Definitions

  • the invention relates to a height-adjustable armrest, especially for office and swivel chairs or armchairs, and such a chair.
  • the present invention relates to armrests, which are often referred to as armrests, as they can be used for modern office and swivel chairs or even for conventional chairs.
  • armrests which are often referred to as armrests, as they can be used for modern office and swivel chairs or even for conventional chairs.
  • office and swivel chairs there is a need for maximum adjustability, thereby optimizing the seating comfort of a person sitting on the chair.
  • the seat height which is aligned to the size of a person sitting on the chair, and the adjustment of the backrest, which results essentially for ergonomic reasons, exists in modern office chairs and the possibility of the armrest of a chair suitable to adjust the needs of the person sitting on the chair.
  • the adjustment possibilities of such an armrest are many.
  • the European patent EP 1,405,582 B1 describes a three-dimensionally adjustable armrest.
  • the armrest described there is both adjustable in height and also horizontally adjustable, ie transversely and along the sitting direction.
  • the armrest located on the armrest is pivotable about an elevation axis of the armrest, so that an angle of the armrest support is adjustable.
  • the present invention is based on armrests, which are vertically, that are adjustable in height.
  • the present invention and the problems underlying it are explained below with reference to armrests for office and swivel chairs, but without limiting the invention to these applications.
  • the height adjustment of an armrest is typically carried out by adjusting the vertical armrest column, at the upper end of the armrest area is attached and at the lower end of the armrest, for example. attached to a substructure of the chair via a flange.
  • this armrest column is constructed at least in two parts and has two mutually vertically displaceable parts for the height adjustment. This principle is known per se and needs no further explanation.
  • the adjustment mechanism of the various height-adjustable armrest concepts depend essentially on where the release lever or release button is attached to the armrest. In some concepts, this release lever or release button is attached below the armrest, as for example in the DE 202 18 437 U1 and in the DE 101 42 370 A1 is described. The adjustment mechanism is here relatively complicated due to the large distance of the release button.
  • the present invention is based on height-adjustable armrests, in which the actuating lever or the release button for the height adjustment in the lateral region of the armrest column, i. on the side facing away from the user side of the armrest column, is arranged.
  • the armrest columns are preferably flattened outwardly and thus form substantially tubular parts with an oval cross-section.
  • This type of armrest columns are used in particular for design reasons, on the one hand to ensure sufficient stability for the armrest and on the other hand, to give the armrest column not too powerful, unaesthetic impression.
  • the trigger button or the release lever is here on the flat outside of the armrest column and arranged in particular in the region of the upper sleeve part.
  • the corresponding adjustment mechanism is therefore also provided in this area of the armrest column.
  • the problem with this concept of height adjustment is the spatial depth. Since the armrest column is formed only very flat, is inside this armrest column little space and in particular a small distance available, within the adjustment mechanism can be pushed over the shutter button inside the armrest column to release the release mechanism and then lock again ,
  • a height-adjustable armrest which is provided on its outer side of the armrest column an actuating lever.
  • the operating lever is pulled upwards and thus acts against a provided between this operating lever and a platform helical compression spring.
  • the sleeve part of the armrest support column can be moved vertically up and down.
  • the actuating button is connected via an L-angle joint with a locking part in the region of the armrest column, which serves for the locking and thus the attachment of the sleeve part to the support part of the armrest column and thus provides a height adjustment.
  • the height adjustment described therein requires a relatively complicated internal adjustment mechanism in the form of an L-angle joint part.
  • an adjusting blade connected to the part to be adjusted is introduced so that it can be displaced with respect to an adjusting cartridge.
  • a relatively complex mechanism is provided, which in particular must have a relatively large depth due to the large number of parts used here.
  • the entire adjustment mechanism requires a significant space inside the armrest column, making it no longer very flat and elegant, but rather with greater depth and thus functionally must be designed bulky.
  • a height-adjustable armrest is described in particular for use in an office and swivel chair or swivel chair.
  • the armrest in this case has a height-adjustable, telescopic armrest column, at the upper end of an armrest is attached and having a support member and a connected to the armrest, for adjusting the height of the armrest against the support member slidable sleeve part.
