Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a chair with a shelf, and in particular a chair according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such chairs are used for example as a seminar or student tables and are for example from the DE 298 19 878 U1 or the EP 1 266 596 B1 known.
  • the shelves serve in particular as a writing pad, wherein they are mounted laterally on the seating and between a horizontal position of use and an approximately vertical non-use position are pivotable.
  • the pivot axis of the tray usually runs parallel to the seating direction of the chair.
  • the present invention therefore has the task of creating a nenIndia seating with a side panel, which provides a suitable for a notebook work rest, but still ensures a comfortable entry and exit for the seating.
  • the chair comprises a base frame (generally comprising a plurality of chair legs), a seat, a backrest and a tray, the tray being provided on a support member provided on a side of the base frame integrally formed with the base frame of the chair by means of a hinge mechanism is fixed, that it is pivotable between a substantially horizontal position of use and a non-use position.
  • a base frame generally comprising a plurality of chair legs
  • the tray being provided on a support member provided on a side of the base frame integrally formed with the base frame of the chair by means of a hinge mechanism is fixed, that it is pivotable between a substantially horizontal position of use and a non-use position.
  • the tray is dimensioned for setting up a notebook; and the support member has a first portion which extends obliquely forward and backward with respect to the seat, and also has a second portion extending in a substantially horizontal plane, which adjoins the upper end of the first portion and on which the tray is mounted directly pivotally by means of the hinge mechanism, said second portion is aligned at an angle to the seating direction of the chair and the tray is pivotable about an axis substantially parallel to this second portion.
  • the tray is for placing a notebook or the like, i. correspondingly larger area than the conventional hinged side trays dimensioned.
  • the tray is tilted forward of the seat obliquely to the sitting direction in its non-use position forward, so that a sufficiently wider and thus more comfortable entry and exit for the seating is created.
  • the second portion of the support member obliquely to the seating direction extends far below the tray and thus achieved a large support for the entire surface of the tray, which is for the higher weight of a notebook compared to writing utensils advantage.
  • a user on the chair compared to a laterally folding down in the conventional manner tray despite the larger-sized tray even when folded into its non-use tray is not cramped by this.
  • the angle of the tray holding the second portion of the support member to the seating direction of the chair in a range of about 35 ° to 60 °, preferably about 40 ° to 50 °.
  • the support element is integrally formed with the base frame, for example, integrally formed therewith or welded thereto.
  • the support element is preferably a tubular or rod-shaped support element.
  • the hinge mechanism on a rotation limiting device for limiting the pivotal movement of the tray between its position of use and its non-use position.
  • the non-use position of the tray over its position of use by more than 90 °, preferably pivoted by about 120 ° to 140 °.
  • FIG. 1 to 3 show the seating in different views with the tray in its position of use;
  • Fig. 4 and 5 show the seating in different views with the tray in its non-use position; and
  • Fig. 6 finally illustrates the possibility of stacking several such seating.
  • the seating in particular a chair, consists essentially of a base frame 10-14, a seat 16, a backrest 18 and a hinged tray 24.
  • the base frame 10-14 of the chair comprises in this embodiment, a right side wall 10 with two chair legs, a left side cheek 12 with two chair legs and at least one cross member 14 which connects the right and left side cheeks 10, 12 together and serves as a support for the seat 16.
  • the right and left side cheeks 10, 12 are designed and dimensioned such that a plurality of such chairs can be stacked on each other, as explained in the later Fig. 6 illustrated.
  • the seating of the invention is not limited to this particular construction of base frame 10-14, seat 16, and backrest 18.
  • base frame 10-14, seat 16, and backrest 18 For example, four separate chair legs may be provided instead of the side cheeks 10, 12, which are interconnected via suitable longitudinal and transverse beams. While formed in the embodiment shown seat 16 and backrest 18 in one piece of course, it is also possible to construct seat 16 and backrest 18 separately from one another: in this case, an additional support for the separate backrest 18 is required.
