Description

Technisches GebietTechnical area

The invention relates to a sitting or reclining furniture, the seat surface of which is formed by the tops of a plurality of rod-shaped elements, the elements being arranged as a unit of contacting, upright elements held together by the outer elements of the unit , And wherein all elements, or wherein the majority of the elements, are supported with their undersides on a flat, elastic pad.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

Out WO 00/16664 is a seating or reclining furniture of the type mentioned is known. Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

The invention is based on the object to create a piece of furniture or reclining furniture, which is a good sitting or lying comfort with an individually adaptable seat or couch surface of individual elements offers and yet can be produced with a low production cost.

This object is achieved in a chair or lounge furniture of the type mentioned above in that the rod-shaped elements are formed of wood and that the elastic pad is formed by a foam.

Characterized in that the contacting elements form a unit held together by the outer elements of the unit, eliminates the costly guide provided by the prior art of each element in a separate holder. This makes the structure of the inventive furniture very easy. The suspension of the elements of the unit on a common elastic base also causes the simple production, so that the furniture thus manages without separate individual springs for each element. All elements are supported on the elastic base. At most, some elements may still be provided with a separate elastic support, if desired; in any case, the majority of the elements are based on the common ground. The pad is designed so that it elastically deforms under load and resets itself when the load is removed. It is made of foam. The elements are made of wood.

The outer elements are preferably externally urged by a frame to hold the unit together. In another embodiment, the outer elements are hollow and are plugged with their cavities on fixed in the furniture vertical supports, so that the unit is held together. It can also be combined both versions, so that the outer elements are arranged both on vertical supports and are acted upon from the outside by a frame.

The elements may contact one another along their entire length or may be formed so that the contact occurs only along part of their length. This can be provided so that the elements in the upper area (the area at the seat) and in the lower area (the area at the elastic pad) touch and in an intermediate area no contact takes place by the elements have a smaller extent there. Whether the touch occurs as a substantially linear contact only or as a substantially full-surface touch depends on the shape of the elements. These can be seen polygonal in cross-section, in particular square or rectangular or triangular, or round, in particular circular, or may have a free shape. The elements may be solid or at least partially hollow, being closed at the top to form the sitting or lying surface.

The elements are closed or open at their base on the base. They can rest loosely on the base or be attached to this. As a fastening, in particular a form-locking connection with pins or can be provided a bond.

The pad may be in one or more layers in a horizontal extent (or parallel to the floor on which the furniture stands), wherein horizontally lying layers of different hardness and / or thickness may be provided. The uppermost layer of the backing, on which the lower surfaces of the elements rest, may also be a thin, flexible release layer, eg, a woven or knitted fabric, which prevents injury to the elastic backing by the undersides of the elements. Seen in plan view, the pad may form a continuous surface or the pad may be formed of a plurality of sections, which together form the pad together lying side by side. The underlay is all Elements in common or is common to a majority of the elements. This also results in a simple production, since the elements do not need to be provided with individual springs.

The frame may be a separate frame arranged in the furniture or may be part of another piece of furniture, e.g. an outer shell of the furniture or part of a furniture frame that fulfills additional functions in the furniture in addition to holding the elements to the unit. In a preferred embodiment, the outer shell of the furniture is also the frame for the elements. This solution is particularly preferred in a designed as a stool furniture or chair or chair-like furniture with backrest and possibly armrests.

FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of the furniture or stool 1, which stands on a floor 20. The furniture has a seat surface 2, which is formed by the tops 8 of a plurality of elements 6, which also in FIG. 2 in plan view of the seat 2 can be seen. Not all elements 6 or upper sides 8 are provided with a reference numeral in the figures, in order to maintain the clarity of the figure. FIG. 3 shows a vertical section through the furniture, which passes through elements 6 therethrough. It can be seen that the elements 6 are limited in this embodiment by the frame 5, wherein the elements 6 are summarized by this frame 5 to a unit or together. The frame acts directly on the outer elements 6 of the unit formed from the elements. As adjacent elements touch, the entire unit is thereby stabilized or held together by the frame 5, so that the elements receive the upright position in the furniture.

In an alternative or combined embodiment fixed vertical supports 15 may be provided in the furniture, on which the hollow outer elements 6 of the unit are seated. This is in FIG. 4 shown with the two only indicated as a line supports 15, on which the elements 6 sit with their cavities 16. This guidance by the supports 15, which are provided for each of the outer elements of the unit, allows the up and down movement in the vertical direction of the outer elements and also stabilizes them in their position in the furniture so that the outer elements 6 of the unit hold them together can. The supports and the cavities are dimensioned for a possible play-free holding the outer elements on the supports. In the illustrated embodiment, the Supports 15 firmly fixed to an intermediate floor 10 of the furniture.

The contact of the elements with each other can take place substantially along their entire length, as in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 is apparent. On the other hand, the elements could also be designed so that they only partially touch each other at rest. This example, in an upper region of the seat surface 2, in particular in the region lying above the frame 5, and in a lower region in which rest their lower sides 7 on the elastic pad 4. The contact in the upper and in the lower region provides sufficient stability for the unit of the elements 6. The contact of the elements 6 can be made substantially flat, as is the case for the square in cross-section elements 6 of this embodiment. This cross-sectional shape is particularly in the plan view of FIG. 2 clearly visible. This is one of many possible cross-sectional shapes of the elements 6. The elements can also be rectangular in the horizontal cross-section or have a different polygonal shape. The elements may also be round in cross-sectional shape, in particular circular, or be freely shaped. In such cases, there may also be a substantially linear contact of the elements with one another. It is only to provide that the elements have such a cross-sectional shape that they can be summarized by the frame 5 and their contact with each other to an ordered unit, which forms a seat surface 2 of the furniture with the surfaces 8 of the elements. In this case, the surfaces 8 of the individual elements need not be horizontal, as shown, but may also have depressions. It can also be arranged by appropriate shaping of the surfaces 8 of several adjacent elements 6 extending over several elements depression or increase in the seat.

