Description
BESCHICHTEN VON KUNSTSTOFFBAUTEILEN MITTELS KINETISCHEN KALTGAS- SPRITZENS COATING OF PLASTIC COMPONENTS BY MEANS OF KINETIC COLD GAS SPRAYING
HINTERGRUND DER ERFINDUNG BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
GEBIET DER ERFINDUNG FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for coating a plastic surface, wherein at least one partial layer of the coating is applied by means of kinetic cold gas spraying, and a correspondingly coated plastic component.
STAND DER TECHNIK STATE OF THE ART
The kinetic cold gas spraying has been used for some time in various areas for the deposition of layers on components. In kinetic cold gas spraying, solid particles are accelerated at high speed onto the component to be coated or its surface, where the particles adhere to form a layer. The kinetic cold gas spraying is characterized by the fact that the process temperatures are chosen so that the particles of the coating material neither melt nor melt. In contrast to thermal spraying processes, such as, for example, arc spraying or flame spraying, in which the powder to be sprayed is melted by an arc or by the burnt fuel gas, non-molten solid particles encounter the surface to be coated during the kinetic cold gas spraying. The formation of the layer and the adhesion of the layer on the base material are in this case effected by a corresponding plastic deformation of the coating particles and in the region of the interface between the layer to be produced and the base material and the base material. As a result, the materials flow into one another, which leads to a positive connection. In addition, by converting the high kinetic energy into deformation energy, corresponding heat energy can also be generated, which can lead to welding of the particles.
While this works well for a variety of material pairings, ie a corresponding pair of the base material and the coating material, components made of certain materials can not be provided with corresponding layers by cold gas spraying if the above-described adhesion mechanisms are not or only insufficiently adequate. ben are. This has hitherto led to a limited application of cold gas spraying, although cold gas spraying is advantageous with regard to certain aspects, such as low temperature load, targeted coating, low overspray, etc. In particular, it is problematic to provide plastics and in particular fiber-reinforced plastics with corresponding layers by cold gas spraying.
Although it is described in DE 10 2005 047 688 B3 that microencapsulated agglomerates of nanoparticles for forming a coating for protection against UV radiation by kinetic cold gas spraying can be applied to a plastic body in the manufacture of a lamp cap for motor vehicle headlights, but this is not true for wear-resistant layers, which are formed of high-strength materials, in particular hard-material particles, which are to be deposited, for example, on fiber-reinforced plastics, since damage to the fiber-reinforced plastic can occur here during the cold gas spraying of the layer.
Although it is described in DE 10 037212 A1 that fiber-reinforced plastics with a wear-resistant coating of exothermic materials and in particular zinc, zinc alloys, aluminum alloys, nickel aluminum or molybdenum can be formed, but obviously the process temperature is chosen so high here in the cold gas spraying that predominantly adhesion processes in accordance with thermal spraying apply.
OFFENBARUNG DER ERFINDUNG DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
AUFGABE DER ERFINDUNG OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
Insbesondere soll dieOn the other hand, however, a method for coating a plastic surface is to be provided, in which a layer of a high-strength, hard wear-resistant material can be applied by means of kinetic cold gas spraying. In particular, should
Layer are deposited at a temperature at which the particles applied by means of kinetic cold gas spraying particles at least partially do not melt or melt. Nevertheless, a good adhesion of the layer to the plastic surface should be achieved and damage to the plastic material should be avoided. The procedure should be simple and efficient be feasible. In addition, the object of the present invention is to provide a corresponding component.
This object is achieved by a method having the features of claim 1 and a plastic component having the features of claim 9. Advantageous embodiments are the subject of the appended claims. Contrary to the procedure in the prior art, as described in DE 10 037 2131 A1, where the corresponding layer is applied directly by kinetic cold gas spraying on the plastic surface and contrary to the procedure of DE 10 2005 047 688 B3, in which the composition the layer applied by means of kinetic cold spray spraying in the boundary region between plastic surface and layer is modified accordingly, the present invention proposes another solution in that an intermediate layer between the plastic base material and the cold gas-sprayed functional layer is provided as the base layer, which with a different coating method as the kinetic cold gas spraying is deposited. The base layer in this case produces both a good adhesion to the plastic base material and also allows a corresponding deposition of a subsequent layer by kinetic cold gas spraying. Accordingly, the composition of the base layer is chosen so that upon impact of the particles in the kinetic cold gas spraying a corresponding flow into each other and / or welding of the materials is possible with each other. In addition, the base layer ensures that the underlying plastic surface does not damage the plastic surface due to the mechanical stress caused by the kinetic cold gas injection.
