Description

  • The present invention relates to a door closing mechanism bearing a system being capable of providing fixing of latching activation process, at any degree appropriate within the latching area ranging from 12 to 0°, also bearing a shaft tightening onto the cam system being invented, manufactured and marketed for first by us exclusively.
  • According to the up today art technology, various door closing control mechanisms are designed and offered to the market, consisting the means necessary for operation of modern building entrance doors, block of flats entrance doors, bank entrance doors, organisms entrance doors and other buildings entrance doors, enabling smooth, noiseless and secure door closing.
  • The solution most commonly and widely used for residential buildings, being the technology of mounting of such mechanisms, either on the door upper egde and/or the door lower edge away from its rotation shaft, in a fixed position by means of an arm.
  • By developing of modern buildings, where the entrance doors are mostly made of glass, automatically controlled underfloor door closing mechanisms have been provided, said being mounted in an especially dug ground hole of significant dimensions - usually of the order of 30 X 15 cm to 6 cm deep-, enabling the glass door lower end to be fastened on a metal clamp in a fixed position, by means of an arm resulting to an underfloor mechanism pin reception hole.
  • Moreover, these mechanisms already known, are equipped with some latching system being capable of defining one and only particular latching process initiation degree, -said degree normally being approximately the 12° position, prior to closing-, for lock tongue resistance elimination and door closing achievement.
  • Prior technology floor mechanisms are at a disadvantage for the reason that, they provide no option other than the particular 12° position for defining and fixing of latching initiation process, for lock tongue resistance elimination and door closing achievement they are also being incapable of providing safe door opening up and parking beyond ±90° and as mentioned above, they are relatively bulky and their installation process is being time consuming and costly.
  • Documents EP 2 426 300 A1 , KR 2010 0061024 A , WO 2006/068005 A1 , WO 2007/135341 A1 , FR 2 311 918 A1 disclose door closing mechanisms of the prior art. The present invention, which is obtained by the combination of the features of claim 1, aims to overcome and eliminate all problems and disadvantages of existing technological level mentioned above, by presenting of a new technology for first time, being materialized by a door closing mechanism, bearing a system being capable of defining latching activation process at any degree appropriate within the latching area ranging from 12° to 0°, thus being able to respond to closing acceleration requirements being created by each particular door dimensions, for door lock tongue resistance neutralization and achievement of smooth and secure door closing. Said mechanism providing also effective tightening up of shaft onto the cam, door parking beyond the 90° position - Station A and specifically at door positions of ±135°- Station B, ±165°- Station ┌ and ±180 Station Δ-, as well as, door rotation up to 360° with suffering no damage whatsoever. Additionally, said invention mechanism is capable of being fixed on the upper/and or lower door edge, or even on both door edges, vertically/and or horizontally occupying minimal space and therefore any ground hole opening for mounting of the mechanism is eliminated.
  • Additionally, with proposed invention mechanism the installation process of each particular door is simplified and facilitated considerably, for the bigger part of this process can henceforth be carried out prior to door transporting, from production to the installation place, the only action remaining, being the placing of the metal plate, necessary for the mechanism quadrilateral button immobilization.
  • An aspect of the present invention, being the special design of the proposed door closing mechanism, by combining the functions of door glass panel clamp and that of hinge, receiving all vertical and radial fatigues caused by said glass door panel weight and forces being developed during its operation, by means of hydraulic movement ensuring its perfect, secure, noiseless and completely reliable operation.
  • One more aspect, of the invention is to present a series of technological novelties and achievements, as regards the structural components constituting the mechanism, additionally increasing its advantages, as regards its strength and manufacture safety without overcharging, but rather to the contrary minimize the construction cost.
  • The invention integrates the proposed innovative features and the technological achievements in a door closing mechanism being capable of defining and controlling latching activation at any degree appropriate within the latching area ranging from 12° to 0°, thus becoming capable of responding to closing acceleration requirements being created by each particular door dimensions and moreover to combine the advantages of perfection, reliability, sufficient strength, long life duration, convenience in mounting, installation and maintenance, low cost, high aesthetics and functionality.
