Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for folding sheets according to claim 1 and a pocket folding machine according to the preamble of claim 8.
- Pocket folding machines and Schwertfalzmaschinen are known from the prior art.
- the combination of pocket folding machines with Schwertfalzmaschinen is common as Kombifalzmaschine.
- parallel folds are folded in pocket folders and cross breaks in the subsequent knife folders.
- the sheet passes through at least the following stations in the feed-through direction of the combination folding machine: feeder, transfer table, pocket folder, knife folder, delivery arm.
- a respective pocket folder consists of a folding pocket and three folding rollers, which are arranged in two folding roller pairs.
- the folding rollers themselves are interconnected by means of gears, flat belts or toothed belts and are driven at the same speed via an adjustable main drive. Knife shafts or feed units are also driven by this main drive.
- each folding roller of a pocket folder is associated with its own, independent servomotor, so that the transport speeds of the folding rollers are independently adjustable.
- the DE 10 2008 048 287 A1 discloses a method for shingled printed sheets in a folding machine.
- the folding machine has at least one folding station with at least one folding unit.
- the arcuate elements are fed in a transport direction with its front edge ahead with a Unterschuppung the folding station.
- the Unterschuppung corresponds according to the invention at most the first fold length. In such a method, the performance of the folding station can be significantly increased.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to describe a method for folding sheets and to provide a pocket folding machine, which improve the sheet travel through the folding unit and the disadvantages of the prior art, at least partially remedy.
- the inventive method is used for folding sheets in a Taschenfalzmaschine with at least a first pair of rollers, a downstream in the sheet running direction folding pocket and a downstream in the sheet running direction Falzwalzencru.
- at least one of the rollers of the pair of folding rollers has on its surface a permanently higher peripheral speed than the peripheral speed on the surface of one of the rollers of the first pair of rollers.
- the peripheral speed of the at least one roller of the folding roller pair is greater than the peripheral speed of at least one of the rollers of the first roller pair.
- a special roller is provided with a double function, which is both part of the at least one pair of rollers and part of the pair of folding rollers. So there are provided a total of three rollers, with two rollers together form a pair of rollers and the special roller is associated with both the pair of rollers, which causes the entry of a sheet into the folder pocket, as well as the pair of folding rollers is assigned, which causes the actual fold fracture.
- the peripheral speed of this special roller corresponds at most to Peripheral speed of a further roller of the pair of folding rollers and at least the peripheral speed of the another roller of the first pair of rollers. In other words, the speed of the special roller moves between the lower speed of the one further roller of the first roller pair and the higher peripheral speed of the another roller of the pair of folding roller.
- the at least one first roller pair and the folding roller pair are mechanically decoupled and the rotational speeds of the first roller pair and the folding roller pair are independently adjustable.
- a pocket folding machine with a special roller mill is required, in which the drive of the at least first roller pair and the folding roller pair are decoupled from each other.
- the rotational speeds of the at least one roller of the folding roller pair and the at least one roller of the first roller pair are in a constant relationship to one another.
- the rotational speeds of the rollers can not be set arbitrarily, but rather are interdependent.
- the bowing of a sheet to be folded is determined during folding, i. measured and depending on the result of the determination of the sheet tightening the rotational speeds of at least the first pair of rollers and the Falzwalzencrues be adjusted. This can ensure that a sheet is always held under tension during the folding process and thus a high folding accuracy can be achieved.
- all the rolls of the pocket folding machine have the same diameter and the at least one roll of the folding roll pair is driven at a higher rotational speed.
- all subsequent folding rollers are driven at the higher rotational speed or even greater rotational speed.
- no changes must be made to the folding rollers themselves, since these usually have the same diameter to have.
- an adjustment of the roller drive is required so that the at least one roller of the pair of folding rollers can be driven at a higher rotational speed, the higher speed causing a sheet to be folded to be folded during the folding process.
- At least one of the rolls of the first pair of rolls has a smaller diameter than the rolls of the pair of folding rolls.
- the rollers of the first pair of rollers and the at least one roller of the pair of folding rollers are driven at the same rotational speed. Due to the different diameter of the at least one roller of the first pair of rollers and the rollers of the pair of folding rollers, however, there is a difference in their peripheral speeds. This speed delta of circumferential speeds, in turn, causes a sheet to be folded to become taut during the folding process and to be constantly held under tension.
