Definitions
- the invention is in the field of further processing of products, in particular flat and flexible products, and in particular of printed products, and relates to an apparatus and a method for shingling a scale formation of products, in particular folded flat and flexible products.
- the present invention is the gravity-assisted depositing of products on a removal surface, which is normally flat and extends substantially horizontally. Such a transfer takes place, for example, when a shingled stream of products is to be relocated to a differently configured shingled stream.
- An example of this is the output unit of a folding device, eg according to US 7,458,926 : An incoming scale flow of products folded into one another is initially separated by acceleration in the folding and conveying direction. The products are guided. The isolated products are then stored under gravity from above on a Weghold Technology a belt conveyor. In this case, an outflowing scale formation is formed from products lying on one another.
- EP 0900757 describes a device for braking and shingled display of signatures, in which folded products that come individually from a folder, guided in a conveyor along a sheet and thereby braked. When passing through the conveyor, the products remain isolated. At the output of the conveyor, they are initially stored isolated on a conveyor belt. This is followed by a cascade of conveyor belts operating at decreasing conveyor speeds, ultimately creating a shingled output stream. A circumferential eccentric cam at the output of the conveyor is used to improve the scaled arrangement.
- the invention is therefore the object of developing known storage devices so that the disadvantages described are avoided.
- the products should be reliably positioned on the removal area even at high conveying speeds.
- folding devices in particular a reconfiguration of a scale flow (shingling) should be possible.
- the device according to the invention comprises a conveying device which has an inlet and an outlet as well as guiding and conveying elements for guided conveying of the products in a conveying direction.
- the guiding and conveying elements are arranged between input and output;
- the products are at least partially unguided and are moved on because of their inertia, but without active further promotion.
- the guiding and conveying elements therefore define a trajectory in which the products continue to move unguided after leaving the exit.
- trajectory is understood to mean that surface or that spatial region which the products pass through or cover in their unguided movement.
- the trajectory is therefore normally a curved surface when conveying direction is in the product plane when leaving the conveyor.
- the conveying direction is chosen so that the products at the outlet of the conveyor have a component of movement in the horizontal direction. This serves to ensure that the products have the horizontal distance to the conveyor that is in Conveying direction connects to the conveyor, unguided and can overcome without active further promotion.
- the conveying direction is therefore substantially horizontal and extends, for example, at an acute angle to the horizontal.
- the removal surface is normally located vertically below the exit of the conveyor, so that the products can overcome the horizontal distance despite the influence of gravity and do not hit the removal conveyor prematurely.
- At least one acceleration element which is movable along an orbit, is arranged at the exit of the conveyor.
- the orbit which may be closed or linear (up-down), is partially above and partially below the trajectory.
- the acceleration element thus crosses the free (undisturbed) trajectory.
- the acceleration element can act on the product flow, preferably periodically or specifically to individual products.
- the accelerator is configured to give a product a vertical momentum upon exiting the exit. In other words, the accelerator applies a force with a vertical component to the product. The force is exerted only in one moment (as a short blow) or over a longer period of time (with accompanying accelerating element). The contact between the product and the accelerating element may be punctiform.
- the acceleration element is realized for example by an eccentrically rotating about an axis cam.
- the purpose of the accelerator element is to determine the spatial orientation of the product in free flight, i. after leaving the exit and before hitting the removal surface, to correct so that the product, preferably with horizontal orientation, impinges on the removal surface. If the conveying direction is directed horizontally or obliquely downwards during the guided conveyance, the acceleration element preferably gives the product a blow in the region between the product center and the trailing edge. Due to the inherent rigidity of the product and the air resistance, this rotates about a horizontal axis, causing the position correction in flight.
- the acceleration element is intended to act specifically on the product
- the products are preferably supplied clocked or subjected to a cycle during the guided promotion.
- the accelerator is moved under control of the same tact.
- a drive of the acceleration element coupled to the external clock For example, a common control device is present.
- the inventive device is used for shuffling.
- the products are supplied in an incoming scale formation and stored again in a different configuration.
- a shingled formation is formed, in which the folded edges of the products are aligned in the conveying direction and successive products are arranged one inside the other.
- This incoming formation is fed to the device.
- the acceleration element acts now at or immediately after release on the respective foremost product of this formation and pushes it down. It is thereby pushed out of the trailing product ("knocked off”) and separated from it.
