Description

The invention relates to a contact set for a connection socket according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

Contact sets for connection sockets, in particular for RJ45 sockets, are known for different transmission powers. To describe the performance of electronic components, they are categorized. Currently common categories are Cat-5, which is designed for operating frequencies up to 100 MHz, Cat-6, which is for operating frequencies up to 250 MHz or Cat-6A, which is designed for transmission frequencies up to 500 MHz and distances up to 100 m. It is quite conceivable that in the future electronic components with even better transmission characteristics will become common.

For cables or jacks to achieve transmission characteristics according to a particular category, it is required that the near end cross talk (NEXT) be suppressed to a certain extent. For this purpose it is known to provide compensation circuits which reduce or suppress the near-crosstalk.

In order to achieve the transmission characteristics of category 6a in a connection socket, it has been shown that it is advantageous to place a compensation of the crosstalk as close as possible to the contact point between the socket and a plug inserted into the socket.

The EP 1 306 934 B1 For this purpose, a socket mounted on a base circuit board before, wherein a compensation circuit board is arranged within a receiving element of a socket, which includes a compensation circuit for reducing Interference, in particular the crosstalk contains, and at which the contact elements, which are in contact with an inserted plug, are fixed, wherein the base circuit board includes a further compensation circuit for the reduction of interference.

To place a compensation circuit even closer to the contact point between the plug and socket, discloses the EP 1 858 118 A1 a socket with a contact set having a plurality of contact elements, wherein at the free ends of the contact elements, which protrude into the interior of the socket, in which the plug is inserted, a compensation circuit, for example in the form of a flexible substrate with a compensation circuit, is arranged.

The WO 0180376 A1 discloses a compensation printed circuit board arranged in the housing of the socket, on which the free ends of the contact elements, which are fastened at their other end to a printed circuit board, are resiliently abutted.

The attachment of the printed circuit boards at free ends of the contact elements is labor intensive and must be done with high accuracy.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a contact set for a connection socket, which can be manufactured with low production costs and allows compensation as close as possible to the contact point between the socket and a plug inserted into the socket.

The object is achieved by a contact set for a connection socket with the features of claim 1.

Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.

The contact set according to the invention for a connection socket, wherein the contact set has at least two contact elements, wherein the contact elements have at least a first portion, a second portion and a third portion, wherein the first portion has a connection element, wherein the contact elements by an insulating body in the second portion are fixed in their relative position to each other and wherein the third portion has a contact surface for a contact element of an insert into the connector plug, characterized in that at least two of the contact elements at a free end of the third portion having a compensation surface, wherein two compensation surfaces so are arranged such that they at least partially overlap, wherein between the two at least partially overlapping compensation surfaces, an insulating film is arranged and wherein the insulating film and the two Kompensationsfläc surrounded by an insulating housing. Due to the arrangement of the compensation surfaces on the contact elements, a circuit board to be produced in a complex manner and a complicated placement of a printed circuit board on the contact elements can be dispensed with. Nevertheless, the possibility of compensation remains in the vicinity of the contact point between the socket and a plug inserted into the socket, since the compensation surfaces are arranged at a free end of the third sections.

According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the compensation surfaces are integrally arranged on the contact elements, whereby the production is significantly simplified.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the contact elements are formed with the compensation surfaces as stamped and bent parts, whereby the production can be simplified.

Particularly preferably, the insulating housing is sprayed around the compensation surfaces, which contributes to the simplification of the manufacturing process.

Advantageously, at least four of the contact elements at a free end of the third portion on a compensation surface, wherein each two compensation surfaces are arranged such that they overlap at least partially, wherein between the two pairs of compensation surfaces an insulating film is arranged and wherein in each case a pair of compensation surfaces with the intermediate insulating film is surrounded by an insulating housing. This results in the contact set two compact packages that contain the compensation surfaces.

Advantageously, the contact set comprises eight contact elements, which are arranged next to one another in a row, wherein the middle four contact elements have compensation surfaces, and wherein, in particular, the two middle contact elements are arranged in a spatial proximity of the compensation surfaces. This allows a space-saving design of the contact set.