- the invention also relates to an alternative embodiment variant of a pocket folding machine with at least one first pair of rollers, a first folding pocket arranged downstream in the direction of sheet travel and a pair of folding rollers arranged downstream in the sheet running direction.
- a respective folding unit of the pocket folding machine has a special roller with a double function, which is both part of the at least one pair of rollers and also part of the folding roller pair.
- the Taschenfalzmaschine a drive for driving the rollers, which is associated with at least the first pair of rollers and the Falzwalzencru.
- the special roller is a friction clutch, also referred to as a slip clutch, slip clutch or slip gear, at least indirectly coupled to the drive.
- the special roller can be driven so that its peripheral speed between the peripheral speed of a further roller of the first pair of rollers and the peripheral speed of a further roller of the pair of folding rollers can adapt.
- the special roll acts together with the other roll of the first pair of rolls in order to push a sheet into the folding pocket. Both rollers are pointing the same peripheral speed.
- the special roller acts together with the other roller of the pair of folding rollers and causes the fold break in the folded sheet. In this case, the special roller is driven with the higher peripheral speed of the other roller of the folding roller pair.
- the pocket folding machine has a drive, wherein the drive is assigned to a respective roller of the first roller pair and of the folding roller pair.
- a special roller is provided with a double function, which is both part of the at least one pair of rollers as well as part of the pair of Falzwalzencrues.
- the drive has tape rolls, wherein a respective roll is assigned a respective roll of tape, and the respective roll is connected to the respective roll of tape by means of an overrunning clutch.
- the drive has to drive the tape rolls continue a moving belt, which can also be designed as a belt or belt.
- the diameter of a respective roll of tape is less than the diameter of a - viewed in the sheet running direction - previous tape roll.
- the diameter of the tape rolls decreases.
- this causes the speed of rotation of the rolls of tape - viewed in the sheet running direction - increases. That the at least first roller pair is driven at a lower rotational speed than the subsequent pair of folding rollers.
- a Taschenfalzmaschine which also does not belong to the invention, this has at least a first pair of rollers, a downstream in the sheet running direction first folding pocket and a downstream in the sheet running direction Falzwalzencru.
- the invention viewed in the sheet running direction - between the first pair of rollers and the first folding pocket arranged at least one sheet guiding element, in particular a guide plate or a guide roller, whereby a special roller mill is formed, so that the rotational speeds of the pair of rollers and folding roller pair are independently adjustable.
- this has at least a first drive and a second drive, wherein the first drive the first pair of rollers and the second drive is associated with the pair of folding rollers and the first pair of rollers and the Falzwalzencru are mechanically decoupled from each other.
- the drives may in particular be individually controllable servomotors.
- the pocket folding machines described above all rollers with the same diameter.
- the speed delta of the peripheral speeds of the first pair of rollers and subsequent Falzwalzencru is accomplished by a corresponding design of the roller drive.
- At least one of the rollers of the first pair of rollers has a smaller diameter than the diameter of the rollers of the pair of folding rollers.
- the speed delta of the peripheral speeds of the first pair of rollers and pair of folding rollers is effected here by the diameter differences of the rollers.
- the first pair of rollers is the first pair of rollers of a specific folding unit. If a plurality of folding units are provided in a pocket folding station, the said first pair of rolls can also be arranged, for example, in the second folding unit, so that the pairs of rolls of the preceding folding unit, viewed in the sheet running direction T, are arranged upstream of the first pair of rolls.
- a folding unit of a pocket folding machine 100 is shown, as it is basically known from the prior art.
- the folding unit comprises a first folding roller 1, a second folding roller 1.1 and a third folding roller 2.
- the folding rollers 1 and 1.1 together form a first pair of rollers, which is also referred to as a pair of push rollers.
- This pair of rollers 1, 1.1 pushes a sheet 30 in the folding pocket 6 of the folding unit.
- the folding pocket 6 has a sheet stop 6.1, to which the sheet 30 is transported. The bow is guided by an upper lip 6.2 and a lower lip 6.3.
- an upset fold 30.1 begins to form in the sheet 30, which is pulled in by the rolls 1.1 and 2 and a fold break is produced in the sheet 30, which represents the folded edge in the produced folded product .
- the rollers 1.1 and 2 thus form a folding roller pair, which is also referred to as Switzerlandwalzencru.