- the products that have been separated from one another in this way by movement substantially perpendicular to the product plane and thereby temporarily separated are deposited to form an expiring imbricated formation, which consists of products lying on top of each other.
- the products can also be transported individually. Since the clock is maintained, a clocked further processing, e.g. a transfer into gripper, possible without a clock between them must be switched.
- the conveyor preferably has at least one further acceleration element, which is arranged in the region of the input of the conveyor and can accelerate the products in the conveying direction.
- the further acceleration element can likewise circulate along an orbit and access the products in a timed manner.
- the enlargement of the scale spacing may also occur immediately upon entry into the conveyor take place by this forces a conveying speed, which is increased compared to the conveying speed in the upstream component.
- Fig. 1 schematically shows the principle of operation of the invention.
- a conveyor 312 receives products 10, which are preferably flat and flexible, at an input 330 by suitable guide and conveying elements 334, here two opposite to rollers 335 circulating belt 314 on.
- the guiding and conveying elements 334 define a conveying surface 313, which runs horizontally here, and a conveying direction F2.
- the products 10 leave the conveyor 312 at the exit 332 and then move in a curved trajectory 336 (ballistic curve). Their shape is determined by the conveying direction F2, the conveying speed and the shape and weight of the products 10.
- the guiding and conveying elements 334 at least indirectly define the trajectory 336.
- Below the trajectory 336 is a removal conveyor 320 with a horizontal conveying surface 322 here.
- the conveying direction F3 is perpendicular to the conveying direction F2, here perpendicular to the plane of the drawing.
- an acceleration element 316 At the exit 332 of the conveyor 312 is an acceleration element 316, which is moved along a circular path U here.
- the web U intersects the trajectory 336 of the products 10.
- the acceleration element 316 acts in flight on the region of the trailing edge 11 of the products 10 and gives this one pulse down. As a result, the product 10 is aligned approximately horizontally in flight and lands in this position on the removal surface 322.
- Fig. 2a + b show schematically the separation of products from an imbricated formation S, which consists of nested products 10, with a device according to the invention.
- the folded edges 12 are oriented in the conveying direction F2.
- the leading edges of the products 10 are each in the leading product.
- the acceleration element 316 acts on the overlap region in the vicinity of the trailing edge (FIG. Fig. 2a ). A force approximately perpendicular to the product level is exercised.
- the foremost product 10 is thereby pushed down and away from the trailing product.
- the isolated products can be conveyed individually or in a flak formation from stacked products.
- Fig. 3 shows in perspective an output unit 300 of a folding device with an inventive depositing device 310 and a connected conveyor 63.
- the storage device 310 includes a conveyor 312 for further conveying the products 10 in a conveying direction F2, here under a small angle to horizontal runs.
- the conveyor 312 includes oppositely driven belts 314, between which a conveying gap tapering at the inlet 330 is formed with a conveyor plane 313 running obliquely downwards.
- an acceleration element 315 is arranged at the inlet 330 of the conveyor 312, which rotates about an axis A1 extending transversely to the conveying direction F2, acts in a timed manner on the product flow and accelerates individual products 10 in the conveying direction F2.
- the products 10 are preferably fed clocked. To drive the acceleration element 315 also the initially imposed clock is used.
- the conveyor 312 moves the products 10 at a faster rate than the upstream processing component (here the folder 200, see FIG Fig. 4 ).
- the input side acceleration element 315 serves to bring the products 10 to this speed before they enter the narrowed part of the conveying gap. This is assisted by rollers mounted eccentrically on the axis A1, which interact with the upper belts 314 and clock the belts pressed downwards or spring back upwards.
- the conveying gap is narrowed or extended in time, so that the products can preferably be taken over exactly to the product.
- the inventive acceleration element 316 is arranged, which also rotates about an axis extending transversely to the conveying direction F2 axis A2.
- the radially outermost surface 316a interacts with the products. This surface 316a describes a cylindrical orbit W during rotation.
- the output-side acceleration element 316 is eccentric and preferably has the following shape:
- the surface 316a is convex and has the shape of a section of a cylinder jacket. It is at a constant radius with respect to the axis A2. In the direction of rotation, a concave area with a reduced radius follows. The distance of the outer surface of the acceleration element 316 therefore decreases abruptly. This cavity prevents the leading edge of the subsequent product from being deflected downwards. This can therefore move along the uninfluenced trajectory and push over the depressed product down.
- the removal conveyor 320 here comprises a belt conveyor on whose conveyor belt 323 the products 10 are deposited.