This can be used in particular for pairs of materials that otherwise could not be used together in a corresponding manner. As a pair of materials in this case, for example, plastics may be mentioned which are sensitive to impact or impact, as they occur due to incident particles during kinetic cold gas spraying. In particular, the plastic surface can be formed by a fiber-reinforced plastic, while the functional layer can be a high-strength, wear-resistant layer, which can in particular include corresponding hard material particles with high hardness and strength, such as diamond-like materials, nitrides, carbides or oxides. The base layer may in particular be a metallic layer of a substantially pure metal or metal mixture or a metal alloy, which provides the corresponding ductility.
The base layer can be applied to the plastic by a wide variety of coating methods, such as, for example, by means of electrodeposition, physical vapor phase deposition, sputtering or chemical vapor deposition. In particular, methods can be selected which require similar to the kinetic cold gas spraying and only a low temperature load of the substrate.
The base layer can be applied in a thickness that reliably avoids damage to the plastic surface in the subsequent deposition of the cold gas-sprayed functional layer.

1 shows a schematic representation of an arrangement for coating a plastic component 1 according to the present invention. The arrangement comprises a plastic component 1, which has a base layer 2, on which a functional layer 3 is applied by means of kinetic cold gas spraying. For this purpose, a cold gas spraying device 4 with a nozzle arrangement, for example a Laval nozzle 5, is provided, in which process gas is supplied at high pressure via a process gas feed 6, so that powder particles which are conveyed via the powder particles. Kelzufuhrung 7 are supplied, leave the nozzle 5 at high speed and hit the surface of the base layer 2 of the plastic component 1. Characteristic of the kinetic cold gas spraying is that the powder particles 9 are not melted or melted and thus the process temperature can be selected below the melting temperature of the sprayed material.
Upon impact of the particles 9 on the surface of the base layer 2 of the plastic component 1, these and the base layer 2 or already deposited particles are deformed and the materials of the base layer 2 and the particles 9 form by the strong, in particular mutual deformation with possibly mutual welding a compact and well-adherent functional layer 3 on the plastic component 1 from. In the further layer construction of the functional layer 3, there is a mutual deformation of the deposited particles and possibly mutual welding, so that a dense and well adhering functional layer 3 is formed on the plastic component 1.
FIG. 2 shows a finished component 1 with the coating with the partial layers 2, 3, wherein the partial layer 2 represents the base layer 2 and the partial layer 3 represents the actual functional layer.
The base layer 2 is a partial layer which has been deposited on the plastic component 1 in order to allow a subsequent coating by means of kinetic cold gas spraying. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the base layer 2 is a metallic base layer which is formed from a single metal or a metal alloy. The base layer 2 can be applied by a wide variety of coating methods. The coating method and / or the material of the base layer 2 are chosen so that when the base layer 2 is applied to the surface of the plastic component 1 no damage occurs to the plastic surface or the plastic base material. Thus, other coating methods than kinetic cold gas spraying, such as galvanic deposition, physical vapor deposition see, sputtering, chemical vapor deposition or the like can be used, with which a gentle coating of the plastic surface of the plastic component 1 is possible. In the embodiment shown, for example, the plastic component may be formed by a fiber-reinforced plastic, which is sensitive to the impact stress by impact of particles in the kinetic Kaltgasspriten. Accordingly, for example, by sputtering a metallic base layer can be deposited in a sufficient thickness, which takes over the protection of the plastic surface in a subsequent coating process with kinetic cold gas spraying as a ductile intermediate layer on the one hand and on the other by a corresponding deformation and merging of the materials a secure adhesion of the cold gas-sprayed functional layer 3 allows. In particular, in this way the functional layer can be formed as a wear protection layer or erosion protection layer or the like, in which hard particles impinge on the surface of the base layer 2 of the plastic component 1 at high speed. Accordingly, a high-strength or hard functional layer 3, in particular with embedded Hartstofrpartikeln, such as diamond or diamond-like materials, cubic crystalline boron nitride, silicon carbide, alumina, boron carbide, tungsten carbide, titanium carbide, titanium nitride or zirconium dioxide or generally with corresponding carbides, nitrides and Oxyden be deposited by means of kinetic cold gas spraying, whereby the kinetic cold gas spraying a low thermal load of the plastic component is made possible and a targeted coating with a focused spray jet and a low overspray, ie correspondingly lower Abdeckaufwand diirchgefuhrt can.