  • With the present invention is presented a door closing mechanism for first time, being characterized in that it bears a system being capable of defining and fixing the door latching speed activation at any degree appropriate, within the latching area ranging from 12° to 0°, bearing also a shaft tightening onto the cam system.
  • Said door latching activation system consists of a safety valve in combination with a round plate with a specially designed circular groove of uneven depth engraved in its internal surface, having also a pressure relief shaft and is characterized in that is capable of defining and fixing latching activation process, at any degree appropriate within the latching area ranging from 12° to 0°, in order that the push required is applied - depending on each particular door dimensions-, resulting to lock tongue resistance being neutralized, thus smooth and secure closing being achieved.
  • Said shaft-cam system may consist of a shaft-carrier in combination with a conical swelling pin, a tightening screw -morso-, a six-geared splinted shaft and a specially designed cam, enabling door parking past the ±90° and rotating up to 360°.
  • The object of the invention will become fully understood by reference to the accompanying drawings, where it is shown descriptively as a whole and in partial details constituting it, in an indicative and not at all restrictive example of embodiment, where:

  • More specifically, the door closing mechanism of the invention consists of a fixed body (1), said also being used as a clamping mechanism in combination with a piston (2) performing reciprocating motion within a piston cylinder (18) bearing a threaded return spring (7) internally and an elongated groove (4) for door shaft rotation movement. A housing (5) for supporting of a front bearing (10) and a housing (6) for supporting of a rear pair of bearings (12), monitoring the eccentric motion and locating of pins (11) for fixing of said front bearing (10) onto a six-gear splinted shaft (3). Holes (19) for mounting of a front cover- (28) around the piston cylinder (18)· a sealing ring -O ring- (26)· a door speed rotation regulation valve (22), a non-return valve (27)· a first oil compartment (29) and a second oil compartment (30)· an oil inlet (35) and an oil inlet seal (36)· a front cover (28) and a rear cover (21) with flexible sealing rings (37), being characterized in that it carries a latching control system being capable of defining latching activation at any degree appropriate, within the arc ranging from 12° to 0° and also being characterized in that it bears a shaft tightening onto the cam system.
  • Said latching control system consists of a round plate (38) bearing a specially designed circular groove (39) of uneven depth engraved in its internal surface, said round plate (38) being seated inside the rear cover (21) and fastened onto the piston cylinder (18) by means of screws (8)· a safety valve (52) bearing a tension regulating screw (43), a spring (42), an oil safety ball (41), a pressure relief shaft (40) and a spring safety pin (47), for prohibiting dislocation of round plate (38) towards the oil compartment during the latching regulation, being characterized in that, it is by means of the uneven depth of said circular groove (39), that becomes capable of defining latching activation at any degree appropriate within the arc ranging from 12° to 0°, depending on each particular door dimensions, in order that the push desirable is applied for effective door closing achievement.
  • Additionally, said system is characterized in that, is being capable of relieving any excess over the tolerable pressure, by means of the safety valve (52) - i.e. in case of excess pressure creation, either because of violent door pushing and/or mishandling in general-, so that any risk of damage is eliminated and safe and perfect mechanism operation is secured.
  • Said tightening system consists of a shaft-carrier (9) in combination with a conical pin (45), a tightening screw -morso- (46), a six-geared splinted shaft (3) and a cam (15) bearing integrated upper and lower heart shaped configurations (14), as well as a special peripheral configuration, enabling the linear guitar-piston movement (2) within the area of -90° - 0° - +90°, as well as providing the stations A, B, Γ and Δ a corner contact bearing (31) for mounting of the shaft-carrier (9) upper part and a ring plate (32) for mounting of said shaft-carrier (9) in the mechanism main body bottom a radial load receiver bearing (33) on said shaft-carrier (9) and a sealing ring -O ring-(34), around its upper end and is characterized in that, the central shaft-carrier (9) is capable of being expanded, so that in combination with the insertion of said conical pin (45) and tightening of screw -morso-(46), firm tightening and locking of said central shaft-carrier (9) onto the cam (15) is being achieved. It is also being characterized in that, said cam (15) apart from Station A - door opening of 90°-, carries additional Stations B, ┌ and Δ specially designed, enabling the door parking past the ±90° positions and specifically at opening positions of ±135° - Station B, ±165° - Station Γ - and Station Δ -180°- and moreover, in that the mechanism is capable of being rotated up to 360° with suffering no damage whatsoever.
