Der Schlitten kann dabei von der Schiene teilweisen umgriffen werden, so dass der Schlitten nur in der gewünschten Richtung bewegbar ist und insbesondere ein Herausfallen des Schlittens aus der Schiene vermieden werden kann. Sowohl der Schlitten als auch die Schiene können zur Verbesserung ihrer Gleit- und/oder der Verschleißeigenschaften mit einem Linearpolymer umspritzt sein. Derartige Linearführungen werden insbesondere auch unter der Typbezeichnung DryLin von der igus GmbH angeboten. Weiterhin ist bei der hier dargestellten Ausführungsform als Schnellspannvorrichtung ein Exzenterspanner 300 an die Trägereinheit 7 angeordnet.
