Claims (12)
- A system for cutting masks for protecting a portion of a vehicle, which includes:- a machine (MAC) for cutting masks in a sheet material, the machine including a movable tool for cutting the sheet material;- a data processing unit (PRO) connected to the cutting machine and arranged to control the relative displacement of the cutting tool and the sheet material;- a database (BDM) of mask contours, which is associated to the data processing unit;- a display unit (AFF) and a data input unit (INT) coupled to the data processing unit (PRO);the system being characterized in that it further includes:- a second database (BDR) containing, for several vehicles, several representations of each vehicle from several distinct angles of view, this second database being associated to the data processing unit;- a unit (CAF) for controlling the display unit which is coupled - in particular integrated - to the data processing unit and which is arranged, in particular programmed, to:• extract from the second database the representations (REP1 to REP5) from several angles of view of a vehicle, as a function of at least one vehicle selection datum input into the data processing unit (PRO) via the data input unit (INT);• modify the representations from several distinct angles of the selected vehicle, as a function of at least one mask selection datum input into the data processing unit via the data input unit; and• control the display, substantially simultaneous display, on the display unit (AFF), of the modified representations of the selected vehicle.
- The system according to claim 1 wherein the display unit and the data input unit are made in the form of a touch screen (ETA) connected to the data processing unit.
- The system according to claim 1 or 2 wherein the interface (IN1) of the touch screen and/or the data processing unit (PRO) is programmed to determine, when detecting a pressure or a contact on a portion of the display unit corresponding to a portion of one of the displayed representations, a mask adapted to hide the vehicle portion corresponding to this displayed representation portion.
- The system according to claim 1 or 2 wherein the interface (IN1) of the touch screen and/or the data processing unit (PRQ) is programmed to add or on the contrary to remove from a list (LIS) of masks to be cut, when detecting a pressure or a contact on a portion of the display unit corresponding to a portion of one of the displayed representations, that one amongst the masks which is adapted to hide the vehicle portion corresponding to this displayed representation portion, and to change the appearance of this displayed representation portion as well as, where appropriate, the appearance of the portions of the other simultaneously displayed representations that correspond to the mask thus selected or deselected.
- The system according to any one of claims 1 to 4 wherein the simultaneously displayed vehicle representations are at distinct scales, a main representation (REP5) being displayed on a first scale, and several secondary representations (REP1 to REP4) being displayed at a second scale lower than the first scale.
- The system according to claim 5 wherein the data input unit and the control unit of the display unit are programmed to replace, when detecting a pressure or a contact exerted on a portion of the display unit in which is displayed one of the secondary representations (REP1 to REP4), the main representation by the secondary representation thus selected and increase the scale thereof.
- The system according to any one of claims 1 to 6 wherein the second database (BDR) includes, for each representation of each vehicle, a mapping of the different parts (p1 to p11) of the bodywork and of the glazed portions of the vehicle, each representation preferably including a contour inside which several areas or regions respectively corresponding to distinct parts of the vehicle are separated by lines or boundaries, to each area or region of the representation being associated a mask of the first database which is designed to hide that area or region, or an index pointing towards that mask.
- A method for controlling a machine for cutting masks for protecting a portion of a vehicle, characterized in that it includes the following operations of:- displaying on a display unit (AFF) the trademarks, models, and versions of vehicles for each of which the protective mask contours of several bodywork parts are registered in a database (BDM);- detecting a selection datum of one of the vehicles and displaying on the display unit (AFF) several distinct representations (REP1 to REP5) of the vehicle corresponding to the vehicle selection datum, each representation including regions corresponding to protective masks registered in the database (BDM);- detecting a mask selection datum and modifying the appearance of at least one region of the displayed representations according to this mask selection datum;- detecting a mask selection validation datum and save the lastly selected masks in a list (LIS) of masks to be cut; and- for each mask of the list of masks to be cut, send cutting control data or signals of the considered mask to a mask cutting machine (MAC).
- The control method according to claim 8 wherein the appearance of several regions of at least one of the displayed representations is modified as a function of a unique selection datum from a group of masks for a selected vehicle.
- The control method according to claim 8 or 9 wherein the representations (REP1 to REP5) from several angles of view of a vehicle are extracted from a database (BDR), and wherein the data extracted from the database are decrypted.
- A system or control method according to any one of claims 1 to 10, which is arranged to melt, where appropriate, several adjacent part protection masks, and to transmit to the machine (MAC) vehicle identification data in order to cause their inscription on the concerned masks when these are cut.
- A data carrier which includes instructions readable and executable by a computer to implement a control method according to any one of claims 8 to 11.