- the roller 1.1 thus forms a special roller with a double function, since it is both part of the first roller pair and part of the pair of folding rollers.
- all rollers 1, 1.1, 2 are driven at the same rotational speed.
- all rollers 1, 1.1, 2 have the same diameter.
- this principle is broken and operated the folding unit with a speed delta: the roller 1 has a peripheral speed v1, which is smaller than the peripheral speed v2 of the folding roller 2, ie v1 ⁇ v2.
- the special roller 1.1 is designed so that it can have both the smaller peripheral speed v1 and the larger peripheral speed v2.
- the special roll 1.1 has a peripheral speed v1.
- the peripheral speed v2 is greater than the peripheral speed v1
- the sheet 30 is not pushed as usual through the folding unit, but rather pulled in a streamlined state by the folding unit. Folded products with high quality fold breaks can thereby be produced and, in addition, it is ensured that the sheet 30 swiftly out of the compression area, i. the area between the rollers 1, 1.1 and 2, is transported away, so that it can not come to a collision with a subsequently fed into the folding unit sheet 30.
- Fig. 2 a view of the folding station 103 is shown, which results when the protection of the folding station 103 removed and the drive train of the folding rollers 1, 1.1, 2, 3, 4, 5 is disclosed.
- the folding rollers 1, 1.1, 2, 3, 4, 5 are driven by a flat belt 8.
- the folding station 103 has a gear plate 25 which accommodates belt rollers 26, a deflection roller 27.1 and a drive roller 27.2.
- the drive roller 27.2 can be connected to a first drive 28.1, not shown here, and drives a flat belt 8.
- the tape rolls 26 are looped around by the flat strip 8 and thus driven in rotation.
- the unit is stored in the transmission plate 25.
- the tape roll 26, around which the ribbon 8 is looped, is held in this embodiment by means of an overrunning clutch 9 on a journal, which is flanged with the cross-coupling 24.
- the freewheel clutches 9 cause the folding roller 1 in the intended direction of rotation can also rotate faster than the tape roll 26.
- the tape rollers 26 downstream have a slightly decreasing diameter d3. Since all the belt rollers 26 are driven by the same flat belt 8, it is achieved by the decreasing belt diameter d3 that the rotational speed of the belt rollers 26 increases. Since according to this embodiment, all rolls 1, 1.1, 2, 3, 4, 5 have the same roll diameter d1, d2, the peripheral speed v1, v2 of the folding rolls 1, 1.1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - viewed in the sheet running direction T - to. This advantageously causes a sheet 30 is pulled through the folding units of the folding station 103 therethrough.
- Fig. 4a shows an alternative embodiment of the folding station 103.
- the folding station 103 has an upstream knife shaft pair 7.1, as well as a downstream knife shaft pair 7.2, which serve for the preparation of the sheet 30 for the folding process or the post-processing of the folded signature.
- the folding station 103 further has a plurality of rollers 1, 1.1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and three folding pockets 6. At the first upper Position is no folding pocket 6; instead, a curved switch 6.4 is used here, so that the first fold break is formed in the sheet 30 by the first, lower folding pocket.
- the rollers 1 and 1.1 is used here, so that the first fold break is formed in the sheet 30 by the first, lower folding pocket.
- the rollers 1 and 1.1. of the first roller mill W1 are associated with a first speed range V1 and the rollers 1 and 1.1 have a first peripheral speed v1.
- the rollers 3, 4, 5 are associated with a speed range V2 and the rollers 3, 4, 5 have a second peripheral speed v2.
- the second peripheral speed v2 is greater than the first peripheral speed v1. This ensures that a sheet 30 is pulled through the folding station 103 therethrough.
- the roller 2 is designed as a special roller and assigned to none of the two roller chairs W1, W2. However, the roller 2 is assigned to an intermediate speed range V1-V2.
- the peripheral speed of the roller 2 can assume both the value of the first peripheral speed v1 and the value of the second circumferential speed v2.
- all rolls 1, 1.1, 2, 3, 4, 5 have the same roll diameter d1, d2.
- the speed delta between the first speed range V1 and the second speed range V2 is then achieved by driving the rollers at different rotational speeds, for example by assigning a drive 28.1, 28.2 to each roller train W1, W2, compare FIG. 6 ,
- the rollers have different diameters d1, d2.
