Definitions
- the invention relates to an elastic strand seal for windows, doors or the like.
- a head portion from which protrudes a profile for anchoring the strand seal in a retaining groove of a support frame or the like.
- a center over the length of the profile foot extending center web is provided from a harder elastic material from which runs on both sides at an acute angle in the direction of the profile head towards each a projection of this harder material, and wherein the central web is surrounded on both sides with soft elastomeric foam.
- an elastic strand seal is known, as used in particular in plastic and light metal windows, in which the retaining grooves in their upper insertion-side region have a narrowed insertion slot, below which then widens the receiving groove.
- This known seal has a at the end of the profile foot laterally beyond the two side surfaces each projecting foot end portion comprising two roof-shaped converging end faces, each with a layer is covered by harder plastic.
- these layers of harder plastic are formed only at the laterally roof-shaped end faces and each end a short distance in front of the end portion of the profile foot, which makes up the top of the shape of a harpoon foot tapered training.
- this known harpoon foot has favorable friction conditions during insertion through the narrower inlet section of the retaining groove and leads to an increased resistance to slipping out of this.
- a use of such a known Harpunenfußes in a strand seal for wooden windows or wooden doors, in which the receiving groove has no narrower inlet region, but from the groove bottom to the Nutrotary continuously has an equal width does not make sense, since at a provided with this known Harpunenfuß continuous seal the inclusion of such a Dichtungsfußes in a uniform over its entire height receiving groove in turn a central seat of the foot in the receiving groove over the length of the same is not guaranteed, so that it can come to a wavy course of the strand seal within the groove over the length of time which is highly undesirable.
- the strand seal from the DE 7329933 U is intended for an application in which the retaining groove has a narrowed in width inlet region, below which the retaining groove then laterally enlarged again and thereby there is an undercut in the entrance region of the groove.
- a stiffening by incorporation of a spring plate is provided in the interior of the sealing head as well as in the footbridge, which spreads down in the foot area V-shaped in the direction away from the groove bottom.
- This known stop seal is also provided in particular for plastic and aluminum windows and doors, in which the retaining grooves, as in wooden windows and doors, over their entire depth away have an equal width, but rather a narrowed insertion slot is provided in the insertion in the holding ,
- this strand seal is provided in principle with a harpoon, in which two roof-shaped end-to-end end faces of the foot are provided from a harder material at the free end of the foot, with a center footrest in the foot of a harder material converge and laterally over the otherwise over the remaining extent of the profile foot across constant width thereof survive.
- the present invention seeks to propose an elastic strand seal of the type mentioned, which is suitable for use in wooden windows and wooden doors and ensures a substantially central seat of the seal base and thus the strand seal over the length of the holding away.
- this is achieved in a strand seal of the type mentioned in that the region formed by the soft elastomer foam of the profile foot in a over the longitudinal extent of the profile foot viewed middle portion thereof on both sides of the central web each an outwardly directed, over the lateral boundary surfaces of the retaining something slightly protruding Forms bulge, from which in the direction of the sealing head as well as in the direction of the projecting end of the profile foot towards the total thickness of the profile foot continuously decreases, and that the projections of the central web during insertion of the strand seal in the retaining groove with the side surfaces thereof in frictional contact, thus in unload the unloaded state laterally than the nominal width of the retaining groove.
- the strand seal according to the invention is achieved by the presence of the hard center bar on both sides at an acute angle in the direction of the profile head running down projections of hard material in conjunction with the hard center bar first that there is sufficient rigidity in the insertion direction when inserting the profile foot in the holding and thus an undesirable upsetting of the foot during insertion is omitted. Since these protrusions of harder material come into frictional contact with the side walls of the retaining groove during insertion, the frictional forces occurring during insertion are also relatively small.
- the center web runs out of or out of a boundary web of the profile head, which in turn also consists of a harder material, at least in the region of the outlet point and in an approximately equal area on both sides. This also promotes the overall stiffness of the foot area in conjunction with the boundary web of the head area, from which the foot area proceeds, which is advantageous when inserted into the retaining groove.
- the two sides of the profile foot at an acute angle V-shaped running upward projections of harder material at the projecting end of the profile foot are provided and the softer elastomeric foam is on both sides of the central web only in the area between the expiring projections and attached to the profile head.
- the harpoon form forming V-shaped protruding projections of harder material in the region of the projecting end of the profile foot, d. H.
