  • Pipe fastening element 20 preferably includes an external, manipulable portion 28 , to permit rotation of pipe fastening element 20 in order to remove pipe 12 from the fitting.
  • rotation of pipe fastening element 20 against the direction of screw threads 22 causes the threads 22 to complete spiral grooves 22' in interior wall 18 , creating a screw thread that acts to move pipe 12 backwards out of recess 27 until the pipe can be removed from the fitting.
  • the invention is particularly suitable for use with laminated plastic pipes, such as pipes having an inner layer of polyethylene, including PEX pipes, it can also be used with any other pipes which have an interior wall which is soft enough to be grooved but strong enough to be retained firmly by strips 26 when the piping is assembled and to remain in place under conditions of engineering requirements and normal use. It will be further appreciated that the invention may be suitable also for any elastic pipes which can be grooved by strips 26 of the fitting.
  • the fitting may be made of any material suitable for carrying the particular fluid passing through the pipes.
  • the pipe fitting 10 of Figure 1a is illustrated as having a connecting cylinder for coupling to a single pipe.

Claims (6)

  1. Raccord de tuyau comprenant:
    un boîtier (14);
    un cylindre de raccordement (16) au moins partiellement disposé dans ledit boîtier (14), le cylindre de raccordement étant monté de façon étanche dans ledit boîtier, ledit cylindre (16) ayant une partie à diamètre réduit (19) définissant un épaulement (23);
    un élément de fixation (20) du tuyau monté rotatif autour de ladite partie à diamètre réduit dudit cylindre de raccordement (16) pour engager sélectivement le tuyau (12); et
    ledit élément de fixation (20) du tuyau incluant des moyens (26) pour engager sélectivement la paroi intérieure (18) du tuyau (12), dans lequel lesdits moyens (26) pour l'engagement sélectif définissent la paroi intérieure d'une cavité de réception d'un tuyau annulaire (27) et présentent un filetage de vis externe, intégral (22) défini autour de celle-ci
    caractérisé en ce que
    ladite portion à diamètre réduit (19) inclut une rainure annulaire (21) qui définit ledit épaulement (23) qui présente une portion inclinée (23');
    l'élément de fixation de tuyau (20) est en outre monté de manière rotative autour de ladite rainure annulaire (21);
    ladite portion à diamètre réduit (19) est plus longue que la longueur de l'élément de fixation du tuyau (20) de façon à permettre audit élément de fixation de tuyau (20) de coulisser en va-et-vient longitudinalement le long de ladite portion à diamètre réduit (19); et
    lesdits moyens (26) pour engager sélectivement la paroi intérieure (18) du tuyau (12) sont configurés pour permettre le retrait du tuyau (102) du raccord lors de la manipulation dudit élément de fixation de tuyau (20).
  2. Raccord selon la revendication 1, dans lequel lesdits moyens pour engager sélectivement la paroi intérieure (18) d'un tuyau (12) inclut au moins une bande flexible (26) définissant une paroi intérieure de ladite cavité, et ladite au moins une bande allongée (26) comprend des portions du filetage de vis externe, intégral (22) définies autour de celle-ci, de sorte qu'une portion de filetage de vis (22) est définie sur chacune desdites au moins une bande (26) et adaptée et configurée pour couper et engager la paroi intérieure (18) du tuyau, ladite au moins une bande (26) étant disposée de façon adjacente à ladite rainure (21), une extrémité libre de ladite au moins une bande (26) étant configurée et agencée pour un mouvement sélectif dans la rainure (21), lorsqu'un tuyau est poussé dans la cavité (27), et hors de ladite rainure (21), de sorte que le filetage de vis (22) coupe et engage une paroi intérieure du tuyau pendant que ladite au moins une bande (26) coulisse le long de ladite portion inclinée (23') dudit épaulement (23) jusqu'à ce que ladite bande s'appuie contre ledit épaulement (23).
  3. Raccord de tuyau selon la revendication 1 ou la revendication 2, dans lequel ledit élément de fixation de tuyau (20) inclut en outre une portion externe, manipulable (28) pour faciliter la rotation dudit élément de fixation de tuyau (20) pour permettre le retrait du tuyau (102) du raccord lors de la manipulation dudit élément de fixation de tuyau.
  4. Procédé de formation d'un raccord de tuyau pour un tuyau pouvant être rainuré, le procédé comprenant:
    la fourniture d'un cylindre de raccordement (16) monté de manière étanche dans un boîtier (14);
    la formation d'une portion à diamètre réduit (19) incluant une rainure annulaire (21) définissant un épaulement incliné (23, 23') autour dudit cylindre (16);
    le montage de manière rotative d'un élément de fixation de tuyau (20) autour de ladite portion à diamètre réduit (19) dudit cylindre de raccordement (16) et autour de ladite rainure (21) pour engager sélectivement le tuyau lors d'une action de raccordement rapide;
    la fourniture de ladite portion à diamètre réduit (19) plus longue que la longueur de l'élément de fixation de tuyau (20) permettant audit élément de fixation de tuyau (20) de coulisser en va-et-vient longitudinalement le long de ladite portion à diamètre réduit (19); et
    la fourniture de moyens (26) pour engager sélectivement la paroi intérieure (18) du tuyau qui définit la paroi intérieure d'une cavité de réception de tuyau annulaire (27), et sont pourvus d'un filetage de vis externe, intégral (22) défini autour de ceux-ci, pour permettre le retrait du tuyau du raccord lors de la manipulation dudit élément de fixation du tuyau.
  5. Procédé selon la revendication 4, comprenant en outre:
    l'insertion d'un tuyau dans la cavité de réception de tuyau (27) dans l'élément de fixation de tuyau (20);
    la poussée du tuyau (12) sur ledit raccord et dans la cavité (27) poussant lesdits moyens (26) pour engager sélectivement une paroi intérieure (18) du tuyau (26) vers l'intérieur de la rainure annulaire (21) avec le tuyau (12) coulissant sur des cotés inclinés du filetage de vis (22) ;
    le retrait du tuyau (12) du boîtier (14) de sorte que les cotés perpendiculaires du filetage de vis (22) engagent et rainurent la paroi intérieure (18) de tuyau (12) ; et
    le retrait en outre du tuyau (12) poussant lesdits moyens (26) pour engager sélectivement une paroi intérieure (18) du tuyau vers l'extérieur depuis la rainure (21) pour couper plus en profondeur dans le tuyau (12).
  6. Procédé selon la revendication 5, dans lequel :
    lesdits moyens pour engager sélectivement la paroi intérieure (18) du tuyau incluent au moins une bande flexible (26) comprenant des portions d'un filetage de vis externe, intégral (22) défini autour de ladite au moins une bande flexible (26), de sorte qu'une portion d'un filetage de vis (22) est définie sur chacune des au moins une bande;
    l'étape de pousser lesdits moyens pour engager sélectivement la paroi intérieure (18) du tuyau vers l'intérieur inclut la poussée de ladite au moins une bande (26) vers l'intérieur dans la rainure annulaire (21) en faisant coulisser le tuyau sur des cotés inclinés des filetages (22) sur ladite au moins une bande (26); et
    l'étape d' engagement sélectif inclut le retrait du tuyau (12) pour tirer l'élément de fixation de tuyau (20) hors du boîtier (14), faisant coulisser ladite au moins une bande (26) le long de la portion inclinée (23') de l'épaulement (23), qui pousse ladite au moins une bande (26) hors de la rainure (21) et lesdits filetages (22) pour couper plus en profondeur dans le tuyau (12), jusqu'à ce que ladite au moins une bande s'appuie contre l'épaulement (23).
