correction values determined in each stitch row. The value obtained in this way is very stable, so that during the transition to further production of the desired knitwear the correction values for all weave types are already very accurate and only fluctuations in the yarn quality during production have to be compensated.
In modern flat knitting machines, the knits are designed at so-called design design facilities or patterning facilities, the one Designers offer various graphic aids and display options of his knit design and also automatically create machine control data from the design. In the method according to the invention, it is therefore also expedient that the pattern data of the knitted fabric with the weave types and the deduction partial positions are transferred from such a knit design design to the flat knitting machine.
It is also advantageous if the correction values stored for each type of binding can be used for triggering the withdrawal parts for other knitted fabrics having the same binding types and / or can be transferred to other knitting machines. For this purpose, the correction values can preferably be stored in a memory of the machine and / or on an external storage medium to which several machines have access.
The yarn consumption control can also be switched off for certain or all fabric areas. This can be advantageous in particular if, from a technical point of view, regulation in a region such as a cuff is not desired. The regulation can be reactivated at any time. The determination of the correction values based on pattern data and a first knit piece is no longer necessary in this case, even if changing to other sizes and / or yarn qualities.
For the operator of the flat knitting machine, it is also advantageous if, during production of the knitted fabric on a display device, the currently knitted weave type is displayed with the used correction values. This allows visual control of the production process.
The invention also relates to a flat knitting machine for carrying out a method according to the invention with at least two needle beds, a carriage with at least one lock system and a plurality of thread guides with associated thread length measuring devices, which is characterized in that it has a device for mesh length control, the data from the yarn length measuring devices a comparison of Actual values of the yarn consumption are stored with stored in a memory setpoints of yarn consumption and using data of a knit design designer for each type of binding correction values for the position of trigger parts of the at least one lock system generates and generates control signals for the trigger parts on the at least one lock system.
The device for mesh length control can also have a memory for the correction values determined for each binding type. However, the correction values can be stored elsewhere in the flat knitting machine and / or on an external storage medium.
In the following, a method according to the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawing.

On the