- the two laterally extending from the central web at an acute angle projections made of harder material are not formed on the free projecting end of the profile foot, but at a certain distance from this, namely in a position on the profile such that their freely projecting ends lie approximately at the points of maximum lateral bulge of the soft elastomeric foam and bear against the side surfaces of the retaining groove, wherein the soft elastomeric foam is not provided on the Profilfußende facing side of the bulges quite up to the free end of the central web.
- This design also ensures a relatively rigid design of the entire profile foot and at the same time a good lateral support in the retaining groove in the sense of a good central positioning by the compression of the lateral protrusions of the elastomeric foam on the facing side surfaces of the retaining above and below the projections of harder material.
- one (or more) outwardly projecting sliding nub (s) made of harder material is attached to a strand seal on both sides of the central web in the region of maximum bulge on the softer elastomer foam / are, resulting in lower frictional forces when introducing the protrusions of the elastomeric foam in the retaining groove.
- the harder material, as it is used for the central web, the lateral projections of the central web as well as for Gleitnoppen, is preferably a compact elastomer and has a hardness in the range of 75 ° ShA to 90 ° ShA, but especially by 50 ° ShD, while the softer elastomeric foam has a hardness in the range of 20 ° ShA to 30 ° ShA, more preferably 23 ° ShA.
- Strand seals 1 shown in cross-section are intended for use in wooden windows, wooden doors or the like, and each have a head region 2, from which protrudes a profile foot 3, which is used for anchoring the strand seal 1 in a corresponding retaining groove 4 (see. Fig. 4 ) a holding frame 5 of a wooden window, a wooden door or the like. Serves.
- the profile foot 3 comprises in each case one approximately centrally in it and over its length extending middle web 6, which consists of a harder, in particular foamed, elastomeric material whose hardness in the range of 75 ° ShA to 95 ° ShA, preferably of 90 ° ShA, but especially of 50 ° ShD.
- the center bar 6 runs, as the figures show, from a boundary web 7 of the head portion 2 of the strand seal 1, namely at right angles to this boundary web 7 away, and extends over the entire length of the profile foot third
- this middle web 6 has over its height substantially a constant thickness d , with its width, however, widens in its upper, ie the head portion 2 facing end portion funnel-shaped head portion 2 out.
- d substantially a constant thickness
- the central web 6 is provided in the region of its lower end remote from the head area 2 on both sides with one at an acute angle ⁇ from the central web 6 upwardly running projection 8, wherein the central web 6 these two V-shaped mutually employed projections in the region of their roof-shaped convergence at the free end of the profile foot 3 preferably still projects beyond a short section 9 (see FIGS Fig. 1 and 2 ).
- the central web 6, the laterally projecting extensions 8, the projecting portion 9 and the boundary web 7 of the head portion 2 are all made of the harder elastomeric material, which is preferably foamed. All these areas of harder material are interconnected.
- the profile foot 3 has, like the Fig. 1 and 2 each show on both sides of the central web 6 in the region between the lower obliquely projecting lateral projections 8 and the upper boundary web 7 of the head portion 2 each have a region 10 made of soft elastomer foam on or is foamed on both sides.
- the embodiment of the strand seal 1, as in Fig. 2 is different from the one shown Fig. 1 only in that it is additionally provided at the point of the maximum diameter D outside of the two lateral (maximum) bulges 11 in addition, each with a projecting sliding knobs 12, likewise made of a harder material, whereby upon insertion of the sealing strip 1 in the holding groove 4 a better sliding of the regions 10 of soft elastomeric foam on the side walls of the retaining groove 4 on the small protruding sliding nubs 12 made of harder material (due to lower frictional forces) is achieved.
- the side of the central web 6 upwards V-shaped angled extending extensions 8, not - as in the Fig. 1 and 2 - At the bottom of the profile foot 3, but in a central region thereof.
- regions 10 'of soft elastomeric foam are provided between the lateral projections 8 and the boundary web 7 on both sides of the central web, but likewise areas 10 "of soft elastomeric foam between the underside of the projections 8 and the lower end of the central web 6, the The embodiment shown here again projects around a small portion 9 over the lower side regions 10 "of softer elastomeric foam.
- the areas 10 'and 10 "on each the two sides of the central web 6 are not connected to each other, but each separated by the projections 8 from each other.