  • OPERATION OF MECHANISM
  • By door being rotated, the cam movement (15) is being followed by front bearing (10), while threaded return spring (7) is being compressed by means of piston (2), until the 90° door rotation is reached and cam station A is found, corresponding to open door position. During this process the oil being in first oil compartment (29) passes through to second oil compartment (30), by means of non-return valve (27).
  • By pushing, the door is being disengaged from cam station A and piston (2) is being pushed, by means of threaded return spring (7), while, at the same time the bearing (10) is being driven away, thus resulting to mechanism being rotated from 90° to 0° position -closed door position-.
  • During this phase, the oil being in second oil compartment (30) that is not allowed to escape towards the first oil compartment (29) through the non-return valve (27), for its passage is being blocked by the safety oil ball (41), escapes into the oil gate (49) and thereof into the oil circulation pipe (50), where its flow rate is being regulated by means of door speed rotation regulation valve (22) for achievement of smooth closing and following this, returns to the first oil compartment (29) via the oil gate (51).
  • Said system is also capable of relieving any excess pressure, in case of a force being exercised, greater than that tolerable secure by the mechanism, during door rotation from 90° to 0° and more specifically, the safety valve spring (42) is being compressed, by means of said force being exercised on oil safety ball (41) by the pressure relief axis (40), thus any excess pressure having been created within the second oil compartment (30) is being released, eliminating any mechanism damage risk and securing smooth and safe operation.
  • LATCHING PROCESS ACTIVATION CONTROL
  • By door reaching the appropriate latching activation degree, the oil safety ball (41) is being pushed by means of pressure relief shaft (40) and the safety valve spring (42) is being compressed, thus, oil passage way is being opened through second oil compartment (30), towards first oil compartment (29), whereby the mechanism rotational movement is being accelerated with direction towards the 0° position -closed door-, resulting to neutralization of lock tongue obstacle and achievement of smooth door closing.
  • Said door closing mechanism is capable of being constructed in various dimensions so that, different uses and needs to be covered, as well as, may be manufactured by any metal material considered suitable for the this purpose.

A door closing mechanism, consisting of a fixed body (1), said fixed body (1) also being used as a clamping mechanism for clamping of a door, in combination with a piston (2) performing reciprocating motion within a piston cylinder (18) bearing a coil return spring (7) internally and comprising an elongated groove (4) for door pivot rotation movement, said piston (2) also bearing a housing (5) for supporting of a front bearing (10) and a housing (6) for supporting of a rear pair of bearings (12) located on pins (11), said bearings (11,12) monitoring the eccentric motion of a cam system (15) tightened onto a six tooth splined shaft (3) by a shaft tightening system, said fixed body (1) comprising holes (19) for mounting of a front cover- (28) around the piston cylinder (18), said piston (2) bearing a sealing O ring (26), said door closing mechanism comprising a door speed rotation regulation valve (22), a non-return valve (27), a first oil compartment (29) and a second oil compartment (30), an oil inlet (35) and an oil inlet seal (36), the front cover (28) and a rear cover (21) with flexible sealing rings (37), wherein said door closing mechanism further comprises a latching control system being capable of defining latching activation at any degree appropriate, within the arc ranging from 12° to 0°, where said latching control system consists of a round plate (38) bearing a specially designed circular groove (39) of uneven depth engraved in its internal surface, being seated inside the rear cover (21) and fastened onto the piston cylinder (18) with screws (8), whereby by means of its uneven depth characteristic, said circular groove (39) is being capable of defining latching activation at any degree appropriate within the arc ranging from 12° to 0°, by exercising the push required, depending on each particular door dimensions, this resulting to achievement of effective door closing, while by means of a safety valve (52) bearing a tension regulating screw (43), a spring (42), an oil safety ball (41), a pressure relief shaft (40) and a spring safety pin (47) for prohibiting the dislocation of said round plate (38) towards the oil compartment during latching speed regulation, where by door reaching the appropriate latching activation degree, the oil safety ball (41) is being pushed by means of pressure relief shaft (40) and the safety valve spring (42) is being compressed, thus an oil passage way is being opened through second oil compartment (30), towards the first oil compartment (29), whereby the mechanism rotational movement is being accelerated with direction towards the 0° position, i.e. the closed door position, resulting to neutralization of lock tongue obstacle and achievement of smooth door closing.

