- Gantry kiln of the kind comprising a plurality of gantries (1) which are arranged parallel to one another and define bays of the kiln, and supports (2, 6) which are fixed to the said gantries (1) and between which case-bay tiles (3) constituting the walls of the kiln are positioned, characterised in that at least some of the case-bay tiles (3) are constituted by a flue tile (4) with an axis which is parallel to the said supports (2, 6).
- Kiln according to claim 1, characterised in that the said flue tiles (4) are positioned side by side within a bay and constitute a transverse conduit (45) and/or a vertical conduit (46) which extends parallel to the said supports (2, 6).
- Kiln according to claim 2, characterised in that the conduit (45) extends over at least part of the length of the supports (2, 6) between which it is positioned.
- Kiln according to claim 2 or according to claim 3, characterised in that a transverse conduit (45) is linked up to at least one vertical conduit (46).
- Kiln according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the flue tile (4) is of a section which is rectangular overall.
- Kiln according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the said flue tiles (4) are of different types, for example a fan flue tile (400), a distributing flue tile (401), an end flue tile (402), a plain flue tile (403), a shutter-type flue tile, etc.
- Kiln according to any of claims 2 to 6, characterised in that a corner flue tile (405) provides the link between the transverse conduit (45) and a vertical conduit (46).
- Method of ventilating a gantry kiln according to any of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that:- transverse conduits (45) and/or vertical conduits (46) are formed in at least some of the bays of the kiln by positioning case-bay tiles in the form of a flue tile (4);- a gaseous fluid is caused to circulate between the enclosure of the kiln and the said transverse conduits (45) and/or vertical conduits (46).
- Method of ventilating a gantry kiln according to claim 8, characterised in that a predetermined circulation of the gaseous fluid is obtained by choosing the flue tiles intended to constitute each conduit (45, 46) from a family comprising, for example, fan flue tiles (400), distributing flue tiles (401), end flue tiles (402), plain flue tiles (403), shutter-type flue tiles, corner flue tiles (405), etc.
- Method of ventilating a gantry kiln according to claim 8 or according to claim 9, characterised in that at least some of the transverse conduits and/or vertical conduits are linked up to external fluid-distributing means.