- the strand seal 1 of the form Fig. 3 is not carried out over the height of the profile foot 3 away with the same width, but with a between the boundary web 7 to the projection 8 (maximum lateral bulge 11) towards growing and then below this projection 8 into the region of the lower end of the central web 6 out the lateral outer sections 10 'and 10 "are made of soft elastomeric foam, thus providing lateral support for the profile foot in the retaining groove 4 over the protruding projections 8 of hard material and above and below the same over there also laterally supporting elastomeric foam areas 10 'and 10 "instead of softer material, which again gives a well-centered fit of the profile foot 3 in the retaining groove 4 over its length.
- Fig. 4 is the strand seal off Fig. 1 when installed at a wooden window or a wooden door at the beginning of a closing operation shown in cross section.
- the strand seal 1 sits with the profile foot 3 in a retaining groove 4 in a receiving frame 5 of a wooden window or a wooden door.
- the receiving grooves 4 are formed so that they have over their entire groove height out a same receiving width, thus representing the groove side walls 4A and 4B over the entire groove height across flat surfaces.
- the profile foot 3 When inserting the strand seal 1 in the retaining groove 4, the profile foot 3 is first inserted with the front in the insertion direction lateral projections 8 made of harder material in the retaining groove 4, which is due to the harder material, a slight sliding of the ends of the projections 8 on the side surfaces 4A and 4B of the holding groove 4. Due to the central extent of the existing of harder material middle web 6 is also a good stiffening in the longitudinal direction of the profile foot 3 when inserted.
- the lateral regions 10 of soft elastomeric foam are pressed into the retaining groove 4, until finally the boundary web 7 of the head region 2 covers the retaining groove 4 above and comes to rest on the retaining surface 13 of the retaining frame 5 (This is the final installation state), the angle of attack of the lower lateral projections 8 to the longitudinal center line of Middle web 6 is not only reduced compared to its given in the unloaded state size ⁇ (ie the side projections 8 were elastically bent when inserted into the retaining groove 4 upwards), but in addition, the regions 10 are made of soft elastomeric foam between the projections 8 and the boundary web 7 comes with their bulges 11 in abutment against the side surfaces 4A and 4B of the retaining 4 and thereby pressed something in the direction of the central web 6 out.
- the materials used are elastomeric materials which react elastically in the event of a change in shape (when pressed or tilted), the respective contact points between the upwardly bent lateral projections 8 and at the point of maximum Prevault 11 and the respectively facing side surface 4A and 4B of the retaining groove 4 due to the elastic deformation in each case a corresponding (elastic) restoring force between the respective side wall 4A and 4B of the retaining groove 4 and the adjacent part of the elastomeric strand seal.
- the overlying areas 10 with soft elastomer foam due to their lateral conditioning and indentation ensure that even at lower in the Garut 4 introduced end portion of the profile foot 5 is also a supportive and thus supplementary effective centering of the profile foot 3 in the area between its projecting end and the limiting web 7 is achieved and thus the profile foot 3 is a good overall centered sitting in the retaining groove 4.
- the areas 10 soft elastomer foam are very evenly pushed during insertion behind the oblique projections 8, so that sets over a relatively large area of the overall height of the profile foot 3 and the central web 6 good lateral guidance and centering.
- hard or “harder” is intended to represent only a relative distinction from the term also used “soft” or “softer” and thus denote only a different degree of hardness of these opposing materials.

Description
The invention relates to an elastic strand seal for windows, doors or the like., With a head portion from which protrudes a profile for anchoring the strand seal in a retaining groove of a support frame or the like., In the profile foot and a center over the length of the profile foot extending center web is provided from a harder elastic material from which runs on both sides at an acute angle in the direction of the profile head towards each a projection of this harder material, and wherein the central web is surrounded on both sides with soft elastomeric foam.

Proceeding from this, the present invention seeks to propose an elastic strand seal of the type mentioned, which is suitable for use in wooden windows and wooden doors and ensures a substantially central seat of the seal base and thus the strand seal over the length of the holding away.
According to the invention this is achieved in a strand seal of the type mentioned in that the region formed by the soft elastomer foam of the profile foot in a over the longitudinal extent of the profile foot viewed middle portion thereof on both sides of the central web each an outwardly directed, over the lateral boundary surfaces of the retaining something slightly protruding Forms bulge, from which in the direction of the sealing head as well as in the direction of the projecting end of the profile foot towards the total thickness of the profile foot continuously decreases, and that the projections of the central web during insertion of the strand seal in the retaining groove with the side surfaces thereof in frictional contact, thus in unload the unloaded state laterally than the nominal width of the retaining groove.
