Definitions
- the present invention relates to a vehicle drive according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a vehicle with a parallel hybrid drive is known.
- a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine is connected via a torsional vibration damper and a clutch to the rotor of an electric machine.
- the rotor of the electric machine in turn is coupled to an input shaft of a transmission.
- a separate starter device is provided for starting the internal combustion engine.
- the starter device may be a starter, which is coupled via a belt drive to the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine or to a pinion starter.
- a starting of the internal combustion engine via the electric machine is expressly not provided in DE 10 2007 037 758 A1, as this would be very complicated in terms of control technology, as it is called in DE 10 2007 037 758 A1.
- DE 10 2007 061 895 A1 also describes a hybrid drive in which. Starting the internal combustion engine a separate "electric machine” is provided, which is coupled via a belt drive with the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine.A further such hybrid drive is described in DE 10 2008 027 658 A1 and JP 2001336466 A.
- Modern vehicles are increasingly being equipped with a so-called "engine start / stop system.”
- This is a complicated electronic control system that "automatically" controls the internal combustion engine as a function of a large number of parameters under certain conditions.
- An engine start / stop system shuts down the engine in stop-and-go traffic, for example, when the vehicle is temporarily stopped, as soon as the driver gives a "start-up signal” , z. B. in a vehicle equipped with manual transmission clutch occurs, the engine start / stop automatic restarts the engine again.
- the internal combustion engine is thus shut down and restarted much more frequently than with conventional vehicles.
- a start system must meet very different requirements than z. B. at a cold start of the engine at a very low temperature level (winter).
- the object of the invention is to provide a vehicle drive, which has a starting device for starting the internal combustion engine, which is tuned optimally to the prevailing conditions at different conditions.
- the starting point of the invention is a vehicle drive, with an internal combustion engine and a first, provided for starting the engine starting system (first starting device).
- the core of the invention is that for starting the internal combustion engine, in addition to the first starting system, a second starting system (second starting device) which can be activated independently of this or is provided independently of this is provided, wherein neither the first nor the second start system for generating vehicle propulsion is provided.
- Vehicle propulsion is a) Produced exclusively by the internal combustion engine, if the vehicle is a conventional vehicle (non-hybrid vehicle), or
- the two starting systems can be designed for different starting conditions.
- the one start system may be designed for cold or low-temperature starts of the internal combustion engine.
- the second starting system if the vehicle is equipped with an engine start / stop system, can be used to start the (warm) internal combustion engine after a brief engine stop initiated by the engine start / stop system.
- Both start systems can be designed to a certain extent redundant. This means that in the event of failure of one of the two starting systems, the other starting system can take over the relevant function at least until a workshop has been visited.
- the invention is suitable for conventional vehicles, which are equipped exclusively with an internal combustion engine as a drive motor.
- the invention can also be used in hybrid vehicles, in particular in vehicles with a parallel hybrid drive, in which in addition to the internal combustion engine, a propulsion-producing electric machine is provided, wherein the vehicle is either purely internal combustion engine, purely electric motor and / or combined, ie internal combustion engine and electric motor driven.
- one of the two starting systems may be a pinion starter.
- Pinion starters are particularly suitable for cold starts of the internal combustion engine.
- the other starting system may, for example, be a starter generator which is coupled via a belt drive to the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine and which is primarily for starting the internal combustion engine in the engine start / stop mode, i. H. is suitable for starting after only a temporary shutdown of the internal combustion engine by an engine start / stop device.
- the second starting system eg starter generator in the belt drive
- the second starting system can also be used to start the internal combustion engine during purely electric driving.
- a vehicle propulsion-producing electric machine In a hybrid vehicle, i. H. In a vehicle in which, in addition to the internal combustion engine, a vehicle propulsion-producing electric machine is also provided, it can in principle also be used as a "third starting system" for starting the internal combustion engine (for example, if the two starting systems have failed).
- Which of the two or three starting systems provided in the vehicle in a specific driving or vehicle state is optimally suitable for starting the internal combustion engine is determined by means of a start system selection strategy (support manager) implemented in a vehicle electronics system.
- This "service manager” selects the currently most suitable start system and coordinates the individual start systems. If an error is detected in one of the existing starting systems, it may be provided that the engine start / stop automatic or the service manager no longer considers the defective starting system during further operation and uses the remaining starting system or the two remaining starting systems for starting the internal combustion engine, thereby ensuring that the driver can continue driving in an "emergency mode".