Vorteilhafterweise ist der Kontaktsatz für Betriebsfrequenzen bis 500 MHz geeignet und erfüllt insbesondere die Anforderungen der Kategorie 6A.Advantageously, the contact set is suitable for operating frequencies up to 500 MHz and meets in particular the requirements of category 6A.

According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the contact set has a first region in which at least two contact elements are arranged crossed to one another. As a result, a certain compensation of the near crosstalk is achieved by the arrangement of the contact elements in the contact set, which is particularly advantageous for achieving the transmission characteristics of category 6a.

A preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the contact set has a second region in which the contact elements are guided parallel to one another and at least two of the contact elements have a different distance from one another than in the first section or in the fourth section. This embodiment causes a certain compensation of the near crosstalk by the arrangement of the contact elements of the contact set, whereby the transmission properties are improved and in particular the achievement of the transmission characteristics Category 6a is improved.

Preferably, the insulation body has at least one insertion element for insertion into a socket housing, which facilitates insertion of the contact set into the socket housing of a connection socket.

FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of a contact set 10 with a plurality, in particular eight contact elements 20-1, 20-2, 20-3, 20-4, 20-5, 20-6, 20-7, 20-8, generally designated with 20, and an insulating body 30, which fixes the contact elements 20 in their relative position to each other. The contact elements 20 are made of electrically conductive material, the insulating body of insulating material, such as plastic. In particular, the insulating body 30 is injected around the contact elements 20.

The contact elements 20 have a first portion 21, a second portion 22 and a third portion 23. It should be expressly understood that the sections 21, 22, 23 need not necessarily adjoin one another directly, but may also be formed at least partially or completely overlapping.

The first section 21 has a connection element, which in the present case is designed in particular as a connection pin.

In the second section 22, the contact elements 20 are surrounded by the insulating body 30 and fixed in their relative position to each other. In this case, the first portion 21 is bent relative to the second portion 22 of the contact elements 20, in particular by 45 ° or 90 °.

The third sections 23 of the contact elements 20 have a contact surface for a contact element of a plug. In this case, the third sections 23 are bent relative to the second sections 22 such that they form a preferably acute angle with the second sections 22 or the surface of the insulation body 30. The third sections 23 are in particular designed such that they can rest under spring tension on the contact elements of the plug.

If the contact elements 20 are arranged in the insulation body 30, in particular the first sections 21 of all contact elements 20 and the third sections 23 of all contact elements 20 are aligned parallel to one another. In particular, at least the third sections 23 of the contact elements 20 can be arranged equidistantly.

The insulating body 30 may be formed as a substantially cuboidal element. The insulating body 30 has in one embodiment at least one insertion element 32, which simplifies the insertion and positioning of the contact set 10 in a female housing 52 of a connection socket 50. In this case, the insertion elements 32 may be formed such that they in guide grooves 58, which in the socket housing 52 are arranged, intervene. In a preferred embodiment, the introduction elements 32 have a chamfer 33, which further simplifies the insertion into the socket housing 52, in particular into the guide groove 58 of the socket housing 52.

In one embodiment, the insulation body 30 has at least one, for example, two latching elements 34, by means of which the insulation body 30 is latched in the socket housing 52. The locking elements 34 may be formed, for example, as undercuts in the introduction elements 32 in order to simplify the production.

The contact set 10 with contact elements 20 and the insulation body 30 has defined transmission properties. These can be through a like in FIG. 2 and 3 shown guide and crossing of the different contact elements 20, in particular in the second sections 22, specifically influenced and improved.

In one embodiment, at least two of the contact elements 20, for example the contact elements 20-1, 20-2 and / or the contact elements 20-4, 20-5 and / or the contact elements 20-7, 20-8 in a region 12 of the contact set 10 may be crossed with each other. The region 12 is arranged in particular in the insulating body 30 and lies in particular in the second portion 22 of the contact elements 20. By crossing the contact elements 20, a targeted negative feedback can be achieved by which the near-crosstalk can be reduced.