- the rolls 1, 1.1 of the first roll strand W1 have a smaller diameter d1
- the rolls 3, 4, 5 of the roll strand 2 and the special roll 2 have a larger roll diameter d2.
- the roll diameter d1 may be about 1% less than the roll diameter d2. It is thereby achieved that in a common drive of all folding rollers 1, 1.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, the rollers 1 and 1.1 have a lower peripheral speed v1 than the peripheral speed v2 of the rollers 2, 3, 4 and 5. This achieves that a sheet 30 is kept constantly in the folding station 103 under a tensile stress.
- Fig. 4b the situation is shown when the sheet 30 has already passed the first two folding pockets 6, thus has undergone two folding breaks and is now in the third folding pocket 6.
- Fig. 4b indicated that the special roller 2 is connected via a friction clutch 12 to the drive train, so that the peripheral speed of the roller 2 can assume both the value of the first peripheral speed v1 and the value of the second peripheral speed v2.
- a friction clutch 12 is in the Fig. 8a and b.
- FIG. 5a an alternative construction of the folding station 103 is shown, in contrast to the FIGS. 4a and 4b where a standard roll chair is used, here a special roll chair is used.
- the folding station 103 has a first roll strand W1 and a second roll strand W2.
- the first roll train W1 is associated with the rollers 1 and 1.1, which rotate at a first peripheral speed v1 and are therefore associated with a first speed range V1.
- the second roller train W2 is associated with the rollers 2, 3, 4 and 5, which form a second speed range V2, since they have peripheral speeds v2, which are greater than the first peripheral speeds v1.
- an intermediate roller 2.Z and a guide element 2.L is arranged between the first roll train W1 and the second roll train W2.
- the intermediate roller 2.Z can assume circumferential speeds between v2 and v1 and is therefore assigned to an intermediate speed range V1-V2. This also ensures that a folded sheet 30 can be quickly pulled into the next folding pocket 6.
- Fig. 5b is a further development of the special roller chair Fig. 5a
- the folding station 103 has only two folding pockets 6, but is further optimized with respect to the speed delta of the circumferential speeds of the rollers.
- the rollers 1 and 1.1 form a first roller train W1, and are associated with a first speed range V1, since they each have peripheral speeds v1.
- a second roller train W2 Separated from this first roller train W1 is a second roller train W2, which is formed by a folding roller 2 and an intermediate roller 2.Z.
- the rollers 2 and 2.Z have a second peripheral speed v2 and are therefore associated with a second speed range V2.
- Mechanically decoupled from the second roll train W2 is a third roll train W3, which is formed by a folding roller 3 and a further intermediate roller 3.Z.
- the intermediate roller 3.Z opposite is arranged a guide element 3.L.
- the rollers 3 and 3.Z both have a third peripheral speed v3 and are therefore assigned to a third speed range V3.
- the division into three roll cords W1, W2, W3 makes it possible for the circumferential speed v1, v2, v3 of the rolls, viewed in the sheet running direction T, to increase and for a sheet 30 to be pulled through the roll cords W1, W2, W3 in a streamlined state ,
- Fig. 5c is a further development of the special roller chair Fig. 5b displayed.
- the guide elements 2.L and 3.L were replaced by guide rollers 2.F and 3.F.
- the special roller chair according to FIG. 5b the rollers 3.Z and 3 have a d2 larger diameter d3 larger.
- the rollers 3, 3.Z, 3.F may have the larger roller diameter d3.
- the speed delta according to the invention is realized by the different roller diameters d1, d2, d3.
- the sheet tightening of a sheet 30 in the folding station 103 can be detected optically.
- changes in the setting 29.1 can be observed to adjust the Falzwalzenspaltes and conclusions are drawn to the bow tightening.
- the adjusting device 29.1 also known by the term Festa adjusting device, is connected via a bearing lever 29.2 with a respective folding roller 1, 1.1, 2, 3, 4, 5. If the conveying forces are too high, the folding rollers tend to so-called "jumping" - at least in the case of a direct gear drive.
- the gears of the folding rollers press through the occurring forces apart and there is a gap between the adjuster 29.1 and the bearing lever 29.2, which can be detected by measurement.
- the measurement result can be used to reduce the speed delta to such an extent that the folding rollers are no longer bound to jump.
