Definitions
- the invention relates to the field of snow sliding sports, and more particularly to downhill skiing. It aims a new construction of a device for mounting the elements of a fixation on a ski.
- the safety fasteners comprise two main elements, namely a stop and a heel, which are mounted on the ski, not directly on the upper face of the latter, but on an intermediate device.
- This type of intermediate device allows in particular to facilitate the installation and especially the adjustment of the position of each of the elements of the binding, to adjust to the length of the shoe of the user which is particularly useful for rental skis.
- Such a device consists essentially of a rigid beam, which rests on the upper face of the ski, directly or preferably via a base adapted to provide a damping capacity.
- the beam has lateral slides on which can slide two mobile teams to carry the stop and the heel of the binding.
- the beam is fixed to the ski through different mounting points located at least at the end of the beam.
- the beam also comprises notched pads disposed vertically above the two moving crews, and cooperating with these to ensure a positioning corresponding to the desired spacing between abutment and heel.
- the beam of such a device is a relatively complex body, insofar as it must first be firmly attached to the board, and therefore have very rigid mounting points, which occupy a significant area of the beam, thus requiring that the latter is relatively long.
- the side rails of this beam are areas where the mechanical stresses are concentrated which can be important in the context of certain movements where the user exerts high intensity vertical forces. Induced deformations can also interfere with ski driving and system performance.
- An object of the invention is therefore to be able to both lighten the interface device, or at least give it superior mechanical properties, equivalent mass.
- Another objective is to reduce the deformation of the rail, which can cause certain roll movements detrimental to the driving of the system.
- An objective complementary is to improve the pull-out resistance of both mobile crews.
- this device is characterized in that the wafer has at least one lateral protrusion, which extends laterally towards the rail by covering the slide in all or part.
- the plate which provides the longitudinal adjustment of the moving crews extends laterally to strengthen the rail of the beam slide.
- the pull-out resistance of the moving equipments is improved by the presence inside the rail of a portion of the wafer, which view from above has its lateral edge beyond the position where the movable crew rail enters the slide. In particular, the deformation of the rail, and thus the roll of the fixing element are reduced.
- these lateral excrescences can extend up to the plumb of the rail, so that they reinforce the latter parallel to it to the widest point of the slide.
- the reinforcement imparted by the characteristic wafer may be sufficient if these protrusions do not extend to the edge of the rail, but stop at an intermediate level between the bottom of the slide and the rail edge, top view.
- the wafer being made of a more rigid material, and therefore generally heavier, than the rest of the beam.
- the growths of the wafer may occupy longitudinally only a fraction of the length of the latter.
- the growths are present only at a certain level of the wafer, and in a number and length sufficient to provide the desired stiffening.
- the growths may occupy between 30% and 70% of the length of the wafer, with satisfactory results in terms of reinforcing the slide. A compromise can be found between the length and width of these growths.
- the wafer may have on each side at least two protuberances, which are in a variant, located near the front and rear ends of the wafer.
- an additional protrusion located substantially at the median longitudinal level of the wafer, so as to form an additional point of stiffening.
- the number of excrescences can be adapted according to the length of the beam and the possible excursion of the moving equipment, so that the stiffening of the slide is similar, whatever the position of the mobile crew.
- by increasing the number of excrescences it is possible to minimize the amplitude of the roll movements around a transverse axis.
- the device may also comprise the fastening screws which pass through both the plate and the beam, and which therefore allow to secure the device to the board using points located vertically above the wafer, and not contrary to the prior art at the front end and / or rear of the beam.
- a metal plate or at least a particularly rigid material, allows the solid mounting of both the beam and platelets.
- the mounting screws may be implanted at least in part in the lateral protrusions of the wafer.
- the characteristic growths allow to mount the intermediate device with points that are as far apart in width as possible, which gives a better resistance to tearing of the assembly.
- this device 1 comprises a base 2 intended to come into contact with the upper face of the ski.
- This base 2 is surmounted by the beam 3 with respect to which will slide the two movable crews 4, 5 which will receive the stop and the heel of the binding.
- the two mobile teams 4 and 5 have been shown separated from the beam 3 on which they are able to slide in normal configuration.
- the beam 3 has a length that allows it to accommodate both the crew who will wear the stop, and the one who will receive the heel.