Also, to reduce near crosstalk in the contact set 10, in a second region 14 of the contact set 10 at least two of the contact elements 20 have a different distance from each other than the distance in which their first portions 21 or their third portions 23 are arranged to each other. Also by such targeted guiding the contact elements 20 at a smaller or greater distance from each other, a negative feedback can be achieved, which reduces the near crosstalk in the contact set 10. The second region 14 adjoins the first region 12 in particular and lies in particular in the second portion 22 of the contact elements 20. In particular, the second region 14 is surrounded by the insulating body 30 at least in sections. The configuration of the contact set 10 with the guidance of the contact elements 20 in the first region 12 and / or the second region 14 improves the transmission properties, but is an optional embodiment.

In order to improve the transmission properties of the contact set 10, at least two of the contact elements 20, in particular exactly four contact elements 20, for example, the four central contact elements 20-3, 20-4, 20-5, 20-6, at a free end of the third sections 23 a compensation surface 41, 42, 43, 44 on. For this purpose, the third sections 23 of the corresponding contact elements 20-3, 20-4, 20-5, 20-6 are formed longer than the third sections 23 of the contact elements 20-1, 20-2, 20-7, 20-8, which have no compensation surface. The compensation surface 41 is arranged on the third contact element 20-3, the compensation surface 42 on the fifth contact element 20-5, the compensation surface 43 on the fourth contact element 20-4 and the compensation surface 44 on the sixth contact element 20-6. Two compensation surfaces 41, 42 each; 43, 44 are arranged such that they at least partially overlap. For this purpose, in particular the free ends of the third sections 23 of the corresponding contact elements 20-3, 20-4, 20-5, 20-6 towards each other. For example, the free ends of the contact elements 20-4, 20-5 are bent. In particular, the free ends of the third portions 23 of the contact elements 20-4, 20-5 are arranged crossed. The contact surfaces 41, 42 of the contact elements 20-3, 20-5 may overlap one another and form a pair, while on the other hand, the contact surfaces 43, 44 of the contact elements 20-4, 20-6 overlap and form another pair.

Between the pairs of contact elements 41, 42; 43, 44, an insulating film 46, 47 is arranged in each case. The two compensation surfaces 41, 42 with the interposed insulating film 46 form a first compensation element, in particular a first capacitor, while the two compensation surfaces 43, 44 with the intermediate film 47 form a second compensation element, in particular a further capacitor. For stabilization, the two compensation surfaces 41, 42 are surrounded by the insulating film 46 lying between them by a first insulating housing 48, while the compensation surfaces 43, 44 are surrounded by the intermediate film 47 by a second insulating housing 49. The insulating housings 48, 49 are preferably sprayed.

The compensation surfaces 41, 42, 43, 44 are arranged in one embodiment in one piece on the contact elements 20-3, 20-5, 20-4, 20-6. This makes it possible in particular to form the contact elements 20 as stamped and bent parts.

The transmission characteristics of electronic components are categorized, with categories 5, 6 and 6A currently being particularly popular. By the compensation surfaces 41, 42, 43, 44, for example, the transmission characteristics of the contact set 10 by one or more categories be increased. In particular, the contact set 10 is designed in such a way that it complies with the category 6A transmission characteristics with the compensation surfaces 41, 42, 43, 44.

The Figures 3 and 4 show the connection socket 50 with the socket housing 52, in which the contact set 10 according to FIG. 1 is used. The connection socket 50 has on a front side a receiving opening 54 into which a plug of a cable to be connected can be inserted. In particular, the plug can be introduced in such a way that contact elements of the plug to be inserted into the connection socket 50 contact the contact elements 20, in particular the third sections 23 of the contact elements 20. The contact set 10 is disposed in the female housing 52 such that the acute angle formed between the insulating body 30 and the third portion 23 opens to a wall 56 opposite the female opening 54. For this purpose, the contact set 10 is inserted from the wall 56 into the socket housing 52 where the contact set 10 is latched by means of the latching elements 34 in the socket housing 52.

Such a connection socket 50 can be used in particular in junction boxes or distribution fields, which are also known as patch panels, patch panels or designated. In these, one or more connection sockets 50 can be arranged on a base circuit board. The base circuit board may comprise at least one connection element and at least one connection element for producing an electrically conductive connection of the first section 21 of one of the contact elements 20 of the contact set 10 with the connection element, wherein a first cable in the connection socket 50 and a second cable, in particular a stationary laid Cable to which connection element can be connected. The base circuit board advantageously has at least one compensation element in order to allow additional compensation of interference effects on the base circuit board.
