Das Magnetventil 10, die Wasserweiche 11 und die Dosiervorrichtung 18 werden von der Steuereinrichtung 7 der Waschmaschine 1, die auch den Ablauf der Waschprogramme bereitstellt, gesteuert. Über eine Signalverbindung 40 steht die Dosiereinrichtung 18 mit der Steuereinrichtung 7 in Wirkverbindung. Das Zellrad 17a wird über Nocken oder Mitnehmer (nicht dargestellt) angetrieben, die an der Drehachse 34 befestigt sind. An der Drehachse 34 des Rührwerks 24 ist ferner ein Kupplungsteil 35 mit einer Schraube 33a befestigt, welches beim Einsetzen des Behälters 20 in das Basisteil 19 in ein korrespondierendes Kupplungsteil am Elektroantrieb eingreift. Der Behälter 20 besitzt im unteren Bereich an seinem Mantel Anformungen 32, die eine Befestigung mit korrespondierenden Mitteln am Basisteil 19 (Fig. 2) in der Art eines Bajonetts bereitstellen. Nach dem Lösen des Kupplungsteils 35 kann die Drehachse 24 aus der Lagerung 25 im Boden 22 des Behälters 20 herausgezogen werden, so dass das Rührwerk 24 aus dem Behälter 20 entfernt werden kann. Die Kammer 17 ist mit Schrauben 33b, 33c an der Unterseite des Behälterbodens 22 angeschraubt, so dass sie nach dem Lösen der Schrauben 33b, 33c abgenommen und gereinigt werden kann.