- the beam 3 is made in two parts 10, 11 which are assembled by a central slide system 12.
- the invention also covers variants in which the beam is made in one part, or even in two parts. , with independent portions each dedicated to one of the mobile crews.
- This beam 3 is preferably made from a polymer material, advantageously loaded, for example glass fibers.
- the beam 3 comprises two housings 20, 21 for receiving notched plates 30, 23 for adjusting the longitudinal position of the moving crews.
- This plate can be made in a material such as steel, aluminum or carbon, or a polymeric material heavily loaded with fibers.
- the housing 21 located at the front receives a traditional wafer 23 not directly related to the invention.
- the rear plate 30 is inserted in a housing 20 provided for this purpose on the upper face of the beam, visible at the figure 3 .
- This housing 20 extends symmetrically with respect to the median longitudinal plane of the beam. It defines laterally three dimentions 24, 26, 28 of the sliding rail 25 of the moving equipment. These zones 24, 26, 28 of smaller thickness of the rail are separated by two zones 29, 27 where the thickness of the rail is made only by the material constituting the main part of the beam.
- the housing 20 has in the central portion a recessed portion 40, allowing the passage of the locking members of the adjustment mechanism in the longitudinal position carried by the moving assembly 5.
- this recess is in view of the opening 31 formed at the central level of the wafer 30, and laterally bordered adjustment notches 32 for receiving a detent element integral with the movable element, to ensure its longitudinal positioning.
- the housing 20 also has openings 41-44 located at the four corners of the housing, and allowing the passage of the mounting screws of the wafer on the beam, which can advantageously allow at the same time the mounting of the device 1 on the board.
- the wafer 30 thus has three lateral protuberances 33, 34, 35 located at the end and at the median level.
- the protuberances 33, 35 located at the ends of the plate 30 comprise an edge sized to lie directly above the portion 51 of the slide formed by the material of the beam, as illustrated in FIGS. figures 6 and 7 .
- sufficient stiffening can be achieved with growths that are interrupted before the lateral edge of the slide, for example by being set back by 1 to 2 millimeters.
- the precise shape of the lateral ends of the excrescences at this level can be chosen to avoid as much as possible the direct contact between the metal of the wafer 30 and the slide 60 of the moving element 5, which is made of plastic, in order to limit the risk of blockage by frost.
- the deformations 39 of substantially conical shape formed in the wafer at the level of the excrescences contribute to stiffen them, and thus to also strengthen the slide on which slide the moving crews.
- the plate 30 also has protrusions 34 of substantially trapezoidal shape, with the small base oriented on the outer side.
- the precise shape of the protuberance 34 located at the median level is chosen to limit the friction directly with the complementary slide of the moving element.
- This protrusion 34 has a central recess 39 for lightening, and this without significantly lowering its mechanical strength.
- the plate 30 has notches 45, 46 at these front and rear ends, between the lateral protrusions 33, 35, so as not to increase the weight of the mounting device by areas that do not confer additional stiffening at the sliding slide of mobile crews.
- the plate 30 is inserted in the housing 20 provided in the beam, and the slide of the beam is in this area then formed by the material 52 of the beam itself.
- the characteristic protrusions 33 are superimposed on a portion 51 of the beam itself to form the slide of the moving equipment.
- the protrusions 34 of the wafer 30 rest on the portions 53 of the beam 30, so as to form the slide which receives the mobile team 5.
- the device according to the invention has the advantage of reducing the deformations of the beam, and therefore of minimizing the roll movements of the fastening elements both around a transverse and longitudinal axis. It also makes it possible to increase the resistance to tearing, and without significant increase in the weight of the assembly.

Description
The invention relates to the field of snow sliding sports, and more particularly to downhill skiing. It aims a new construction of a device for mounting the elements of a fixation on a ski.
In general, the safety fasteners comprise two main elements, namely a stop and a heel, which are mounted on the ski, not directly on the upper face of the latter, but on an intermediate device.
The use of this type of intermediate device allows in particular to facilitate the installation and especially the adjustment of the position of each of the elements of the binding, to adjust to the length of the shoe of the user which is particularly useful for rental skis.
Such a device consists essentially of a rigid beam, which rests on the upper face of the ski, directly or preferably via a base adapted to provide a damping capacity. The beam has lateral slides on which can slide two mobile teams to carry the stop and the heel of the binding.
