Common structure for producing protection units having n phases and neutral, containing a differential stage (1) fitted with a mechanical tripping mechanism for opening the neutral and n circuit breakers (2) protecting individual circuits for each phase and connected down-circuit of the differential stage (1), the said structure having input terminals linked to the differential stage and (n+1) output terminals, each circuit breaker (2) having its own thermal-magnetic tripping mechanism, notably a mechanical tripping mechanism associated with a magnetic actuator and a thermal actuator, some linking components (4, 5, 6) being provided to connect the mechanical tripping mechanism of the differential stage (1) and the mechanisms of the circuit breakers (2), each link component (4, 5, 6) connecting either the tripping mechanism and at least one mechanism of an adjacent circuit breaker (2), or the mechanisms of the two adjacent circuit breakers, characterized in that it is transformable into three separate protection units (A, B, C):
    - a differential circuit breaker (B) having n phases and neutral, the linking components (5) between the mechanical tripping mechanism of the differential stage (1) and the mechanism of the circuit breakers (2) being connected in order to provoke the simultaneous tripping of n circuit breakers (2) when one circuit breaker (2) is tripped or the differential stage (1) is tripped;
    - a protection unit with n phases and neutral (A) whose tripping mechanisms operate independently on each phase, the linking components (4) being provided only for passing on the tripping movement of the mechanical tripping mechanism in the differential stage (1) to the circuit breaker (2) mechanisms; and
    - a phase-neutral protection unit (C), a common polarity component (7) putting the inputs of the n circuit breakers (2) at the potential of the single phase being added at the output of the differential stage (1) at the protection unit with n phases and neutral (A) or at the differential circuit breaker (B) with n phases and neutral.
  2. Common structure for producing protection units according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the mechanical tripping mechanism of the differential stage (1) is a relay.
  3. Common structure for producing protection units according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that an additional component holds together the circuit breakers levers (2) of the differential circuit breaker (B) with n phases and neutral.
  4. Common structure for producing protection units according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the linking component of the protection unit with n phases and neutral (A) is a lever or a cam of which one of the ends or surfaces is displaced, during the tripping of the mechanical tripping mechanism of the differential stage (1), according to a trajectory enabling it to come into contact with the mechanism of each circuit breaker (2) in order to release it, each lever or cam having a means of attachment to at least one identical lever or cam of an adjacent circuit breaker (2), and a means of connection/attachment to the mechanical tripping mechanism of the differential stage (1) allowing the latter to pass on a movement when it trips.
  5. Common structure for producing protection units according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the means of attachment to at least one identical lever or at least one identical cam of an adjacent circuit breaker (2) and the means of connection/attachment to the mechanical tripping mechanism of the differential stage (1) are identical.
  6. Common structure for producing protection units according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the said levers may rotate, articulated at one of their ends in the vicinity of the circuit breaker (2) control lever, the other end having a contact area with circuit breaker (2) mechanism.
  7. Common structure for producing protection units according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that n=3, and the supply (A, B) of the units is three phase and neutral.