In the strand seal according to the invention is achieved by the presence of the hard center bar on both sides at an acute angle in the direction of the profile head running down projections of hard material in conjunction with the hard center bar first that there is sufficient rigidity in the insertion direction when inserting the profile foot in the holding and thus an undesirable upsetting of the foot during insertion is omitted. Since these protrusions of harder material come into frictional contact with the side walls of the retaining groove during insertion, the frictional forces occurring during insertion are also relatively small. By the next but also on both sides of the central web of soft foam formed bulges, however, the complementary effect is achieved that these soft bulges compressed when inserted into the retaining groove of the side walls of the retaining ago and thereby slightly compressed laterally because of the soft Elastomerschaumes and evenly Be pushed over a relatively large contact surface on the side walls. This results in an addition the lateral support by the projections of harder material additional lateral support of the profiled foot in the retaining, resulting in a very good fit of the same in the middle of the retaining, over its entire length, leads, so that in known seals wavy course of the Strangdichtung over the length of the receiving groove away is effectively prevented.
Preferably, in the case of the strand seal according to the invention, the center web runs out of or out of a boundary web of the profile head, which in turn also consists of a harder material, at least in the region of the outlet point and in an approximately equal area on both sides. This also promotes the overall stiffness of the foot area in conjunction with the boundary web of the head area, from which the foot area proceeds, which is advantageous when inserted into the retaining groove.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the strand seal according to the invention, the two sides of the profile foot at an acute angle V-shaped running upward projections of harder material at the projecting end of the profile foot are provided and the softer elastomeric foam is on both sides of the central web only in the area between the expiring projections and attached to the profile head. In this solution, the harpoon form forming V-shaped protruding projections of harder material in the region of the projecting end of the profile foot, d. H. during insertion front, while the area with softer elastomeric foam, which forms a lateral bulge outward on both sides of the central web, in the area between these projections and the sealing head (or, more precisely, the boundary web of the sealing head, from which the middle web runs) before. When inserting the profile foot in the retaining the latter is thus always well guided at its front end by the laterally bent at an acute angle and V-shaped convergent projections of hard material, while the soft elastomer foam then with increasing further impressions of the profile foot in the holding in centered at a distance from the projections by lateral supports.
In another advantageous embodiment of the strand seal according to the invention, the two laterally extending from the central web at an acute angle projections made of harder material are not formed on the free projecting end of the profile foot, but at a certain distance from this, namely in a position on the profile such that their freely projecting ends lie approximately at the points of maximum lateral bulge of the soft elastomeric foam and bear against the side surfaces of the retaining groove, wherein the soft elastomeric foam is not provided on the Profilfußende facing side of the bulges quite up to the free end of the central web. This design also ensures a relatively rigid design of the entire profile foot and at the same time a good lateral support in the retaining groove in the sense of a good central positioning by the compression of the lateral protrusions of the elastomeric foam on the facing side surfaces of the retaining above and below the projections of harder material.
In order to improve the friction behavior when inserted into the retaining groove, it is further preferred if in each case one (or more) outwardly projecting sliding nub (s) made of harder material is attached to a strand seal on both sides of the central web in the region of maximum bulge on the softer elastomer foam / are, resulting in lower frictional forces when introducing the protrusions of the elastomeric foam in the retaining groove.
The harder material, as it is used for the central web, the lateral projections of the central web as well as for Gleitnoppen, is preferably a compact elastomer and has a hardness in the range of 75 ° ShA to 90 ° ShA, but especially by 50 ° ShD, while the softer elastomeric foam has a hardness in the range of 20 ° ShA to 30 ° ShA, more preferably 23 ° ShA.

In this embodiment, regions 10 'of soft elastomeric foam are provided between the

The
In the wooden windows and wooden doors, the receiving grooves 4 are formed so that they have over their entire groove height out a same receiving width, thus representing the
When inserting the
If, after the entry of the
Since the materials used, irrespective of their hardness, are elastomeric materials which react elastically in the event of a change in shape (when pressed or tilted), the respective contact points between the upwardly bent
While the
The
In the above description, the term "hard" or "harder" is intended to represent only a relative distinction from the term also used "soft" or "softer" and thus denote only a different degree of hardness of these opposing materials.