- the products 10 are unguided: they leave the storage device 310 and continue to fly in their original direction of movement F2 along a ballistic curve until they come to lie on the conveyor belt 323.
- each product 10 is given a specific impulse by the acceleration element 316, by means of which the product position for depositing is improved. Since the direction of movement F2 at the exit from the accelerator 310 is directed obliquely downwards to the horizontal conveyor belt 323, the acceleration element 316 acts here on the trailing edges 11 of the products 10 and gives them a pulse in the vertical direction.
- the product 10 makes a slight rotation in the air about a horizontal axis and is approximately horizontally aligned at or until it hits the conveyor belt 323.
- the positioning on the conveyor belt 323 is facilitated by guide elements in the form of brush strips 324 arranged obliquely in the conveying direction F2 and conical rollers 325 arranged laterally on the conveyor belt 323.
- the conical rollers 325 lie on the conveyor belt 323 and are driven by the conveyor belt 323 with.
- a tapered conveying gap is formed in which the products 10 are clamped and deflected in Wegjanrichtug.
- the brush strips 324 limit the trajectory upwards and slow down the products.
- the accelerator element 316 may also serve to singulate a flake formation after leaving the conveyor 312. This is used when the incoming scale formation has not previously been separated. The separation of such a formation has already been described with reference to Fig. 2a + b described.
- a longitudinal conveyor in which the Wegrécardi F3 substantially coincides with the conveying direction F2.
- the folded edges 12 would be oriented in this case in the removal direction F3.
- Fig. 4 schematically shows a possible application of the inventive storage device 310 within a folding machine.
- the folding system comprises as main components an input conveyor 100, a folding unit 200 and an output unit 300. These main components are traversed by products to be folded 10 in a conveying direction F1, which is approximately horizontal here.
- the input conveyor 100 comprises a seen in the conveying direction F1 Conveying device 110, a uniformization device 120, alignment devices 130, 170, a station for pregroove 140, a stitching station 150 and supply stations 160 for other products.
- the folding unit 200 comprises a Aufrichteech 210, a transfer unit 220, a pressing unit 230 and a transfer device 240.
- the output unit 300 includes the storage device 310 and a removal conveyor 320th
- the input conveyor 100 to be folded products 10 in the conveying direction F1 as a scale formation S1 or individually (not shown here) supplied, preferably directly from the printing press or from a memory for products.
- the conveying device 110 of the input conveyor 100 here a conveyor belt 113 with a horizontal conveying surface 112, picks up products 10 and conveys them further.
- the products 10 are accelerated to the speed v1 of the conveyor belt 113 by an acceleration element 101, which is arranged at the entrance of the input conveyor 100, in relation to the original scale formation S1. This leads to an enlargement of the scale distance d.
- the equalization device 120 comprises a plurality of alignment elements 122 arranged in two parallel rows, which are moved along a closed circulation path U, which runs partially in the conveying surface 112.
- the alignment elements 122 protrude upward beyond the conveying surface 112.
- the directions of movement of the alignment elements 122 and the conveyor belt 113 are the same, wherein the speed v2 of the alignment elements 122 is slightly greater than the speed v1 of the conveyor belt 113.
- An imbricated formation S2 is formed in which the scale spacing with respect to the incoming formation S1 can be changed. Irregularities in the incoming formation S1 can be compensated. If individual products 10 are to be folded, for example, only every second alignment element 122 is covered with a product 10. This can be done, for example, by adjusting the Delivery speed in the feed or by removing each second alignment element 122 can be realized.
- the clock is detected by a sensor 127.
- Corresponding control signals are forwarded to a control device 400.
- the control device 400 can act by appropriate control signals to further processing stations (dashed lines), so that they process the products in the initially imposed clock.
- the products 10 are directed by the aligning device 130 during clocking in the uniformizing device 120.
- the judging can additionally or alternatively also be carried out subsequent to this, e.g. at the exit of the entry conveyor (alignment device 170).
- the products 10 are to be folded centrally in the longitudinal direction, ie in the conveying direction F1. It comprises at least one roller 142 with a specific circumferential profile and a corresponding counter element 144.
- the sheets of the products 10 in the region of the fold 12 to be produced with at least one To provide kink.
- the products 10, however, continue to be transported horizontally.
- the prerill station 140 acts continuously on the product stream S2.