  • the materials for base frame 10-14, seat 16 and backrest 18 are basically freely selectable; but in a preferred embodiment, the base frame 10-14 is made of metal, and seat 16 and backrest 18 are made of plastic or wood.
  • a tubular or rod-shaped support member 22 is provided for the tray 24.
  • the support member 22 is preferably integrally formed with the base frame 10-14, for example, the support member 22 is welded to the right side cheek 10 or one of the cross members 14 (alternatively integrally formed therewith).
  • the support element 22 has a first portion 22a, which extends in a plane substantially parallel to the plane of the right side cheek 10 on the side facing away from the seat of this obliquely forward and upward.
  • the upper end of this first portion 22a determines the height of the tray 24 in its position of use (see Fig. 1 to 3 ).
  • This first section 22a is adjoined (optionally directly or via intermediate sections) by a second section 22b of the support element 22, which in a substantially horizontal plane (see FIG Fig. 1 and 2 ) and at an angle 30 to the seating direction 28 of the chair (see Fig. 3 ) runs.
  • the angle 30 between the second portion 22b of the support member 22 and the seating direction 28 (or longitudinal axis) of the chair is in a range of about 35 ° to 60 °, preferably from about 40 ° to 50 °.
  • the tray 24 is by means of a hinge mechanism 26 (see Fig. 6A ) is attached to the second portion 22b of the support member 22 so as to be about an axis substantially parallel to the second portion 22b between the horizontal use position (see FIG Fig. 1 to 3 ) and a non-use position (see Fig. 4 and 5 ) is pivotable.
  • a hinge mechanism 26 see Fig. 6A
  • the tray 24 is by means of a hinge mechanism 26 (see Fig. 6A ) is attached to the second portion 22b of the support member 22 so as to be about an axis substantially parallel to the second portion 22b between the horizontal use position (see FIG Fig. 1 to 3 ) and a non-use position (see Fig. 4 and 5 ) is pivotable.
  • the hinge mechanism 26 has a rotation limiting means for controlling the pivotal movement of the tray 24 between its position of use and its Limit non-use position.
  • the non-use position of the tray 24 is preferably compared to its horizontal position of use by more than 90 °, more preferably about 120 ° to 140 ° forward, ie in the direction away from the seat 16 and backrest 18, pivoted. In this way, the tray 24 is not exactly aligned vertically in its non-use position (see Fig. 4 and 5 ), so that several such chairs can be stacked on each other, as in FIGS. 6 and 6A illustrated.
  • the optimum pivot angle of the tray 24 depends in particular on the dimensions of the tray 24 and the stack spacing of the chairs.
  • the tray 24 is dimensioned so that it can serve as a work surface for a notebook and the like.
  • the inclined second portion 22b of the support member 22 projects far below the tray 24, thus achieving a large support for the entire tray 24 so that it can stably carry the higher weight of a notebook.
  • the chair In the folded non-use position of the tray 24, the chair provides a sufficiently large and thus comfortable entry and exit, as in Fig. 4 and 5 illustrated. Since the tray 24 is folded obliquely forward, a user on the chair does not feel crowded by the larger-sized tray 24, as would be the case with the conventionally laterally folding trays of the case.
  • the hinge mechanism 26 is constructed as follows, for example.
  • the hinge mechanism consists of two shells, with the first shell fixed to the underside of the tray 24, for example screwed and provided with a receptacle for the tubular second portion 22 b of the support member 22.
  • the second portion 22b of the support member 22 is first inserted into this receptacle and thus pre-adjusted.
  • the second portion 22b of the support member 22 is rotatably received by the second shell of the hinge mechanism sandwiched between the two shells to allow the pivotal movement of the shelf 24 and the second shell is secured to the first shell or directly to the shelf (e.g. Example screwed on).
  • the hinge mechanism 26 with the second portion 22b of the support element 22 received therein is preferably covered by a further housing shell in order to avoid a risk of injury.
  • the rotation limiting means of the hinge mechanism 26 is constructed, for example, of a pin on the first shell and a groove on the second portion 22b of the support member 22, wherein the length and the positioning of the groove defining the two end positions of the tray 24.