- the slip gear 12 can automatically adjust the speed delta.
- roller mill W1 driven at a constant speed v1.
- the other roll mill W2 is driven at an increased speed v2.
- the special roller 2 is driven via a friction clutch 12 at an intermediate speed, depending on whether a sheet 30 is just between the rollers 1.1 and 2 or between the rollers 2 and 3.
- the speed v1, v2, v3 - seen in the sheet travel direction T - is increased downstream.
- the speed v1-v2 automatically adjusts itself.
- the FIG. 7 shows a folding machine 100, as known from the prior art.
- the folding machine 100 has a sheet feeder 101, an alignment table 102 and a processing station 103.
- the sheet feeder 101 causes a separation of sheet 30 from a sheet pile 300, for which a separating sucker 11 (Tremat) at the trailing edge of the stack 300 by blowing air and lifting sucker a sheet 30 is separated from the stack and lifts, which then eg by a suction wheel 10 to the alignment table 102 can be handed over.
- the alignment table 102 has a plurality of guide rails on which a respective sheet 30 rests during its transport in the sheet transport direction T.
- a respective sheet 30 is transported by the conveyor belt 20, which is slightly oblique to the sheet transport direction T, against an alignment ruler 21 and aligned.
- a plurality of hold-down balls 22 are provided.
- An aligned sheet 30 is subsequently transferred to the processing station 103, shown here as the first folding station.
- the folding station 103 has upstream cutter shafts 7.1, first folding rollers 1, 1.1 a first upper folding pocket 6, second folding rollers 2, 3 and a second lower folding pocket 6.
- the folding station 103 is designed as described above, so that a sheet 30 is pulled according to the invention through the folding station.
- a possible embodiment of a friction clutch 12 is shown, wherein a special roller 2 is driven by a gear 50 and thanks to the friction clutch 12 can assume a speed in the intermediate speed range V1-V2.

Description
The invention relates to a method for folding sheets according to
Pocket folding machines and Schwertfalzmaschinen are known from the prior art. The combination of pocket folding machines with Schwertfalzmaschinen is common as Kombifalzmaschine. In this process, parallel folds are folded in pocket folders and cross breaks in the subsequent knife folders. The sheet passes through at least the following stations in the feed-through direction of the combination folding machine: feeder, transfer table, pocket folder, knife folder, delivery arm.

In order to achieve a higher operating speed of the pocket folder without damaging the sheets to be folded, a pair of rollers is first accelerated and then decelerated again.
When folding in Taschenfalzprinzip, also referred to as Stauchfalzprinzip, the sheets are guided over a pair of thrust rollers to an adjustable pocket stop. After reaching this stop the sheet is stopped at his Bogenvorderkannte, while the pair of push rollers transported the sheet on. As a result, the sheet experiences a compressive stress between sheet stop and push roller pair and it comes This leads to a deflection of the sheet just behind the pair of thrust rollers, the formation of an upset.
For upper support, an upper guide strip (upper lip) is located just behind the push roller pair. Behind the pair of thrust rollers a Zugwalzenpaar is arranged. By the deflection of the sheet down the sheet is detected by the draw rollers and the actual folding is performed.
In order to increase the output of folding machines, ie their productivity, the speed of passage of the sheets is usually increased by the folding machine. By increasing the speed, however, a respective folded sheet undergoes deformations and damage, which leads to significant quality losses.

The
In such a method, the performance of the folding station can be significantly increased.
A disadvantage of the Taschenfalzmaschinen described above, that it may cause problems in the formation of compression. If the compression of the tension rollers is not detected quickly enough safely, a collision with a subsequent arc and thus a material jam may occur.
The object of the present invention is therefore to describe a method for folding sheets and to provide a pocket folding machine, which improve the sheet travel through the folding unit and the disadvantages of the prior art, at least partially remedy.