- a stitching station 150 is provided, with which the products 10 can be stapled in the area of the future fold 12.
- the stitching station 150 works with the initially imposed clock.
- the stations 160 for feeding additional products 20 are also optional. They serve to place additional products 20 on the products 10 before folding. The products 10, 20 are then folded together. The hang up can be done individually. Alternatively, the other products 20 can be stored as a scale flow on the scale flow S2 or supplied from below.
- the folding unit 200 includes for conveying the products 10, a further conveyor 202, here also with a circumferentially driven belt 204.
- the Aufrichteech 210 comprises two side of the belt arranged flat guide elements 212, which lie at the entrance of the folding unit in the conveying plane and here in the further Bend up the course, run in a V-shape towards each other and thus form a former.
- the guide members 212 may also bend down. They serve to bend the product halves 10a, 10b of a product 10 on both sides of the fold 12 to be produced towards one another.
- Between the two guide elements 212 a plurality of pressure rollers 214 are arranged. These press the products 10 in the region of the fold 12 to be produced against the belt 204.
- the pressure rollers 214 have a specific profile for preparing the seam 12, eg as in FIG DE-C 28 42 226 described.
- the bent (prefolded) product 10 is now conveyed in a transfer unit 220 with vertical alignment of the two halves of the product, that is, standing, controlled on.
- the transfer unit 220 has two belt pairs 221 running over rollers, which define a vertical conveying plane 222. The roles are spring-mounted, so that a conveying gap with variable width is formed.
- the products 10 are transferred to the pressing unit 230.
- the pressing unit 230 comprises a first press roller pair 231 with a downwardly conically tapering shape of its lateral surfaces. It serves to press the product halves in the area above the fold edge 12 to be produced against each other.
- An adjoining second press roller pair 232 with a cylindrical shape presses the product halves in the region of the folded edge 12 against each other and thus fixes them.
- the press roller pairs 231, 232 are sprung against each other and can therefore accommodate different thickness products 10 between them. Due to the initial uniformity, however, irregularities in the feed can not lead to a jam, so that folding in the scale flow is possible.
- the folded products 10 are further conveyed by a transfer device 240 and brought back into a horizontal position from the standing position.
- the folded formation S3 is therefore rotated by about 90 ° and placed laterally. If a shingled stream has been folded, the products 10 in the formation S3 are folded into one another and are thus transferred to the output unit 300.
- the device 310 in particular the drive for the acceleration elements 315 and 316, also uses the clock initially produced by the unit 100. These components are therefore coupled to each other in terms of control, for example mechanically and / or electronically. Corresponding control signals are transmitted within the entire system (shown in dashed lines).

Abstract
Description
The invention is in the field of further processing of products, in particular flat and flexible products, and in particular of printed products, and relates to an apparatus and a method for shingling a scale formation of products, in particular folded flat and flexible products.
Longitudinal folding devices produce a scale formation of products in which the folding edges of the products are aligned in the conveying direction and successive products are arranged one inside the other. Such flak formations often can not be further processed without rearrangement, since the mutually folded flake formation, in which the products are arranged on one another in an onion-like manner, makes access to individual products more difficult. In the prior art, it has hitherto been assumed that a rearrangement of such a nested formation into an imbricated formation in which the products rest on one another (shingles) as an essential intermediate step necessitates a separation of the products. This requires additional acceleration sections, which makes the entire system complex and expensive and requires a large amount of space.
The invention is therefore the object of developing known storage devices so that the disadvantages described are avoided. In particular, the products should be reliably positioned on the removal area even at high conveying speeds. In conjunction with folding devices in particular a reconfiguration of a scale flow (shingling) should be possible.
The object is achieved by a method having the features of claim 1 and by an apparatus for carrying out the method having the features of claim 9. Advantageous developments emerge from the dependent claims, the description and the drawings.
The device according to the invention comprises a conveying device which has an inlet and an outlet as well as guiding and conveying elements for guided conveying of the products in a conveying direction. The guiding and conveying elements are arranged between input and output; In the further course, the products are at least partially unguided and are moved on because of their inertia, but without active further promotion. The guiding and conveying elements therefore define a trajectory in which the products continue to move unguided after leaving the exit. In the present case, trajectory is understood to mean that surface or that spatial region which the products pass through or cover in their unguided movement. The trajectory is therefore normally a curved surface when conveying direction is in the product plane when leaving the conveyor.