  • a triggering device is provided, which is suitable for a
  • a sleeve member against displacement on the support member securing locking device which has a arranged on the support member locking stop and a rotatably mounted on the sleeve part and coupled by the spring force anchor lever.
  • Such a height-adjustable armrest with a height-adjustable telescopic armrest column, a triggering device and a locking device is also in the DE 43 17 610 A1 . US 5368365 A and the DE 200 06 459 U1 described.
  • the present invention is based on the object, in a chair, such as an office chair or swivel chair, to enable a simple and in particular more comfortable way of vertical armrest adjustment, which is also as fail-safe as possible.
  • this object is achieved by an armrest with the features of claim 1 and / or by a chair having the features of claim 15.
  • a height-adjustable armrest in particular for office and swivel chairs or armchairs, with a height-adjustable, telescopic, outwardly flattened armrest column, at the upper end of an armrest is attached and a support member and a connected to the armrest, for height adjustment of the armrest against the carrier part has displaceable sleeve part, with a release button in the assembled state on a the seat facing away from the armrest is inserted in a correspondingly shaped recess and which can be pressed for a height adjustment against a spring force of an armature lever, with a sleeve member against displacement on the support member locking device securing at least one arranged on the support member locking stop and an elongated in which the sleeve lever has rotatably mounted and spring-coupled armature levers, wherein the armature lever has at least one anchor lever nose projecting laterally from the armature lever, forming a counter-abutment with the locking stop
  • a chair in particular office chair and swivel chair or armchair, with a chair support frame to which a seat support and a backrest are fastened, with at least one armrest according to the invention, which are fastened in a height-adjustable manner via a fastening device on a sub-tree of the chair.
  • the idea underlying the present invention is to provide only a few parts for the locking and thus for the height adjustment, since a large number of adjusting elements for the height adjustment always entails a not inconsiderable assembly and design effort. On the other hand, this makes it possible to provide the adjustment in a very simple but nonetheless very effective manner as needed.
  • the particular advantage of the solution according to the invention is that this requires a very small spatial depth in the interior of the armrest column and in particular in the sleeve part. In this way, even with very slim, narrow armrest columns a respective height adjustment provide yet very effective and easy height adjustment.

  • the anchor lever has an elongated shape whose longitudinal extension is dimensioned such that the anchor lever can be arranged in the interior of the sleeve part and in the interior of the sleeve part in the actuating direction of the triggering device is movable.
  • a preferred embodiment provides that the armature lever has on its upper, the armrest side facing a rotatably mounted on the sleeve part rotation axis and on its opposite lower side has the lever lever lugs, wherein the armature lever tapers in the direction of the lower side.
  • the triggering device has a release button, which is at least partially movable in a recess provided in the sleeve part.
  • a preferred embodiment provides that a spring-elastic element is provided, which is tensioned by an actuation of the triggering device and which then brings the anchor lever by spring force back into its starting position.
  • a preferred embodiment provides that the triggering device is rigidly coupled to the anchor lever via a coupling device.
  • a preferred embodiment provides that the carrier part has on the inside of the housing at least one latching rail as part of the locking device.
  • a preferred embodiment provides that the carrier part on the inside of the housing two locking rails as part having the locking device, which are spaced apart from one another such that in the initial state of the armature lever between these locking rails can be brought.
  • a preferred embodiment provides that the resilient element is fastened on the one hand to the anchor lever and on the other hand to the sleeve part such that the relaxed state of the resilient element designates the initial state of the locking device, wherein the anchor lever lugs are in engagement with a respective locking stop.
  • a preferred embodiment provides that the armature lever presses in the initial state by spring force of the resilient element directly against a respective locking stop of the armrest support, thereby preventing a height adjustment of the sleeve part along the armrest column.
  • the spring-elastic element is designed as a spring, which is attached on the one hand to a dome of the armature lever and on the other hand directly to the sleeve part.
  • a preferred embodiment provides that a limiting device is provided which limits the displacement of the armrest carrier in height.
  • a preferred embodiment provides that the locking device in the upper half and in particular in the upper third of the armrest, in which the armrest is provided, is arranged.
  • the armrests are adjustable in height so that a height of 15 - 40 cm based on the seat of the chair, in particular from 20 to 30 cm is adjustable.