This object is achieved by a method for folding sheets according to
The inventive method is used for folding sheets in a Taschenfalzmaschine with at least a first pair of rollers, a downstream in the sheet running direction folding pocket and a downstream in the sheet running direction Falzwalzenpaar. According to the invention, at least one of the rollers of the pair of folding rollers has on its surface a permanently higher peripheral speed than the peripheral speed on the surface of one of the rollers of the first pair of rollers. In other words, the peripheral speed of the at least one roller of the folding roller pair is greater than the peripheral speed of at least one of the rollers of the first roller pair. This difference in speed, which does not exist in pocket folding machines according to the state of the art, causes the sheet to be transported faster than the folding roller pair, also referred to as a pair of pushing rollers, after the actual formation of the fold by the pair of folding rollers, also referred to as draw roller pair. As a result, the folded sheet is tightened and retracted faster in the Falzwalzenpaar. The folded sheet is thus not pushed through the folding unit of Taschenfalzmaschine, as is common practice, but rather pulled. The signature is under tension from the moment the fold is formed. As a result, the folding process can be improved overall and the quality of the folded products can be increased.
In a particularly advantageous and therefore preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention, a special roller is provided with a double function, which is both part of the at least one pair of rollers and part of the pair of folding rollers. So there are provided a total of three rollers, with two rollers together form a pair of rollers and the special roller is associated with both the pair of rollers, which causes the entry of a sheet into the folder pocket, as well as the pair of folding rollers is assigned, which causes the actual fold fracture. According to the invention, the peripheral speed of this special roller corresponds at most to Peripheral speed of a further roller of the pair of folding rollers and at least the peripheral speed of the another roller of the first pair of rollers. In other words, the speed of the special roller moves between the lower speed of the one further roller of the first roller pair and the higher peripheral speed of the another roller of the pair of folding roller.
In a first embodiment variant, the at least one first roller pair and the folding roller pair are mechanically decoupled and the rotational speeds of the first roller pair and the folding roller pair are independently adjustable. To carry out this process, a pocket folding machine with a special roller mill is required, in which the drive of the at least first roller pair and the folding roller pair are decoupled from each other.
In an alternative development of the method according to the invention, the rotational speeds of the at least one roller of the folding roller pair and the at least one roller of the first roller pair are in a constant relationship to one another. In other words, the rotational speeds of the rollers can not be set arbitrarily, but rather are interdependent. In a development of the method according to the invention, the bowing of a sheet to be folded is determined during folding, i. measured and depending on the result of the determination of the sheet tightening the rotational speeds of at least the first pair of rollers and the Falzwalzenpaares be adjusted. This can ensure that a sheet is always held under tension during the folding process and thus a high folding accuracy can be achieved.
In a first embodiment of the method according to the invention, all the rolls of the pocket folding machine have the same diameter and the at least one roll of the folding roll pair is driven at a higher rotational speed. In particular, all subsequent folding rollers are driven at the higher rotational speed or even greater rotational speed. To carry out this process, no changes must be made to the folding rollers themselves, since these usually have the same diameter to have. However, an adjustment of the roller drive is required so that the at least one roller of the pair of folding rollers can be driven at a higher rotational speed, the higher speed causing a sheet to be folded to be folded during the folding process.
In an alternative embodiment variant of the method according to the invention, at least one of the rolls of the first pair of rolls has a smaller diameter than the rolls of the pair of folding rolls. The rollers of the first pair of rollers and the at least one roller of the pair of folding rollers are driven at the same rotational speed.
The invention also relates to an alternative embodiment variant of a pocket folding machine with at least one first pair of rollers, a first folding pocket arranged downstream in the direction of sheet travel and a pair of folding rollers arranged downstream in the sheet running direction. According to the invention, a respective folding unit of the pocket folding machine has a special roller with a double function, which is both part of the at least one pair of rollers and also part of the folding roller pair. Furthermore, the Taschenfalzmaschine a drive for driving the rollers, which is associated with at least the first pair of rollers and the Falzwalzenpaar. Advantageously, the special roller is a friction clutch, also referred to as a slip clutch, slip clutch or slip gear, at least indirectly coupled to the drive. This ensures that the special roller can be driven so that its peripheral speed between the peripheral speed of a further roller of the first pair of rollers and the peripheral speed of a further roller of the pair of folding rollers can adapt. During the feeding of a sheet into the folding pocket, the special roll acts together with the other roll of the first pair of rolls in order to push a sheet into the folding pocket. Both rollers are pointing the same peripheral speed. Once the formation of compression takes place in the sheet and the compression between the folding rollers is pulled, the special roller acts together with the other roller of the pair of folding rollers and causes the fold break in the folded sheet. In this case, the special roller is driven with the higher peripheral speed of the other roller of the folding roller pair.