The conveying direction is chosen so that the products at the outlet of the conveyor have a component of movement in the horizontal direction. This serves to ensure that the products have the horizontal distance to the conveyor that is in Conveying direction connects to the conveyor, unguided and can overcome without active further promotion. The conveying direction is therefore substantially horizontal and extends, for example, at an acute angle to the horizontal. The removal surface is normally located vertically below the exit of the conveyor, so that the products can overcome the horizontal distance despite the influence of gravity and do not hit the removal conveyor prematurely.
According to the invention, at least one acceleration element, which is movable along an orbit, is arranged at the exit of the conveyor. The orbit, which may be closed or linear (up-down), is partially above and partially below the trajectory. The acceleration element thus crosses the free (undisturbed) trajectory. As a result, the acceleration element can act on the product flow, preferably periodically or specifically to individual products. The accelerator is configured to give a product a vertical momentum upon exiting the exit. In other words, the accelerator applies a force with a vertical component to the product. The force is exerted only in one moment (as a short blow) or over a longer period of time (with accompanying accelerating element). The contact between the product and the accelerating element may be punctiform. Preferably, however, it is linear or flat, in particular along a transverse to the conveying direction line, so that it does not come to rotations about an axis parallel to the conveying direction axis. The acceleration element is realized for example by an eccentrically rotating about an axis cam.
Das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren umfasst folgende Schritte:
- geführtes Fördern der Produkte in einer einlaufenden Schuppenformation, in der die Falzkanten der Produkte in Förderrichtung ausgerichtet sind und aufeinander folgende Produkte ineinander angeordnet sind, wobei die Förderrichtung im Wesentlichen horizontal ist,;
- Freigeben der Produkte und Weiterbewegen der Produkte ohne aktive Förderung bis zum zum Auftreffen auf der Wegförderfläche;
- guided conveyance of the products in an incoming scale formation, in which the folding edges of the products are aligned in the conveying direction and successive products are arranged one inside the other, wherein the conveying direction is substantially horizontal ,;
- Releasing the products and moving the products without active promotion to the impact on the removal area;
- Acting from above on the respective foremost product by a movable acceleration element at or immediately after the release of the products, wherein the respective foremost product, a pulse is given in the vertical direction and thereby it is separated from the trailing product (10).
The purpose of the accelerator element is to determine the spatial orientation of the product in free flight, i. after leaving the exit and before hitting the removal surface, to correct so that the product, preferably with horizontal orientation, impinges on the removal surface.
Since the acceleration element is intended to act specifically on the product, the products are preferably supplied clocked or subjected to a cycle during the guided promotion. The accelerator is moved under control of the same tact. For this purpose, preferably a drive of the acceleration element coupled to the external clock. For example, a common control device is present.
The inventive device is used for shuffling. The products are supplied in an incoming scale formation and stored again in a different configuration. When folding products in the shingled stream, for example, a shingled formation is formed, in which the folded edges of the products are aligned in the conveying direction and successive products are arranged one inside the other. This incoming formation is fed to the device. The acceleration element acts now at or immediately after release on the respective foremost product of this formation and pushes it down. It is thereby pushed out of the trailing product ("knocked off") and separated from it. On the conveyance surface, the products that have been separated from one another in this way by movement substantially perpendicular to the product plane and thereby temporarily separated, are deposited to form an expiring imbricated formation, which consists of products lying on top of each other. Depending on the removal speed, the products can also be transported individually. Since the clock is maintained, a clocked further processing, e.g. a transfer into gripper, possible without a clock between them must be switched.
Depending on the nature of the product, it may be necessary to increase the distance of the products in the incoming formation before knocking off. For this purpose, the conveyor preferably has at least one further acceleration element, which is arranged in the region of the input of the conveyor and can accelerate the products in the conveying direction. The further acceleration element can likewise circulate along an orbit and access the products in a timed manner. Alternatively, the enlargement of the scale spacing may also occur immediately upon entry into the conveyor take place by this forces a conveying speed, which is increased compared to the conveying speed in the upstream component.

So that the following products of the scale formation are influenced as little as possible by the output-
The
On the
As an alternative to the cross conveyor used here, a longitudinal conveyor can be used, in which the Wegförderrichtung F3 substantially coincides with the conveying direction F2. The folded edges 12 would be oriented in this case in the removal direction F3.
The
The clock is detected by a
Optionally, a
The
The bent (prefolded)
The
Subsequent to the pressing process, the folded