The individual elements 6 are formed of wood. The elements 6 may be solid or formed as hollow elements, as shown in FIG FIG. 3 is apparent. In any case, the elements have a largely closed surface 8, which together form the seat 2. However, it is also possible to provide in each surface 8 or in some of the surfaces 8 a recess, so that no completely closed seat 2 is formed. This can be pleasant as aeration for the seating comfort. The bottom 7 of the elements, which rests on the base 4, may also be closed or may be open, as shown in FIG FIG. 3 is shown.

The pad 4, on which rest the elements 6, is a flat elastic pad, which can deform resiliently under load. Preferably, the pad 4 is common to all elements 6, as shown in the embodiment shown. The elastic deformation of the pad is in FIG. 4 in which it is shown how a seated person elastically deforms the underlay 4 by means of the rigid elements 6, so that an adaptation of the sitting surface 2 to the seated person results from the load exerted on the elastic underlay. If the person rises from the seat, then the elastic pad is back and it is back to the basic position of FIG. 3 ingested. The elastic pad 4 is formed by a foam material. Such materials are known to the skilled person in various embodiments and need not be explained in detail here. A preferred material for the illustrated use in a stool is, for example, a polyurethane foam type 65140. The thickness and hardness of the elastic pad can be adapted to the particular purpose of the furniture. The pad 4 may be integral as shown. It can have the same properties (thickness, hardness) or different below the entire seating surface 2 Properties. The pad can be constructed horizontally from different layers, as indicated by the broken line a. This is intended to indicate in the figure that the base 4 can be formed by two horizontally superimposed flat parts, which each extend over the entire seat surface. These parts can be attached to each other or loosely rest on each other. It can also be provided more than two layers. The different layers may consist of the same material or may consist of different materials. The different layers may have different hardnesses. In addition, a thin, flexible, but resistant to penetration resistant release layer can be placed on top of the elastic pad 4, in particular a woven or knitted fabric which protects the pad 4 on its upper side against damage by penetration of the lower surfaces 7 of the elements 6. This release layer is flexible to the deformation according to FIG. 4 not to hinder as much as possible.

The base 4 can also be divided into at least two different sections as viewed from above or divided vertically as seen from the side, which is indicated by the vertical broken lines b, which show a subdivision into three sections. The pad 4 is thus not formed in one piece over the entire seat surface, but composed of several, juxtaposed sections. The individual pieces may in turn have horizontal layers, as has already been indicated by the broken line a. Together, however, the parts or the layers and the sections form an elastic pad 4 for all elements 6 or at least for the majority of the elements 6. In the example shown, the pad 4 rests on an intermediate floor 10 of the furniture. This is a preferred embodiment. The intermediate floor 10 can fix in the furniture be arranged or can be arranged at most height adjustable in the furniture to adjust the height of the seat can.

The frame 5, which bounds the unit of the elements 6, may be a separate part of the furniture, which is fixed in this in any way. In this case, the frame 5 may be blinded, so that it is not visible from the outside. The frame 5 may be formed of wood or of metal or of another material. Also material combinations are of course possible. In the example of Figures 1-5 forms the frame 5 at the same time a part of the outer shell 11 of the furniture 1 and is thus visible from the outside. The frame 5 may in particular be integral with the outer shell, which in this case consists of the same material as the frame 5. The shell 11 may in particular consist of solid wood or consist of solid wood with a partial excavation. The shell may also be formed of metal or as a wooden frame with a mesh of natural or synthetic materials. Likewise, a shell made of metal or wooden frames covered with fabric, leather or plastic. Likewise, the shell 11 could be made of metal of any kind or made of plastics. Another possibility is that the shell 11 is formed of glass. The shell 11 can stand directly on the floor 20, so that there is a stationary furniture or a non-mobile stool. However, it can also be a furniture or a stool with rollers provided, as indicated in the figures, these rollers can be visible or blinded. The stool could also be rotatable about a central foot. Likewise, the stool may have a height adjustment which is independent of the explained with the intermediate bottom 10 height adjustment of the seat and the entire stool including the seat adjusted in height. The furniture shown can also be provided with a backrest, so that a piece of furniture in Form of a chair results and it can also be provided armrests, so that there is a chair-like furniture.

Likewise, the lying areas of any reclining furniture can be formed in the manner explained with the elements 6. The entire bed surface can be formed by a single unit of elements 6 or it can possibly be formed a lying surface, which is formed by a plurality of units. In this case, the lying surface is interrupted where the frames 5 of the adjacent units adjoin one another.

FIG. 5 shows an embodiment similar to the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 4 , The same reference numerals designate therein the same parts of the furniture. However, here are the elements 6 by pin 9 positively connected to the elastic pad 4 and not only loosely placed on this, as in Figures 1 to 4. Instead of the positive connection can also be a bond.

In a seating or reclining furniture thus the sitting or lying surface is formed by the tops of a plurality of rod-shaped elements. These touch each other and are held together by a frame that acts on the outer elements of the unit. With their undersides the elements rest on an elastic base. This creates a cost-producible furniture whose seat adapts individually. In use, a pillow or other support can be placed on the seat.
