Description

The present invention relates to a harness designed for carrying out work requiring personal protection against falls from a height, by overlapping and connecting to a fixed anchoring point in order to carry out work on posts, facades, reinforcements etc.

Such a harness known from FR 2847171 can also be used for the safety of people practicing climbing, caving, mountaineering.

It is known, in the prior art, harnesses having such a destination, comprising in a known manner an upper portion consisting of a set of front and rear thoracic straps, extending towards a lower part, to form straps leg straps, the straps being interconnected on the one hand in a dorsal connection zone which is removably attached to a lanyard, at a fixed point, and secondly at their free ends at the level of the leg straps by connecting members.

Although generally satisfactory, this type of harness nevertheless has a number of drawbacks in its design as well as in its practical implementation.

Indeed, in this type of harness known, it is necessary to report a number of accessories to achieve it.

Thus, at the back, the straps are held together crosswise, via a dice darning. This die is extended by an upper attachment zone for anchoring a carabiner forming the end of a removable lanyard.

It is also known to integrate in the lanyard a shock absorber, ending itself by a connecting member at a fixed point.

The disadvantage is therefore the multiplicity of spare parts needed to form such a harness.

In addition, another major disadvantage lies in the fact that this harness is absolutely not protected from dirt when it is not implemented and must be stored.

It is then that the harness is soiled for lack of protection and that the matching straps of the lanyard have a tendency to tangle, which makes tedious the next use of the harness.

The present invention aims to remedy all of these disadvantages and relates for this purpose a fall arrest harness of the type comprising a part upper consisting of a set of front and rear thoracic straps, extending to a lower portion, to form leg straps, front and rear chest straps and waders being interconnected on the one hand in a dorsal connection zone of which is derived from a fastening lanyard at a fixed point, and secondly at their free ends at the waders straps by connecting members, the dorsal connection zone is constituted by a semi-rigid plate forming at least one part of the bottom of an associated storage bag, to constitute an inseparable multifunctional assembly, integrating all the components of the harness in a permanently operational manner, namely: the front and rear thoracic straps and the waders, the connecting members thereof , the lanyard and the storage bag itself, incorporating said semi-rigid plate straps.

The invention also relates to the features which will emerge during the following description, which should be considered in isolation or in all their possible technical combinations.

This description given by way of nonlimiting example, will better understand how the invention can be made with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
  • The figure 1 is a perspective view of the harness assembly according to the invention, in operative position, in front view.
  • The figure 2 is a view of a harness according to the figure 1 , seen from the back, when it is worn.
  • The figure 3 is a perspective view of the harness, in storage position in the bag associated with it.
  • The figure 4 is a detailed plan view of the backplate, shown alone.
  • The figure 5 is a plan view, on an enlarged scale, of a double loop providing the dorsal connection of the straps at the connecting plate.

The harness 1 has an upper portion consisting of a set of chest straps before 2 and rear 3, extending to a lower portion to form straps leggings 4 and 5, the straps 2,3 and 4,5 being interconnected d firstly in a dorsal connection zone 6 from which a fastening lanyard 7 originates at a fixed point, and secondly at their free ends at the level of the leg straps 4,5 by connecting members 8,9 and 10.11.

According to the inventive concept of the invention, the dorsal connection zone 6 is constituted by a semi-rigid plate forming at least partly the bottom of an associated storage bag 12, to constitute an indissociable multifunctional assembly, integrating all the components harness 1 in a permanently operational manner, namely: the straps 2,3-4,5, the connecting members 8,9-10,11 thereof, the lanyard 7 and the storage bag 12 him same, integrating said connecting plate 6 straps.

As clearly visible on figures 1 , 2 and 4 , the straps 2,3, in their rear thoracic portion, cross on the dorsal plate 6 forming an X, through passers 13,14-15,16 thereof, at least two in number, above the crossing point and at least two in number below.

According to the embodiment of the figure 4 a pair of other loops 15a, 16a are interposed between the upper loops 13,14 and the lower loops 15,16.

Preferably, the chest straps 2,3, extending by the leg straps 4,5, are made of polyvinyl chloride of 1.2 mm thick.

According to figures 1 and 2 at the dorsal crossover point of the straps, there is associated with them a double loop 17 forming two passage openings 18, 19 in which rear thoracic straps 2,3 cross freely in an area situated between two upper loops 13, 14 of the plate 12 and two lower loops 15,16 of the same plate 12.

The double loop 7 prohibits the sliding straps 2,3 in case of a fall.

According to another characteristic of the invention, at the dorsal crossing point of the straps 2,3, at a central bar 20 of the double loop 17, is freely docked an end 7a, closed on itself, the lanyard 7, thus integrally integrated to the harness assembly 1.

In this way, according to one of the advantages of the invention, it is not necessary to use a carabiner link at this level, or dice darning.

As shown in figure 1 , the lanyard 7 has at its free end, opposite the dorsal connection point of the straps 2,3, a carabiner 21 attachment to a fixed point, indémontable.

Le mousqueton 21 est cousu à l'extrémité de la longe 7.The carabiner 21 is sewn at the end of the loin 7.

This may be between one and two meters long.

Furthermore, an energy absorber 22 is interposed between the carabiner 21 and the lanyard 7, indémontable way.

L'absorbeur d'énergie 22 est disposé au plus près du mousqueton 21.The energy absorber 22 is disposed as close as possible to the carabiner 21.

Such a set 1 thus consists of indissociable elements, but completely adjustable, allowing adaptation to the morphology of any user.

In fact, the connecting plate 6 is reported by stitching on the inner bottom of the bag 12 when the harness 1 is in the storage position, its setting operational position being by turning the bag 12 on itself.

Although not shown, the closure of the bag 12, in both the storage position and operational position, is effected by means of overlapping panels 12a, 12b from the bottom, comprising self-gripping retaining means.

Of course, other means of closure can be imagined, such as snaps, zippers, etc.

For better handling, and for easy transportation, the storage bag 12 associated with the harness 1 has at its upper part a carrying handle 23.

Preferably, the storage bag 12 associated with the harness 1 is made of a fluorescent synthetic material.

Like the storage bag 12, the straps 2,3-4,5 are also made of fluorescent material for security purposes.

As can be seen on the figure 1 , the crotch straps 4,5 are connected together by a buttock strap 24.

The harness 1 thus composed also comprises a chest belt 25 decomposing into two parts 25a, 25b adjustable in height by simply sliding on the chest straps 2,3 connecting them to the front, with a regulating and closing member and opening 26,27 actually constituted respectively by the male part of a loop and its female part, snap-fit relative to each other.

The connection between the so-called 2.3 thoracic straps and the so-called 4.5 straps of waders is performed by means of two single loops 28,29.

Enfin, la longe 7 comporte à proximité de son extrémité une manchette 30 fixée sur ladite extrémité et comportant les moyens de fixation auto-agrippants permettant le rangement de la longe 7.Finally, the lanyard 7 comprises near its end a sleeve 30 fixed on said end and comprising the self-gripping fastening means for storing the lanyard 7.