The beam is fixed to the ski through different mounting points located at least at the end of the beam. The beam also comprises notched pads disposed vertically above the two moving crews, and cooperating with these to ensure a positioning corresponding to the desired spacing between abutment and heel.
Although giving overall satisfaction, the device described in this document has some disadvantages.
Indeed, the beam of such a device is a relatively complex body, insofar as it must first be firmly attached to the board, and therefore have very rigid mounting points, which occupy a significant area of the beam, thus requiring that the latter is relatively long.
Moreover, the side rails of this beam are areas where the mechanical stresses are concentrated which can be important in the context of certain movements where the user exerts high intensity vertical forces. Induced deformations can also interfere with ski driving and system performance.
It is therefore necessary to dimension these slides in a consistent manner, since they ensure the maintenance of the crews that carry the elements of the binding. The increase in thickness of the rail of the slide inevitably leads to an increase in the mass of the interface device, which is undesirable.
An object of the invention is therefore to be able to both lighten the interface device, or at least give it superior mechanical properties, equivalent mass.
Another objective is to reduce the deformation of the rail, which can cause certain roll movements detrimental to the driving of the system. An objective complementary is to improve the pull-out resistance of both mobile crews.
- ■ une poutre présentant de chaque côté un rail définissant une glissière longitudinale pour un équipage mobile réglable en position longitudinale, cet équipage portant la butée ou la talonnière ;
- ■ a beam having on each side a rail defining a longitudinal slide for a longitudinally adjustable movable member, the crew wearing the stop or heel;
- A wafer, mounted on said beam, and having a zone having adjustment means arranged to cooperate with the movable element, so as to allow adjustment of the latter in longitudinal position.
According to the invention, this device is characterized in that the wafer has at least one lateral protrusion, which extends laterally towards the rail by covering the slide in all or part.
In other words, the plate which provides the longitudinal adjustment of the moving crews extends laterally to strengthen the rail of the beam slide. In other words, the pull-out resistance of the moving equipments is improved by the presence inside the rail of a portion of the wafer, which view from above has its lateral edge beyond the position where the movable crew rail enters the slide. In particular, the deformation of the rail, and thus the roll of the fixing element are reduced.
In practice, these lateral excrescences can extend up to the plumb of the rail, so that they reinforce the latter parallel to it to the widest point of the slide. However, the reinforcement imparted by the characteristic wafer may be sufficient if these protrusions do not extend to the edge of the rail, but stop at an intermediate level between the bottom of the slide and the rail edge, top view.
Similarly, different geometry variants can be adopted to avoid unduly burdening the overall device, the wafer being made of a more rigid material, and therefore generally heavier, than the rest of the beam. Thus, the growths of the wafer may occupy longitudinally only a fraction of the length of the latter.
In other words, the growths are present only at a certain level of the wafer, and in a number and length sufficient to provide the desired stiffening.
In practice, the growths may occupy between 30% and 70% of the length of the wafer, with satisfactory results in terms of reinforcing the slide. A compromise can be found between the length and width of these growths.
From a practical point of view, the wafer may have on each side at least two protuberances, which are in a variant, located near the front and rear ends of the wafer.
Depending on the length of the beam, it is also possible to provide an additional protrusion located substantially at the median longitudinal level of the wafer, so as to form an additional point of stiffening. Of course, the number of excrescences can be adapted according to the length of the beam and the possible excursion of the moving equipment, so that the stiffening of the slide is similar, whatever the position of the mobile crew. Moreover, by increasing the number of excrescences, it is possible to minimize the amplitude of the roll movements around a transverse axis.
Advantageously in practice, the device may also comprise the fastening screws which pass through both the plate and the beam, and which therefore allow to secure the device to the board using points located vertically above the wafer, and not contrary to the prior art at the front end and / or rear of the beam.
The use of a metal plate, or at least a particularly rigid material, allows the solid mounting of both the beam and platelets.
In a preferred form, the mounting screws may be implanted at least in part in the lateral protrusions of the wafer. In other words, the characteristic growths allow to mount the intermediate device with points that are as far apart in width as possible, which gives a better resistance to tearing of the assembly.

It also makes it possible to increase the resistance to tearing, and without significant increase in the weight of the assembly.