Also conceivable is a Taschenfalzmaschine, which does not belong to the invention, with at least one first pair of rollers, a downstream in the sheet running direction folding pocket and a downstream in the sheet running direction Falzwalzenpaar. According to the invention, the pocket folding machine has a drive, wherein the drive is assigned to a respective roller of the first roller pair and of the folding roller pair. In a respective folding unit of Taschenfalzmaschine a special roller is provided with a double function, which is both part of the at least one pair of rollers as well as part of the pair of Falzwalzenpaares. The drive has tape rolls, wherein a respective roll is assigned a respective roll of tape, and the respective roll is connected to the respective roll of tape by means of an overrunning clutch. The drive has to drive the tape rolls continue a moving belt, which can also be designed as a belt or belt. Advantageously, the diameter of a respective roll of tape is less than the diameter of a - viewed in the sheet running direction - previous tape roll. In other words, viewed in the sheet running direction, the diameter of the tape rolls decreases. In turn, this causes the speed of rotation of the rolls of tape - viewed in the sheet running direction - increases. That the at least first roller pair is driven at a lower rotational speed than the subsequent pair of folding rollers. By this inventive design of the drive of the rollers so a speed delta of the rollers is generated, which ensures that a folded sheet is constantly held under tension and consequently high quality folding breaks can be generated.
In an alternative further embodiment of a Taschenfalzmaschine, which also does not belong to the invention, this has at least a first pair of rollers, a downstream in the sheet running direction first folding pocket and a downstream in the sheet running direction Falzwalzenpaar. According to the invention - viewed in the sheet running direction - between the first pair of rollers and the first folding pocket arranged at least one sheet guiding element, in particular a guide plate or a guide roller, whereby a special roller mill is formed, so that the rotational speeds of the pair of rollers and folding roller pair are independently adjustable.
In an advantageous embodiment of this variant of Taschenfalzmaschine this has at least a first drive and a second drive, wherein the first drive the first pair of rollers and the second drive is associated with the pair of folding rollers and the first pair of rollers and the Falzwalzenpaar are mechanically decoupled from each other. The drives may in particular be individually controllable servomotors.
In a first embodiment variant, the pocket folding machines described above all rollers with the same diameter. In these Taschenfalzmaschinen the speed delta of the peripheral speeds of the first pair of rollers and subsequent Falzwalzenpaar is accomplished by a corresponding design of the roller drive.
In a second embodiment of the pocket folding machines described above, at least one of the rollers of the first pair of rollers has a smaller diameter than the diameter of the rollers of the pair of folding rollers. The speed delta of the peripheral speeds of the first pair of rollers and pair of folding rollers is effected here by the diameter differences of the rollers.
With regard to the term "first pair of rollers", the following should be noted: The first pair of rollers is the first pair of rollers of a specific folding unit. If a plurality of folding units are provided in a pocket folding station, the said first pair of rolls can also be arranged, for example, in the second folding unit, so that the pairs of rolls of the preceding folding unit, viewed in the sheet running direction T, are arranged upstream of the first pair of rolls.
The described invention and the described advantageous developments of the invention are also in any combination with each other advantageous developments of the invention.

This pair of

In an alternative embodiment, the rollers have different diameters d1, d2. Thus, the

In order to determine the required speed delta required for a good arch tightening, the sheet tightening of a

friction clutch 12 has ashaft 43 which is connected to thefolding roller 2. The rotational movement of thegear 50 is transmitted via aslide ring 45 to a drivingring 46 and through its nose on theshaft 43, so that thefolding roller 2 performs a rotational movement. The drive causes - if there is no slip in the friction clutch 12 - a rotation with the predetermined speed by thegear 50 v1. The friction clutch 12 further has acompression spring 48, which is held by abush 47, adisc 49 and anut 41, and which presses the 45, 46 as force transmission elements against the end face of thediscs gear 50. The clamping force of thecompression spring 48 is adjusted so that the friction clutch 12 then slips and no driving force is transmitted when thefolding roller 2 thanks to the pressing of a between thefolding roller 2 and a subsequent, with higher speed v2 rotatingfolding roller 3 transportedsignature 30 also with the higher speed v2 is rotated. By thefriction clutch 12, which can also be referred to as a slip clutch, it is thus ensured that thefolding roller 2 can assume speeds between v1 and v2.