A door closing mechanism as in claim 1, characterized in that, said shaft tightening system consists of a shaft-carrier (9) in combination with a conical pin (45), a tightening screw (46), a six tooth splined shaft (3) and a cam (15), a corner contact bearing (31) for mounting of said shaft-carrier (9) upper part and a ring plate (32) for mounting of said shaft-carrier (9) in the mechanism main body bottom, a radial load receiver bearing (33) on said shaft-carrier (9) and a sealing O ring (34), around its upper end.
  3. A door closing mechanism as in claims 1, & 2, characterized in that, said shaft-carrier (9) is capable of being expanded, so that by means of inserting said conical pin (45) and tightening of said screw (46), firm tightening and locking of said central shaft-carrier (9) onto the cam (15) is being achieved.
  4. A door closing mechanism, as in claims 1, 2 & 3, characterized in that, said cam (15) bears integrated upper and lower heart shaped configurations (14), as well as a special peripheral configuration, enabling the linear guitar-piston movement (2) within the area of -90° - 0° - +90°, as well as providing door parking at different stations (A, B, Γ, Δ).

A door closing mechanism, as in claims 1, 2, 3 & 4, characterized in that, it is by means of said peripheral special configuration of the cam (15) that said stations (B, Γ, Δ ) are being provided, enabling the door parking past the ± 90° and specifically at opening positions of ±135° (B), ±165° (Γ). and ±180° (Δ) and moreover in that, the mechanism is capable of being rotated up to 360°, suffering no damage whatsoever.
  6. A door closing mechanism, as in claims 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, characterized in that, it is capable of relieving any excess pressure, in case of a force exercised being greater than that tolerable secure by the mechanism, during door rotation from 90° to 0° and more specifically, the safety valve spring (42) is being compressed, by means of said force being exercised on oil safety ball (41) by the pressure relief axis (40), thus any excess pressure having been created within the second oil compartment (30) is being released, eliminating any mechanism damage risk and securing smooth and safe operation.
  7. A door closing mechanism, as in claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6, characterized in that, the push desirable of said safety valve (52), is capable of being regulated by means of said regulating screw (43).
  8. A door closing mechanism, as in claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 characterized in that, it functions as follows: by door being rotated towards the 90° direction the cam movement (15) is being followed by front bearing (10), while said coil return spring (7) is being compressed by means of piston (2) and when the 90° door rotation position is reached corresponding to cam station A, i.e. the open door position, the oil being in first oil compartment (29) passes through to second oil compartment (30), by means of said non-return valve (27)· by further pushing, for door being disengaged from cam station A, said piston (2) is also being pushed, by means of said coil return spring (7), while, at the same time said bearing (10) is being driven away, thus resulting to mechanism being rotated from 90° to 0° position -closed door position· during this phase, the oil being in second oil compartment (30) not being allowed to escape towards said first oil compartment (29) through said non-return valve (27), for its passage is being blocked by said safety oil ball (41), escapes into the oil gate (49) and thereof into the oil circulation pipe (50), where its flow rate is being regulated by means of said door speed rotation regulation valve (22), for achievement of smooth closing and via said oil gate (51) returning to said first oil compartment (29).
